It’s for selfish reasons. They want to be around their children everyday. You can’t be around your kids everyday if you’re in separate homes. They aren’t thinking about the kids at all.

That enables the conversation to never focus on what he has done. When he spews lies or tries to misrepresent the truth it is him trying force a person to defend themselves. Then he steadily stays attacking with the accusations. In the end you end of defending yourself the whole time and he sits there smirking and attacking.This is a TV show, but in real life you should just walk away and not defend yourself and let the say and believe whatever they want because getting to the "truth" is not their goal anyway. They just want to stay attacking. You notice how soon as Melody clears up one truth, he quickly pivots to another story, to make sure it never returns to him defending himself.

I miss those old school songs because there was a clear message in the story being told. It kept a lot of people on solid ground and happy and your parents, the church and village were on top of it. Thank heaven for great writers. Telling the story of the struggle to get us where we are. The message was strong and the presence of black unity was in full force and effect we were so united all across the 50 states. Sorry, I digress a little but the story of a family being torn a part was mostly unheard of until around the 70's. It was devasting and removed many of father's from the community some were replaced but many were not. It pains me to see separation based on a choice someone else made.
