  • In this video, I will show you how to initialize the Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS). The first generation Toyota Highlander does not have the common Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The Toyota TPWS can be considered an indirect TPMS. With a TPWS, there is no sensor in the wheel. When you have put on new tires, you should initialize the TPWS.

On a 2007 Highlander Limited, follow the procedure while the engine is running

    Ok, well that was interesting.
Looks like my TPMS is missing inside of the tires.
I’m not sure where you get replacements

The Highlander in the video does not have the traditional TPMS that is connected to the valve stem. I guess that is why Toyota calls their system TPWS.
