Had mine 12 yrs, still love the sound and way it drives and looks.
If anyone thinking of getting one just do it you, ll not regret it.
Only down side is fuel. Can drink it if u boot it, but had 34mpg on good run.
Worth it just for sound of 5 pot.

Reliability wise any good?
Just started watching your videos as i'm looking at buying my first ST soon, your videos have been very helpful in making my mind up. Fuel costs don't seem that bad really, I do less than 5000 miles a year and it will be my daily driver. I also love that you can do work on them yourself, it's one thing that puts me off newer cars.

I had one of these 10 years ago and I loved it. Very tempted to get another one in a year or 2. Currently have a 2014 RS6 so I know it'll be a considerable drop in power but it would still be fun and I'd have a nice bit of cash in bank from the sale of RS6 that I could spend on a few must have mods. Great video dude

I love fast estate and the RS6 is king of them all! There’s just something about the MK2 Platform, is the 5 cylinder, is it the noise who knows but they are awesome cars!!

Bought my unmodded ST in Aug 21. Did the cam belt and water pump straight away. This year (2023) I also had to replace a front spring (old one was cracked) and replaced slipping clutch.
I'm in the process of saving for one. These types of videos really help 🤠 I own a 1.6 TDCI of these cars there great

Can tell you categorically if you think a 1.6tdci is a nice car and haven't driven an st before your in for a massive shock, I never liked the focus, driven many of them due to my job and never ever rated them, thought they were a cheaply made cheaply built family car, dont mean any offence by that, the st is a completely different car, may look slightly similar but the whole experience is completely different, having driven my first one made me want one and had one ever since,

@@TheWildPikey couldn’t agree more, there is definitely something about the MK2 platform!!
Stage 2 mods plus RS clutch is a lot of money. Get a remap first as it transforms the car with 45 bhp and loads more torque for a few hundred quid, and see how you feel.
Your not long with the money but I’m heading for stage 2 my friend, full 3” Miltek with 200cell sports cat been installed, intercooler next to be installed!!
God I miss my mk2.
Best I ever got was 36mpg from stage 1 dreamscience map. Usually got around 24.
Best car I ever had period, smiles per mile.
I got a CP340 package from BD performance last year.
Highly recommended it.
I’ve looked at the 340 package and there isn’t much needed between 320 & 340 package, so only time will tell how far I got but stage 2 intercooler is next!!

I'm currently looking to buy a Mk2 Focus ST. Must be a face lift, white and a 3 door. An RS would be the dream, but there are more than a newer RS! They just keep going up in value. Nice car mate, hope you love it aswell

I would love an RS and is likely the only way I would get rid of the ST but if it meant trading into an RS I love mine!!

2:56: Is there anything a Ford ST owner can do to avoid the road tax on these cars? If not, on which cars can road tax be avoided? And does it have to be paid or does it have to be swallowed?
got the same motor, remapped and im lucky to get 21 MPG! But it is rapid.
Mines almost ready for stage 2 now!!
I've had my ST for 2 years just had too spend £900 on a body control module but I love the car so didn't mind paying that too fix it

I love mine and can’t see me moving on anytime soon!!
@@BamMotors also had to have a new engine built by BD performance after a few weeks of owning it took the opportunity when the engine was out to fit the RS clutch and flywheel cost me £3600 but I see it as an investment

Thank you, we started at Cape Town and travelled the garden route, went for our honeymoon.
I use 2 different cameras, a Cannon G7x and a GoPro Hero 11

The only problem with these is knowing when to stop modding em spent a fortune and still not finished but absolutely love mine

Stage 2 revo ,dreamscience intake full exhaust with 200 cell sportscat ,airtec plenum, airtec intercooler, full suspension bilstein b8s with whiteline anti rollbars ,full rouse motorsport hose kit, cost a bit but well worth it 👌
Sounds lovely, what power you running with them mods and stage 2 Revo?
@@BamMotors not right sure round about 290 I'd guess but it's enough for me drives well enough ,did have dreamscience map but the car started having major issues with the map misfiring horrendously revo much safer map 👍
@@Fishman1234. 290 sounds plenty, I'd like around the 300 mark. Interesting you say that about dreamscience. I think I've narrowed it down to either Collins Performance or MSD.

How many miles do you do per month and how many times you fill up? Thinking of buying one of these but the fuel costs scare me😂
Fuel cost definitely need to be factored in to when purchasing an ST, a full tank tends to last me around 10-14 days and I do about 130-150miles a week, I recently got 32mpg on a 100 motorway run!!
Ive had mine for 4 years and spent a fortune but hey she looks great and goes like stink! I dont think there are any more mods I can do to her and shes in the best colour Blue!!!
I think I will end up spending a fortune over that time as well!!
Money pit, but they sound fantastic, still regret selling mine, but rather enjoying my M2 ;-), 5 pot still sounds heaps better.
