Hello! I wonder if the inner structure board can be removed or is there any kind of structural o durability reason to keep it when riding. I ride a lot off road and like to keep everything as compressed as possible. Thank you in advance!
Hi, nice bags, worth of considering. I found some mentions that it(hypalon) is slash proof. It's not on your site, but in reviews and comments. So my question is how much protection it provide? I think it is from similar fabric as Mosko, that is possible to cut through in few seconds. Only other bags I found slash proof are Adv spec Magadan and Pacsafe(currently they are not producing much for motorbike). Can you compare level of security to their solution? Also how secure is Steelcore lock if bag is not full? Isn't it possible to collapse the bag and open it? Is it possible also to collapse and compress this bag same as Motobags? Does helmet fit in in 48l version?
Response from Lone Rider via mail Our luggage range uses hypalon, which is an extremely durable and waterproof performance elastomer (synthetic rubber) utilized in products designed for extreme use; such as whitewater rafts, containment suits, and other outdoor equipment. Mosko, on the other hand (along with ADV Spec and Pacsafe) uses high density nylon based fabrics such as Cordura. We would definitely say that hypalon is a much more durable material, and we believe that our level of security is higher than our competitors. From a design standpoint, I would say there are no such things as "slash proof" products - a motivated thief with enough time and the right tools will get through anything. I would say our luggage is extremely slash resistant. Here is a video done when our first version of the MotoBags was released. Featured here (at around 2:30) is our founder, Fred, stabbing enthusiastically our MotoBags, with not so much as a scratch as a result: ua-cam.com/video/JqDcujn5KEE/v-deo.html. For our Overlander bags, we included an exhaust/air release valve in the bag, allowing you to fully compress the bag and thread the Steelcore into the bag, so that it is completely secure. And yes, 2 helmets can fit into the 48L! If you feel the need to collapse the bag even further after it's been compressed by releasing the air, you may remove the structure board also, the same way as our MotoBags. I hope this will shed some light to your questions. If something was not clear or if you have any additional questions or concerns, please let me know! I would be happy to answer them.
Did you saw the youtube video were a guy opens the lock of this strap model in somehitng like 3 seconds very easy with no special tool? You may consider this twice after the view....
He uses some tool anyway. And not anybody knows how to do that. Sure this will not prevent people from stealing it, but it will prevent a random people doing it
@@LONERIDERMoto Thanks Steph for the quick response... By the way, is there a video that shows both the 48L and the 30L on the back of the bike...? trying to get a sense for how much bag is going to be sitting up there...
People will steal anything if it is convenient to do. Almost anything can be sold, so anything is worth taking. So, just keep it in mind when you travel.
Witch size you choose for the steelcore, 130cm or 180 for the overland bag? Thanks
Hello, I just found the answer on the comment below from Rob Gardner. Lone Rider replied 6ft => 180cm ;)
Where can I find the steel security bracket though?
Top !
Oú trouver cette sangle en France ?

Anyone can still take your beavertail, with all your documents, hydration pack and accessories.😄
I guess if you really have to go far from your bike better put the beavertail IN the bag :)
How long is the strap you are using and are they on your website?
Hi Rob. The Strap is 6ft and the link to the website in the description. You can oder direct from Steel Core

What size Overlander bag is that?
Hi David, this is the 48L Overlander. We do also have the smaller 30L version. Thanks, Steph

Will the shorter 4’6” cable still work on the 48L overlander and a standard GS mounting? There seems to be a lot of excess with the 6’ cable
@michael, did you ever find out? I just bought the 48L bag and would like to know the answer myself.
You have to buy the 6ft cable (or 180cm). Lone Rider replied to Rob Gardner about the length
So the beaver tail is not secured. Better not to put something valuable in. :) is the beaver tail something people will steal or usually not?
