Just strictly my opinion, most people misuse the Andromeda when they are comparing it to the Corsair in battle (from what I have seen in UA-cam videos). They try to dogfight the two, which both can handle it and are pretty similar. However, the Andromeda has so many missiles for a reason and are best used just outside the Corsairs gun range. You can lob single size 1 missiles and blead the Corsairs decoys pretty quickly, then follow up with the size 2 missiles. The Corsair (or any other ship) doesn't stand a chance if the Andromeda is used to its strengths instead of as a dogfighter. Especially with a fully manned crew (with a snub pilot) it's no contest. I just wish the devs would give the Andromeda some love and update it to the standards of the new ships. Appreciate the video! RLTW

Some good points were made, like the mediocre crewed turrets, but in the end the Corsair's solo ability wins it for me.

There will be a rework aswell for the Connie, use a Japanese suecide bomber, has lots of missiles.
Getting in and out of the ship is probally the fastest transition from ground to sitting in the pilotseat and flying.
Got myself a Taurus because the loading of crates is gonna be real fast.
It has pretty much C. Roberts name on it, so you know its gonna be good. ;)
9:25 i honestly think the connie is the better solo ship, the 2 turrets and the merlin dont really contribute enough to crew gameplay. on top of that you have over 180000 hull hp, double that of the corsair, this makes the connie highly fergiving in solo combat, the corsair almost requires a full crew of gunners to make up for the sheer lack of hull hp. sure both ships can be run solo but a fully crewed corsair has more to gain, then that of the constellation Andromeda, which is why i think the Connie is the better solo ship. i also just dont like how easy it is for the corsairs wings to get caught in the hanger doors when you try to leave
Thanks for this. I've been considering these two when thinking about what ship I want to fill in this size slot in my fleet, currently occupied by the 400i. As a less combat-focused player I prioritize things like survivability, low crew count, how fun is it to fly, interior design, general utility, and aesthetic. The 400i checks a lot of those boxes, but the Connie and Corsair certainly have much more utility. I owned the MSR for a while, but I feel the tunnels are a stowaway liability and it really needs a crew to mount any kind of defense while running away (and it sounds like master modes is going to make disengaging more difficult since you'll lose your shields). The Connie was my original 2013 pledge so going aboard one always feels like going home, but that ship really needs to be brought up to standard/current RSI design IMO. It's also not terribly fun to fly.
Can confirm the storm tank fits in the Corsair.
The Corsair needs 2 things fixed:
1. The 4 doors you have to manually open each time you go from cockpit to cargo bay (door should stay open until we hit close on them).
2. The cargo area in which you can "snap" cargo on should be bigger. The actual amount of cargo you can carry if you use both the "snappable" and "non-snappable" space is closer to ~130 SCU.
You preaching truth here, that ship should easily be able to fit at least three 32 SCU containers in the space.
some of us say for years that the Connie needs a 300i like rework, i think the ship needs to be thicker wider, cos that a blokade runner (Mercury Starrunner) has more and better crew space, is an issue..
so the sip needs a re-work.

Been making this argument for a long time. The Corsair is an Expedition ship (there is no mention of armor in the corsair brochure) people need to remember that. The Constellation is a gunship.
My personal argument is simple based on the FULLY manned comparison. With the Andromeda, the Snub counts, I don't care what anyone at all says. The constellation with its forward weapons, 2 turrets, AND Snub.... It's a vastly better choice. (100k more HP) and as you said, the turrets are WAY better.
the connie turrets also have better range so you can hit that corsair with more dps at a further distance
Great vid once again Marcus. I have went back and forth with both ships and I always come back to the Corsair and this time I won't leave. The styling and wings and even the interior of the Corsair is SO good bro and that fire power for the pilot makes it a monster with 4 AD5Bs and 2 AD4Bs yeeesh! You are right tho both ships are so close!
I have the constellation Taurus and I recently got it's bigger brother, the RSI Galaxy (*sounds of my wallet having a seizure in the background*).
(1.) Corsair has a bigger fuel Tank (then any Connie) by a country mile. (2.) it has more forward facing firepower (3.) It has a Armory (4.) It has a bunch of Crew access storage i.e under bed storage (5.) It can hold a Light Tank. & thats just the shit I can rattle off the top of my head. FYI you really need to look at the fuel tanks on all the connies VS the Corsair.
Trick with fuel tanks is cig could just adjust numbers to match what they want, during any patch at any time

I've always seen as the Andromeda as kinda pointless in comparison to the Taurus. but id defiantly say the corsair is the superior ship even if it is a brick to fly.
I have both of these ships, the Andromeda is my favourite ship and the corsair is a really good ship but the Andromeda does out perform in my opinion, it also has more purpose in game right now.
I've swapped my Taurus for a Corsair.
I have bounced between both, but Id say the connie takes it for me with the missiles and better shape/profile. It does badly need some retouching to bring it more to modern RSI design, so fingers crossed that it does happen someday. Plus the built in snub fighter is just so dope that I cant ignore it.

me too, after the weapon rework, I think the connie will have 4 size 5s and with the med rover. it will be a great daily driver.

Have a Corsair pledged with LTI and will never melt it (I don't think...), it just has the vibe I'm looking for when I just want to go out and live on my ship for a long time and want something bigger and more armed than my Cutter (Though I do love the living in a space van feel).
Have also had some form of Connie be it the Andromeda or Aquilla and my fave the Taurus over the years both before and after getting the Corsair. I love them both. Actually looking at melting my Wildfire and the Nursa I've never even pulled out to look at to get another Taurus for cargo. Though I just flew the Wildfire this morning and do love the vintage feel the Hornet Mk1 gives. Like the TV space fighters of the 70's and 80's I grew up with.
Marcus, I think it's an interesting topic.. With the new loot that is dropped in the ERT's and h. R. T's. This profile has become the new Meta. . Because if you just run a fighter, you end up missing out on a significant loop possibilities. I myself have run 25 to 30 HR t's in each of the variant. And I have come to a completely different conclusion after in game application. I challenge you to run 5 HR t's and each vehicle and come back and make a video about your experience. I found that the corsair was a much better experience overall. They've changed the physics for some reason. The constellation feels heavy and lethargic now. And the flight model of the corsair is a little bit crisper and all the issues with original launch seem to be fixed. Another big benefit is the higher d. P. Yes. On the corsair, allows you to burn those little fighters quick before they start circling you. And I found it easier to get cargo in and out of the back. Of the corsair. Generally speaking, it just was a better experience with a ship that had much better Fidelity. But I'm glad you bring light to the topic. I just suggest you run the ship's individually in game and do 5 missions and each. Ship And come up with A. Update video
They shaved a bunch of mass on the corsairs weight, so that is probably what you're feeling. MSR and a few other ships go this in the latest patch
I was excited by the corsair until I flew it. Reminded me of a starfarer. It's got those massive flimsy wings so I feel like it should handle better. The A2 is twice the size and feels twice as nimble. I'm interested in the connies but haven't flown one yet so I'm sad to hear it handles even worse. The 600i has given me unrealistic expectations for how large ships should handle lol.
So many videos about what ship is better. How good a ship is depends solely on the player's requirements. If it meets all his requirements, then it is the best ship for him, no matter what others say. And sometimes the appearance of the ship even outweighs its usefulness if that is important to the player.
I'll take a corsair over any variant of the Constellation, all day every day.
The Andromeda have more cargo SCU cargospace, but the Corsair have a more usable cargo area. You have a P-52 snub and you can fit one Fury in the cargohold of an Andromeda (2 in the Taurus)... but then you have to use the Elevator of death to get them in and out of the ship...
The corsair can fit up to three Furys in its cargobay and if done right it can deploy them while in mid flight.
you can fit both versions of the Storm in the Corsair. The andromeda can not
The corsair have a full armory with 2xS3 (Railgun/Animus etc.), 6x S2 (Rifles/SMGs) and 9xS1 weapons
The andromeda have 2xS2 gun racks
The interior of the Andromeda is kind of Meh in my oppinion, the Corsair feels much more homey.
In the end, the deciding factor for me is the struts in the middle of your view field on the Andromeda. I can never get used to them and I absolutely HATE them.
I used to have the Constellation line of ships, but replaced them with the Corsair and I have been happy with the change.
Oh, and I have managed to Solo a fully manned A2 in my Corsair, which was complete awesome sauce :)
Corsair fits 4 furies, making it an actual mini-mothership
Overall Corsair is the jack of all trades to me.
Had just enough space for decent cargo, fits in 4 furies and can even fit one medical pisces. In 3.23.1 even a t3 medical bay can be set as spawn point. If that doesn't make corsair a selling point, idk what does.
Corsair is SERIOUSLY underrated and underpriced.

Me and a friend tried a stock A2 today in an ERT... it did not end well LOL He was flying and I just kept on shooting and pretty much nothing happened :p
@@kobodera8261 truth be told tho, a regular ERT might require more firepower and laser weapons. AD5B received a nerf, they hold less ammo now. So size 4 guns need to be lasers now
I keep going back and forth between the Connie and the Corsair. I cannot decide which I like more. I think once the Connie gets it’s gold standard pass it’ll be a no brained but for now I remain torn

Tried the Corsair during the expo, wasn't impressed enough to want to upgrade from my Andromeda. All the doors between the pilot and cargo bay got annoying for me.
I think they're so close in stats, to me it comes down to style.
I like the engine room, the private quarters, the ramp, the docking armory room
The Connie's a great ship I'm just not as big a fan of its kinda weird layout.
Interior of the corsair did it for me too. if the connie had a captains cabin it would feel better than it does with the open floorplan
@stibosis with how crazy the new RSI ships look im sure when they finally give the Connie it's rework that ships gonna be so slick inside.

I find the Andromeda more versatile, in the future there may be more caves exploration, asteroid exploration etc that could only be accessible by smaller ships, making the snub quite useful. Although I do like way more the current looks of the Corsair and its interior, the Andromeda interior is not so bad if you account the ease of access for a daily driver.
Corsair is the opposite of “armored” btw. Just like the rest of the drake line. Thin hulls, easy to repair, reliant on middling shielding

Got to fight in a corsair as a gunner and it was fun.
As i have used both ships extensively over an extended period of time.
I can agree that the Corsair has its flaws, has a few janky things that are annoying to deal with. Here are my two cents:
1) How do they fly?
- Both ships fly in a similar way in space and in atmo. The caveat to the Corsair is that unless you enable the V-Tol engines, your Atmo performance is shyte. So its a MUST to enable in atmo.
The Connie does not have that same issue.
- To me they both turn in a similar way, both are equally fast to me.
- The Corsair has a bit more range in QT and Hydrogen, so i think it will stay that way even in the future.
2) Firepower ?
- Corsair wins hands down. The size 5s are simply amazing in the current build of the game. Both ship`s turrets kinda suck in all honesty. But i have heard people complain (can`t verify this myself, as i dont have friends to test it out with) that the Andromeda`s turrets can take a certain amount of damage and then become useless at one point. Perhaps its the same for the Corsair? I`m hoping someone can comment and clarify.
- The Connie has a snub, yes. However even though it has that advantage, how often will you have 2 people on the turrets & a 3rd person in the Snub during a fight?
3) Looks & Style ?
- Corsair is simply one of the best designed ships right now. The engineering area is in the center of the ship - so in the future the components will be easy to repair / replace.
The interior, crew quarters are just great. Its homely! You can live in that ship comfortably! And it has an Armory with guns and suit lockers!
4) Cargo ?
- Yes the Andromeda has more cargo. But it can`t fit some Vehichles comfortably. I can`t fit a C8R Medical Pisces in my Connie! >_<
So in my eyes the Corsair wins hands down, just because it can fit the C8R! Its simply more versatile. And i can put at least 2 Mirai Furies easily in the Corsair and take them out during a fight if i have the people to crew them.....
- I can easily fit x2 ROCs next to each other in the cargo door of the Corsair. And i have Flood Lights in the back! So mining with a ROC during the night is not an issue with the Corsair.
5) In the end of the day, we all know that the Constellation series are the big Man`s babies. So they will definitely get a Gold pass at one point, the rework has been in question for a long time.
So when it does eventually come, the Connie will probably be a lot better than the Corsair.
Both are great ships. But until the Connies get their rework, i am sticking to my Corsair for the time being. Gotta love the Drake Jank :)
In my own testing I consistently found the Corsair at sea level can do a horizontal 180 or full loop 1-2 seconds faster than the Connie *without* using VTOL. That is an extra 1-2 seconds on each pass that the Corsair can batter the Connie with those powerful pilot guns before it can start to shoot back.
I like the Connie, but I mostly fly solo and I'm in LOVE with the Corsair. It's a great daily
Corsair is great, yet like flying in a windowless trashcan.
Id go connie, but probably Taurus. A little less tank, loses the size 1 missles but keeps the 24ish size 2s. Doubles the cargo of other connies, 100 more than the corsair. And the teactor beam works great as long as you dont leave your feont elevator down

I'm curious to see what the Conni series will look like if it ever gets a rework. Fundamentally, it's a brilliant ship... but it does have it's flaws. A rebalance could change all that and a potential rework could really put it back on top of the pile once more.
Buggy things like janky lifts & snub fighter docking should not affect anyone's decision when choosing ships. Updates and patches will fix them eventually and even currently working ships cold possibly develop bugs later down the line before release. So these small things should be ignored as you think more long term and future balancing. Same goes with anything to do with the HUD, it's getting a full redesign for ALL ships.
I feel my Taurus was more useful but my Corsair is more fun.
In the end of the day, when I buy the C2 the Taurus won't be played pretty much ever anymore, but the Corsair is always the most DPS you have with a pilot alone, at least for now.
Im not a fan of the Corsair but its not terrible.
The thing is the Taurus is going to be a much better ship with cargo changes. When you can no longer hand tool boxes or you have to hand load your ship the tractor turret is going to be a huge boon for it.....
Oh and as long as you can move 1 scu boxes by hand you can do an ert and load the elevator bring it up and shuffle the boxes into the "smuggling " compartment.
Drake is all about the guns, second focus is speed, then shields and the last priority is armor. So I wouldn’t expect the armor to change its balance it’s already pretty ahead of the pack.
I will agree with you once they fix the bottom mounts on the Connie so you can use size 5s. Until then I think the firepower you're giving up makes a lot of difference once you're fighting large ships.
Choosing between the Corsair or the Andromeda/Taurus is a nice problem to have tbh. I love them all.
The Corsair is the best "ship-home" in the game imo up to its' price point. But the Constellations are just fantastic across the board otherwise.
Yeah I was purely speaking on the aspect of combat but yes the Taurus is a great option
I've had my Connie. Since I pledged way back in 2013. It is the ship that drew my eyes to star citizen because it looked so much like a cross between Star Wars and star trek. It had that Star Wars millennium Falcon appeal with the turrets and design of the ship's interior. Though now it seems some changes I still like what it looks like. And the engines just screamed Star track warp pylons! When I was first able to enter the hangar with that thing in 2015 it was amazing and experienced even if I couldn't fly it just being able to walk around it. In 2017 when arena commander finally allowed us to play the ship in there I spent hours flying around in that thing. And in between 2017 till now life hit hard and I wasn't able to play the game at all now that I'm able to come back I still love that ship and I can't wait till they get the AI crew and server blades online because that's what's going to be controlling my turrets. Because sadly I am stuck as a solo player life makes it really really hard to play a game with friends not that I have friends that play star citizen
S2 weapons have the same range as S4 weapons, for the most part. When weapons are in turrets, they have a larger capacitor, and thus do way more sustained damage vs pilot-controlled weapons.
So, while the pilot-controlled guns in the Corsair do more damage than the turrets, it's not THAT much. Like if you combine the firepower of all the S5 and S4 guns, they do twice the damage than the two manned turrets. TWO. The two turrets do 1/3th of the dps the ship in whole deals. I'd not say they are insignificant.
Examples used are laser repeaters.
A single S4 weapon when controlled by a pilot does 298dps (CF-447 Rhino). The side turret in the Corsair fitted with two CF-227 Badgers does 615dps. Both sustained. The turret does TWICE the damage as a single S4 weapon. AND they have the exact same range.
I wouldn't say that the turrets are irrelevant in the Corsair (or any ship.)
Got the Corsair with aUEC but had considered the Connie. Only reason I went Corsair was because I am solo more times then not and the pilot guns won me overs, but I still hate horizontal hangers and how often I loose a wing in a fight.
Of course it is but we are not to say such things out loud. Getting a Drake ship feels like buying a used car that had 5 previous owners. I doubt they will have good armor. Rust, maybe.
Since the rework the connie is better. i love the Corsair but its got 100k less health and way less missiles than the connie with the only upside being more turrets and 2 more guns than the connie which are size 4 pilot guns
I'm pretty sure the Corsair is supposed to be very lightly armored (probably all prone to change one they do balance passed) but the corsair is supposed to be all guns and paper armor. The Andromeda is nice if you only have one large ship and do mining because it's cargo hold is a multiple of 32 SCU and this is the amount the prospector dumps at the refinery.
Of course at the end of the day the one thing that really makes the Corsair more appealing to me is that you can rent the Connie whenever you want and you can't rent a Corsair.
But if I had to go and get a ship again the Taurus we just had a warbond sale on would be pretty tempting mainly just because it's cheaper than other options, and holding more cargo could be nice, and the tractor beams are in the game now even if they need to be worked on a little.
Cant help but suspect the Connie will only get better once it gets a refresh/gold pass. Hope they do unlock the lower weapons.

I am a big drake fan (wake and drake) but only one of these is currently rentable, and for 70k, a connie andromeda is a cheat code for new players, extremely easy to earn the cost back and progress.
Is selling cargo off the grid in the patch notes or is it just not working like every game loop during IEA free fly.

I'm still into trading Vice and trying to sell small packages but I wasn't able to. I'm going to say this is a bug. And they'll want to get this fixed before the next Jumptown.

I have had both ships. As a mostly solo player the Corsair is my daily driver. The Connie is a close second, but hate the interior.
The interior does suck a little...especially the bed in the kitchen area. But I do like the missiles and snub on the Connie

I like the Connie's ground clearance versus the squat dachshund legs on the Corsair. Why does CiG keep making wheels and landing gear designed for billiard tables and putting greens when the worlds are bristling with crags and boulders?
the only problem with the connie is how it lans it likes to lean forward if uneven and that bar in the cockpit

If you set it down gently, it won't lean forward.
Unfortunately the corsair is pretty much unusable for pve bounty hunting atm, because npcs will just ram into your wing and send you spinning...its ridiculous

My Corsair can take a far more interesting assortment in the back. Much better use of internal space. Yes the storm fits in the back. Turrets on Connie’s are size 2. Corsair is faster in space.
IMO it comes down to preference. Both are good choices.

andromeda have sice 2 guns on the turrets to. you cant look at the info on the home page. Butt andromeda have twice the hp it is a smaller target and it pack 50 missiles to soft up all fighter in a area i takes more loadout and it have more ammo in the guns so longer dps before you need to charge weapons.
I tried the Connie a few years ago and really hated both the handling and the interior and quickly dumped it and did not even fly it when it Subscriber ship of the month. The Corsair only handles a little better but the interior is the polar opposite. It is beautifully laid out and you feel like part of a crew rather than a loner sitting miles away from everyone else.
If you were to spend a month living inside both ships only a die hard Connie fan would say the Connie was a better experience... and he would be lying 😅

Do think that the Corsair has a better cargo / vehicle ramp. Otherwise I'm on Team Connie. 4 gimballed size 4s do plenty of damage, plenty of missiles, good shields and you don't need to worry about useless wings. I actually use a Connie Phoenix as my main do everything ship and it's plenty capable for ERTs solo, even with 24 fewer missiles than the Andromeda. Biggest gripe with the Connie is that they need to fix the cargo ramp to be faster, have a more stable cargo grid and not bug out as much.

i think making ship comparisons right now is not worth it. weapons, systems, armor, master modes will ultimately be needed to do a proper ship comparison.

The only 1v1's I lost when flying the corsair v connie were when the connie flew away faster than I could and turned into a missile spam.
That, I'm assuming, will disappear with master modes making the corsair the better ship.
The only one that has a serious advantage as of now for me in gameplay is the Taurus with 100 more scu of cargo. I did switch to it for the increased cargo capacity doin the ERT's for drugs.
But if it is solo pilots, with either aquila/andro/phoenix, the corsair is better hands down.

can you elaborate on that? i was under the impression speed limits are put on ships in combat which would slow the connies escape to missile spam zone
Love the corsair... Its just got a much cooler interior than the connie in my opinion, and I absolutely love using it for bounties, and of course all the entrances like the roof elevator is just a great QOL thing for me.
Look the andromeda is better than the corsair but I will still never give up my Corsair

I agree. Imho since the tractor beam now works, its utility has increased. The weaker extended mid section is not really an issue ‘irl’. But the Corsair is cool, especially in Ghoulish Green. Fly what you love! o7
There's a reason why I wont melt my Connie. I would get rid of my Carrack before Connie.
Amdromeda is S tier with a crew . When the corsair came out we seen pvp full crew match ups between the 2 to test them . The connie won out more times .
The connie amdromeda is just a great multicrew ship and cig will not let the old iconic bird go the way of the dodo.

Weird. I watched three different people do multiple head to head battles and the Corsair won almost all of them as long as there were only four crew. It was very lose though and the Corsair was usually on its last legs by the end. Adding an extra person to the Connie to fly the snub tended to tip the balance though.
You used to be able to put 4 size 5s on the connie, but the two bottom weapons would clip through the ground, maybe one day they will fix that and bring it back.
I think we will see a new connie chassis this year. ship showdown either gave us a hint, or was misleading. time will tell
As much as I love Drake design, the Corsair has those shit wings that I can't stand, not only does the ship fly like ass. The second an enemy sneezes on those wings you're toast. The Connie's are just better all round, old and outdated, yes, though I think if they get their gold pass someday they'll get that new sexy RSI look which made so many of us fall in love with the Perseus and Galaxy.

I fly ERT all day in the connie and dont lose wings. If you aren't running into things you really don't have to worry much. As long as you manage shields and kite when low.
@@OACustom we could argue back and forth on it all day long, but that was my experience when flying it, either fighters would clip my wings, or missiles and stray laser fire would cut through them.
Had to melt it after a week, just not fun to fly. I could deal the Cutlass engines being weak poins due to the fact that it flies pretty well outside of that and is much cheaper. but not with the Corsair.
The trouble with the Connie is that the Corsair is better solo
I like the Corsair, but love the Andromeda. It's been one of my favorite ships for a long time.
At the moment connie its better, but when pyro gets out corsair its going to win for tons

Corsair full deadbolt = 11k DPS. The glass cannon build, go have fun till the ships get changed. If you can aim not not fly like a potato its a 1 shot on light fighters.
until we see how they rework the connie we don't really know it just show its age.
Andromeda has heavy armor. Corsair has paper armor.
Why do you keep saying the corsair is supposed to be heavily armored? That's literally the tradeoff and the Drake way. Simplistic, light, and packing a good punch. There isn't a single ship with heavy armor out. And I question if they'll even give the Drake Kraken heavy armor. The Corsair does not and will not ever have this grade of armor boss. It was never said otherwise. This is Drake, not Anvil, Aegis, Crusader or otherwise a military ship.
Uh ya.. I am so glad I did not pledge a corsair LOL. I have always had a Taurus as my starter (upgraded from starter). Then I bought the Corsiar in game and eh... Just don't like it. Novel at first but Connies are easier to use in all situations it seems. But different strokes right?
My favourite is the Constellation Phoenix, its the best simplely because of the amazing interior. Even if it doesn't have better specs, more cargo or more firepower
in that size i like the 600i explorer over the connie 1 less gun but double shields, in next rework medical bay like the carrack and gonna fit a nova tank in the cargo
The Connie is one of the five original ships just like the freelancer the connie as the other ships really need a rework and get a gold pass.
In the Lore the Connie could stand alone and win against 3 hornets so the survivability of the Connie when Armor gets implemented will be quite high.
But time wil tell there needs a lot of balancing on all ships and weapons.
That said we see it a lot, that new ships have some kind of advantage compared to other ships and after a while it gets adjusted to be more inline to what it should be compared to other ships at that time.
This is not to say this is final, absolutely not you see if you put a ship in-game that has an advantage on a lot of other ships then the gameplay is effected.
But also the sales of ships, Gameplay, Ability and Performance of a ship in game is very closely tide to the sales of those ships and CIG needs the Money it their main revenue.
So we will see released ships go up and down and back up with a rework or a gold pass and then come down again till they change something again in game like weapons, speed, dps, shields, armor etc and then we go up again en possibly down again.
Real balancing will begin in Beta but even when the game is Live things will change.
connie is way better. I hate flying the damn corsair but the connie is like a ballet dancer. .The firepower is plenty.

I agree completely. I would go for the andromeda due to the points you've said, its very valid, but i already own the phoenix.
Both corsair and andromeda are really equally matched, cant go wrong with either. I think at the end it comes down to styling, and i happen to like symetrical ships more. 😅

why are we comparing a small freight gunboat to a exploration ship?? this seems like a pointless comparison.
Probably because people use them for the same purpose. If you think that exploration ship isn’t a gunboat as well you missed all those weapons. It’s currently capable of exploring other ships cargo holds with them as well.
No offence, but this a dumb, ill educated video... Turrets are the same, capacitor for turrets are the same... DPS is WAY WAY WAY higher on the Corsair... - And on top of all that, Taurus is obviously the best Connie, so you even messed up in that regard... This video makes no sense whatsoever. This feels like: "I own a Connie right now so I'll convince myself it's better!"
Source: I do own Taurus AND Corsair currently and have also owned Andromeda and Aquila in the past...
Where I do agree is, that both are great ships... But between the two ships shown: Corsair is OBJECTIVELY better... Between Taurus and Corsair it's roughly equal... Taurus with slight cargo advantage and tractor beam, Corsair for the PewPews...
My opinion, but, the Constellation series over all is trash. The reason being is the interior layout, CIG needs to scrap the whole thing and start from scratch. It absolutely terrible, especially with all the newer ships showcasing how much better they have become at ship design as a whole. The Connie is an excellent ship, but the inside is just so depressing I can't go for it. But again, this is just my opinion, but hopefully since its an RSI, a complete rework is down the road somewhere.

The only reason the Constellation is better than any other ship of it's size is because it has CR's name attached to it. For example, when the 400i came out, it was supposed to be the only ship is size with a size 3 shield, not long after the Constellation got the same.
It has to be the ugliest ship in the game behind the Freelancer and it flies as well as it looks.
for me Corsair is so ugly I cant fly that
