Wrong. The kid attempted to flee with a pellet gun and was shot and killed for it.
@@Chris-yg6lo 🤔 ok I haven’t seen that video then just the one where they were riding bike wrong way cops stopped them to ask them about it at night and kid ran and while running pointing gun at cops. Fake or not it’s dark and cops shot more often. Safe to assume they’re not going to take any chances, I definitely wouldn’t take a chance if the gun is real or fake🤷🏻♂️

Why do people think it’s totally ok for an office to be killed but not a criminal?
This individual (who happened to be a teenager) had a Glock was running and pointed at police!
(No one knew it was an exact replica until AFTER) why are we as parents teaching our kids this behavior? Why are we allowing and making excuses for this criminal behavior? OUR COMMUNITIES and PARENTS ARE THE ONLY ONES RESPONSIBLE!!
Funny how they're out there mourning the loss. If these same people were approached by an individual with a real or fake gun they would be terrified and either shoot back or call 911.

This will be a case of people going after an officer who is NOT at fault. I hope this community teachers their kids that it's not a game to hold what appears to be a gun and point it at the officer whether it's day or night. Accountability is with the parents! This didn't need to happen!

I feel horrible for the police officer who shot him. A 13 year old knows better, unless they are disabled. Parents responsibility!
So tell me something. You think that the officers involved should be held accountable for their actions? I say no. If the 13 year old didnt run from the police or pull out the pellet gun he had ( which had no orange markings on the weapon) he would be alive today. The parents failed this kid so the parents are to blame for his death. Who in the right mind lets a 13 year old out after dark. It was after 10 in the evening when this kid was out, stopped by the police and then ran all while pointing that pellet gun at officers. He asked to be shot and he got what he asked for. play stupid games, win stupid prizes. The bodycam footage is out on the web for all to see. Again, The parents much less the Utica Community shouldnt be asking for anything for a 13 year old who lost his life over decisions he made. If anything, The Utica Community should be going after the parents of that 13 year old for letting him have a pellet gun with no markings, letting him out after dark which im pretty sure that there is a curfew law in the state of NY for those under the age of 18. I looked up Utica, NY's Curfew law and he clearly has violated that as the Curfew law for those under the age of 18 goes into effect at 10pm and ends at 6am. so Technically by all accounts, the parents can be arrested for child endangerment for the curfew violation. I have no sympathy for anyone who does not follow the laws laid out much less follow the commands of law enforcement especially when you run and present yourself as a hostile threat with hostile intentions. act accordingly and get dealt accordingly. its that simple. Again, Play stupid games....win stupid prizes in this case he lost his life.
Everyone is only focused on the fact that he was 13 but overlook the fact that he was out there with a fake gun and he DID turn around like he was about to shoot it's definitely a heart breaking situation on both sides but we all saw the video and unfortunately that 13yr old did it to himself because
1. He's out there walking around with a fake gun (why? what did he intend to do with it?)
2. He ran from the police
3. He turned around and pointed a fake gun at cops that have real guns
What did the family expect? For the cops to wait and be like "hey don't worry guys he didn't shoot when he pointed the gun at us it must be fake"
The family can't act like the cops already knew that the gun was fake my condolences to the family but they have to accept that their 13yr son brought this upon himself

My condolences and prayers .i have five gransons and we live in arizona they are teenagers ..our family does not let them have these toy or bb guns outside.because the way the world is now..my heartfelt prayers to the family and the policeman who shot him...

I am so tired of hearing how there should be justice for a kid who got shot after he runs away from police because they asked to pat him down and then pulls out a handgun. Whether it’s real or fake, point it towards police officers, you will get shot. Why are the parents not being held accountable? Parents are suppose to teach their children right from wrong, assuming those parents are around and not out drinking, getting high, producing more children that they cannot afford or out committing crime. Yet everyone is out protesting, putting the blame on someone else. Let’s not forget that those officers have families and their lives are just as important.

My opinion on this situation, I knew the kid personally. Sure, he must’ve panic and got scared and just ran because he knew he had a fake gun on him. But I think the officer didn’t mean to fire his service weapon. Patrick Husnay (The officer) that let off a shot, his body camera showed he went down to the ground and it just went off. In my opinion, he didn’t mean to pull the trigger.
So what I’m trying to say is, this was an accidental killing by the police. But I don’t think the officer will admit that. Sure, this was tragic, sure this kid may have did something he shouldn’t have, but I think both parties were in the wrong. And in the end, it seems like everything everyone does in life has consequences. So rest in peace for Nyah Mway, condolences to his family, and all we can do is wait and see until the investigation is over.
also, FYI, those two kids the officers stopped was not the Robbery suspects. 1) I know this because in the police report, the two suspects were on an Electric bike. and the two kids they stopped were on a regular bicycle heading home
2) the suspects were a1 Asian male and 1 black male. The officers stopped 2 Asian male.
Lastly, I know the actual 2 suspects. I’ll leave it at that.
