Hey Mark! I just wanted to say that I was so excited to receive your book in the mail the other day! And I got a print this morning - I was so excited! I was kinda sad though :( my book came in damaged and dirty, and the print was bent! I have such bad luck with mail apparently, lol. But regardless, I love them both. You're so inspiring - I'm following my dreams as an artist through college, and am entering my senior year thanks to you! I almost went to chef school cause I didn't think I could make it. Good grief! But watching your videos and listening to your wisdom really boosted my confidence, along with the support from my parents all the way through. I've only just started working with coloured pencils for portraits, and I've been having little success with getting the skin colour and texture smooth. It would be great if you could do a video about blending colours for skin tones and textures.

Thank you so much for doing this book. I have ordered one for myself and one for my grandsons as well. They all like to draw, and I have always encouraged them to do so. I think they will enjoy this book as much as I will. I also got the first 3 Brody's Ghost books for my oldest grandson's upcoming birthday. I had bought him a book on drawing last year and didn't realize at the time that I was getting him one of your Manga drawing books - the second one, I believe. He and his twin brothers will probably all wind up reading Brody's Ghost eventually. I don't know the age group your book is aimed at, but one of my grandsons, at the age of 7, read ALL of the Harry Potter books. He absolutely loves reading. He will be 9 soon, and I assume he will probably borrow his brother's books and wind up getting them finished before him! Lol! Thank you for providing us will all you knowledge and talent!

I went to Michael's yesterday to get yarn for my mom, and noticed there was a sale for 30-40% off of everything in the store, so I decided to look for art supplies. The gouache they had there came in different colors and was behind locked glass and listed under "LEVEL 2: ARTIST". I had no idea it was such a powerful art supply, but it makes sense because Mark uses it so it must be a substance of the art gods.
Hi Mark. I'm sure you get thousands of emails and messages every day, but just wanted to say thank you. I am 49 and have never had any confidence in my ability to draw. However, after watching many of your how to draw videos and the realism challenges my confidence has grown. Just today I received my final Open University science assignment back, which needed an illustration of a mineral crystal. I followed your advice and the lecturer said that the illustration was one of the best he had seen. So for that... THANK YOU! :-)
