- 5月20日，新加坡通商中国推出奖学金计划，招募中国优秀中学生到新加坡留学，并提供为期四年的全部学费、考试费、住宿费、机票，以及生活补助。看到这里，相信不少人会觉得这个项目有些似曾相识，没错，这与之前的SM1奖学金计划极其相像，不过SM1项目在疫情期间暂停，至今仍未恢复。此次通商中国的奖学金项目，仿佛让我们看到SM1项目，以另一种形式得以重启。

从1997至今，新加坡提供了来新加坡升学的中国学生（小学，初中，大学，研究生）全额奖学金已经超过了27年。请问中国为新加坡公民过去的27年提供了多少升学的机会？新加坡公民大约三百万，中国公民14亿。From 1997 to the present days, Singapore has provided full scholarships for Chinese students to study in Singapore (primary school, junior high school, university, postgraduate) for more than 27 years costing us in well over billions SGD. Just curious what opportunities has China provided for Singaporean students in the past 27 years? Bearing in mind there are approximately 3 million Singaporean citizens and over 1.4 billion Chinese citizens.

3 million Sgp is not enuff n couldn’t self generate own population. We can’t replace ourselves left alone to maintain economic growth. This scholarship provides an avenue for both Sgp n Chinese students another avenue. Like this lady, her children born in SG will be next generation, just like our forefathers who later stay rooted in SG. And this scholarship not only extends to Chinese but to MY n other ASEAN countries too. It’s a win-win situation for both in long run.

Win win only these foreigners willing to blending into our lifestyle and our society. Unfortunately many of these foreigners don’t see in this manner but attempting to change our way of lives . Some of these foreign brats UA-camr even to the extend of mentioning they should be prioritized before the native Singaporeans here because they think they are smarter and far richer and contributed more income tax than the Singaporeans (channels like Mason328) . Yes , our forefathers came from mainland but has nothing to do with us no more and we owe them nothing , sorry to say despite some are richer and maybe more talented but still they are only 2nd class citizens unless they serve and suffer like we did in NS time , otherwise many like me don’t consider them as our own. I hope this statement made it very clear in our coming election which I think this time many native pure bred Singaporeans will use our vote to make a statement to PAP .
This is rubbish! The g did not put in much effort to raise our tfr and uses the short cut method to raise the population! While this is a quick fix, nevertheless, it created much more problem in term of social and national security issues!

@@mic5391 Many of our grandparents share a similar background, and their grandchildren now proudly call Singapore home. It is important to remember that we are all descendants of foreigners who have contributed to the rich tapestry of our nation's history.
Of course if the students stay in Singapore, it will contribute more. If the students choose to return or go other countries, they will always be a ambassadors to our country.

Wow these PRCs skipped O and A level exams but straight to SG University while rest of Sporeans need to sit through these exams to decide if qualified to enter SG University.Did Sporeans allow G to spend billions on unequal level playing field?!? Is such unequal level scholarship still given out?!?
No, you misunderstood. For students in NUSH, local and international students were all not required to attend O&A level exams in 20 years ago as mentioned in video.
You obviously have no idea what is happening. It’s a school set up by NUS. Students in the school comprise mainly Singaporeans and some foreigners. They are not guaranteed a place in NUS and their courses are much more difficult than your standard O and A level.
May be you are not knowledgeable enough to understand…
@15:20 it's not sg govt is clever. It's the chinese student is brilliant. Even you've graduated from TsingHua University you're not guaranteed a job.
