The voice of the radio reporter they listened to in the Seaview's nose was that of Irwin Allen himself! A great first season episode, despite some improbabilities, featuring truly good performances from all of the principal cast!
I enjoy your commentary and interesting facts very much. I do hope you complete season one as I am especially interested to know your commentary on the Nelson - Crane dynamic in the episodes Mutiny, The Saboteur, The Enemies, and The Traitor.
@@dwashbur Why wouldn't they? You're a veritable fountain of information when you espouse on topics beyond the context of your subject show. Thank YOU for that!
Nelson's design of the Seaview was brilliant, but he forgot to include circuit breakers. There was one statement that really stuck with me, (not in this show) that whenever there are people starving, there's usually somebody with a gun making it happen.
I think this is the most youve shared with us about your personal affairs! ( at least in your retrospectives, separate from your life story vids obviously 😅) You truly are fascinating Irv & love hearing about your adventures & such. Much love my friend
The mad scientist tells the hero their plot before the heroes rally and take out the villain. The recruiting pitch is another classic. "Go with your father, Luke! Rule the galaxy! Leave those rebel losers behind!" -- A friend.
As far as Google tells me, no they can't. It makes sense, I don't think setting an EMP off in the water while YOURE in range isn't the smartest idea. But of course this is science fiction
Interesting question. "Real" subs aren't said to have this. On Voyage, Seaview has "attack generators" (description used once) that power "the charge through the hull". This was intro'd in the movie to dislodge a "giant octopus" in a scene near the end of the film. So obviously this impressive sequence would get reused. Several choice sequences from the movie were spun into later TV episodes.

Yes Your Right 👍

Some episodes are making their way through copyright limbo even as we speak. About 2 more weeks, maybe 3 depending.
Richard Carlson (Lars) learned about sea monsters in "The Creature from the Black Lagoon."
BTW, I learned a lot about octopi from this review. Thanks.
It lifts my heart when I hear that someone learned something from one of my videos. Thank you!

Brilliant video as always.

Captain Crane's hat stayed on, thus he's the good guy.

interesting about octopus
I know its the ocean, but what is that... 3 ir 4 Octopus & or Squid plots including the film. Cmon Irwin, get to other critters already! XD
I suspect it's jus Irwin reusing his props again, but I agree. Build some new ones!
Does anyone know if real submarines can do the trick of electrocuting things around them? The Seaview does that several times every season.
