Sliver is not adjustable - single thickness setting. Whisking, whipping and egg beating options also not available but you really need to ask yourself - how often do you use these?

Hi Thanks for your extensive reviews on Philips food processors. Just a quick question: how big is the food processing jar in liters? I want to know if I ca knead small quantities of dough. The Preethi food processor bowl is 2.1L and I think it’s too big for my needs. I’m trying to decide between Philips HL1661 and HL 7629 (whose processing jar is 1.2L). Please let me know.
It is a very interesting question - actually all these food processors have the same size jar, it is only technical aspects which force them to write 2.1 or 1.2L. I am using the Philips food processor HL1661 for a long time and I am very comfortable grinding dough for small quantities also - for 3 Chapatis.

Overall performance - HL 7707 is better. Atta kneading HL1661 is better

@@raviahuja92003 so far it is a good as new! I usually use it for chutneys (small steel jar) + dosa batter (large steel jar) + juices (plastic jar)...i dont use the food processor alot just very occasionally
@@raviahuja92003 but yes it is effective for a normal indian household...good enough..i would suggest to go for it...also i thnk there is a newer version..not sure tho..

Any machine will have a higher sound when using metal jars. It is normal

I recently got Philips 1661 food processor, can i use processor for grinding puran i.e cooked chana dal and cooked Jaggery that too hot in the processor bowl. Is the bowl polycarbonate?
i will not recommend that. You may use the steel jars for hot grinding but not the plastic jar.

No that option is not there... It can only cut very thin slices.

Hi Divya, we have just uploaded the unboxing video for HL7707. If ask our opinion, we would prefer the HL7707 over HL1661...
The kneading capacity of both is exactly same. You can knead atta for approx 25 roties easily in one go.

It is very durable and there is no problem with the service network. Philips has the best service network in India

Philips Processor Good for other Functions like slicing chopping in addition Quality of Motor good and Silent yet powerful. How ever Atta Dough Making Function very bad and messy, dough is not good, kind of sticky, Fault is dough making Blade too small hence does not spin dough properly failing to mix water and atta end result is sticky Glue like dough stuck on sides and blade. Blade fitting crude detaches from axis while spinning dough around, more over you will waste lot of time in cleanup. had a Singer Processor which did a excellent Kneading Job. Expected better from philips design team.
