He tried to level up from his upbringing and have the life that he had with Melody. But instead of reveling in the success he and Melody had, it seems ultimately his ego couldn’t handle having a woman who shined and was as accomplished as Melody. He resents Mel because he really does still want her and that life he had with her and he knows he is the one who caused it to implode. But since he can’t have it or Mel back, he digs at Mel and tries bring her down to his level. It’s sad. And he tries to take credit for her success but the proof is in the pudding. Who has had success since the divorce and who is still struggling? This interview brought nothing new to the table…Martell just needs to move on. I believe people are confusing Mr. Things of that nature’s behavior as protective of For My Man Curry. He is NOT protecting her, he is trying to protect his image, reputation, character, etc. Why? Facts. Tasha literally did the same thing in her interview Arionne. So how or why Martell fell for it again is, beyond me. Got them comfortable enough to make complete fools of themselves. Tasha is a lot of things but I have to give it to her, she’s a pro.
He tried to level up from his upbringing and have the life that he had with Melody. But instead of reveling in the success he and Melody had, it seems ultimately his ego couldn’t handle having a woman who shined and was as accomplished as Melody. Arionne is at the level that works for his ego and she gives him the validation that he needs, like his mother, without outshining him or challenging his ego. He resents Mel because he really does still want her and that life he had with her and he knows he is the one who caused it to implode. But since he can’t have it or Mel back, he digs at Mel and tries bring her down to his level.
It’s sad. And he tries to take credit for her success but the proof is in the pudding. Who has had success since the divorce and who is still struggling? This interview brought nothing new to the table…Martell just needs to move on. Too much has gone on for him and Mel to probably ever be “cool” but if he could just stop acting out of his resentment they may get to a place where at least it is civil.
