This song was written by Roger Taylor about his kids back in the day, but it took on a whole new meaning. Freddie's very last song he recorded was Mother Love. His voice was still powerful thru the song, he left before they could finish the song and never made it back into the studio. Roger said that it gave him a reason to get out of bed everyday.. Brian said he told them, write anything and I will sing it and he did and that's what they used for the last album. The cats on his vets were all his cats. On your own time so you dont have to try and swallow that lump in your throat listen to No one but you, that is the last song John Deacon plays on, he took Freddie's death really hard. First time I heard it I got the lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. Now all of that said I have to ask you #Renaissance #DeVonDaVinci please react to You're my Best Friend, or Headlong which is on the Inuendo Album and his vocals are crisps and he is dancing, I probably requested those wrong but I can't remember how you said to do it.
After seeing you react to this I want to give you a huge hug, Keep up the good work.

Yes Mother Love is a haunting and beaitiful song..a must listen..its on the Made in heaven album. The song was made right before he passed away. Brian was writing the versus as Freddy was singing them. Freddy got through the first two verses and Brian saying the third verse and then the end of the song is well I don't want to give it all away. You have to check it out it is such a great song!

As Roger said in an interview, those last lines Freddie sung on Mother Love, around the 2-3 minute mark were spine chilling to hear in the studio, as he'd not heard Freddie like that before :( and it's a beautiful song, just so sad as well, but it was his gift to us yet again :)

To this day I wonder how Freddy managed to do this video. Most of the video was shot May 30, 1991, and he died on Nov 24, 1991, so this was just months before his death. Freddy definitely pushed himself to the limit despite his illness. At this stage Freddy barely could stand, the black and white color on the video tried to hide Freddie's illness but you can still tell that he's very sick and dying.
Written by Roger Taylor, it's a sad video to watch and it was Freddy's saying his goodby to the world. But it's also optimistic, Freddy once again proves his amazing bravery, his battle with AIDS is truly a testament to the human spirit through strength of will.

      @mercuryangel9223 4 роки тому

Nope, the video was shot in March and he was able to move, not sure where you got that he could barely stand. The black and white was to date back to the past and it also served as not making Freddie looked so sick. They did the same with 'Going slightly Mad'. Freddie did have problems, who wouldn't being sick but he came through like the pro he was and it shows in those videos as well as the incredible voice in their last album "Made In Haven'!

This always brings tears to my eyes and inspires me. One of my fave songs and art moments. *Because Freddie already knew he was dying and going to die soon* . Thats why he was like this, so skinny, gaunt. He had been hiding out staying away from media for few years after learning he had HIV, and getting sick. The band kind of were all doing things on their own. And they came together one last time for this. Supposedly he had no energy left, and they took lots of breaks, and his band friends were all kind of shock o see him skin and bones, and they were sad and knew this was it. Thats why they also filmed this video in black and white, and he is wearing LOTS of makeup to hide he is so gaunt and sick. He is literally singing about life, dying, BUT also singing about living and enjoying it while you can...because it ends for all. Sad, but also a last great moment from a legendary artist. A reminder for all of us to never forget to live life while we can. He still is at his best. Musically, and artistically. This is his final GREAT poem to us all.

Devon - fear not. Whatever you listen to you will never hear Freddies voice crack, never hear him hit a bum note. Never. If there were any moments like that they got left in the studio. Even on the Made In Heaven album you will still hear him sing with power and control. From that album I recommend Too Much Love Will Kill You, Its A Beautiful Day (for the sheer poignancy of hearing Fred declare "I Feel Good/And No-ones Gonna Stop Me Now) and I Was Born To Love You.

i'm really happy to see you play this. i'm terminally ill with copd/emphysema. the nature of the disease means that i could l;ast a few more years or i could go tonight. the doctors said i should have died a few years ago, so i could go anytime. so this song always makes me cry. it's that smile that sets me off. i'm pretty much housebound, so i spend all my time reading and listening to music. what interests me about your comments is what you said about music to chill to. i suffer from tinnitus. so i only listen to chilled out music. what i listen to most is pink floyd/david gilmour. however, there's an amazing Scottish singer/songwriter/guitarist called John Martyn who i also listen to a lot. he began as a folk singer in the late '60s, but progressed to electric with a blues/folk sound. his guitar style in the '70s was very unique. he isn't well known, but he is hugely respected by the top musicians in the UK who knew him [he's dead, now] david gilmour said John was years ahead of his time and once played supporting guitar in one of John's concerts. phil collins said that John was one of the true greats. the most chilled song he ever wrote with that particular guitar sound is called 'small hours'. the songs, 'couldn't love you more' and 'may you never' are also amongst my favourites. a less [comparatively] chilled track that really shows off his style most is 'i'd rather be the devil, but you'll need to see that live. the 1973 bbc performance would be good for that. i've been trying to get someone to react to him, with no success, so far. i'd be really pleased if you would do so.

Well, keep fighting. I don't want you to go anywhere. Queen fans have always been the best of people. I'm sure it's partly because of the messages they put out. But, definitely 90% plus percent are kind and intelligent.

Freddie‘s voice was outstanding til his very last song. Check out mother love. It‘s a slow and deep song. First I thought that’s because he had lost his energy which would have been fine by me because he was very very ill at that time. But then comes this amazing vocal passage „out in the city! In the cold world outside!“ and I was like how the hell could he do THAT? Even in his last song he had a better voice and energy than any other singer I know. But then comes this heartbreaking moment: the last verse. And it‘s not Freddie singing. It‘s Brian. Because Freddie had passed... 😭

Liked your intro very much. Freddie moving what he could impressed me...arms, hands, eyes, etc. Not prancing but entertaining with what he had to offer. I enjoy this when it pops up while I'm driving about doing errands.... Thanks for the words.

Freddie's voice was powerful to his last breath. This particular video is painful to watch for me. Apparently even the clothes he was wearing was causing him pain. While recording the song he would do a shot of vodka and prop himself up against the mixing board with a mic in his hand. Sometimes the word legendary gets thrown around rather loosely but not in this case. He was one of a kind. The Made in Heaven album was released after his death but obviously all sang around the time of Innuendo. Most of the music arrangements were post Freddie. He has a song named Delilah after one of his many cats. Amusing little tune it is.

He didn't have trouble recording the song. Look at the video for Headlong (the first single from Innuendo) and you'll see he wasn't that sick yet.

    • @Sneak65

@@kitty1376 The Headlong video was made late 1990. Freddie was most certainly ill at the time. He was dead just 1 year later. I did misspeak though. Around the time of the filming of this video Freddie was still recording tracks for the Made in Heaven album. This is where the vodka/mixing board story came from. Not from the actual recording of this song. Apparently I was either confused or tired when I made that point. Thanks for pointing that out to allow my correction. Cheers!

I think the mixing board story is from Mother Love. That was the last track he recorded; Brian sings the last verse.

Dark_Helmut Made in heaven actually had only 3 tracks he worked on before his death. Winters Tale, Mother Love and You don't Fool Me. Everything else was material that came from Freddy's solo stuff and other songs that we're forgotten about, basically those were reworked into Queen songs by Brian and Roger.

They’re really emotional but you should probably react to ‘No one but you (only the good die young)’ and Queen and Adam Lambert ‘these are the days of our lives’ live it’s just Roger and Brian singing

Good news for you... Freddie's voice NEVER cracked. Actually, it got better because he gave up smoking to prolong his life and a bi-product of that was that his voice returned to full strength. So, when you're listening to Queen at Live Aid..etc... that was Freddie at about 70%.

One of my favorite songs they performed. It was sad, when you said this was the last video he made before his passing. Knowing this makes me think it was as his way of saying good bye. It is in many way a beautiful song. This song has a new meaning to me. Not everyone gets to make a beautiful song of reflection and love and share it with millions. Freddie did that. It is sad he had to leave us so soon in his life and in ours.

Made in Heaven is the last album that Brian and Roger put together with Freddie’s recordings. You won’t hear his voice cracking at all, in fact, it was amazing. Brian commented that as ill as he was, he couldn’t believe the sounds that were coming out of his frail body. He would sing a line 3 times to let the boys choose which they wanted to use. He told them to add the music after because he didn’t have enough time for the guitar and drums to be added. A Winters Tale from that album is beautiful.

There is also a behind the scenes video in color showing Freddy helping out with the editing. They chose to shoot the black and white version as Freddy was so self conscious about his appearance and wanted to camaflauge it.
