1950s rpm lawn boy(iron horse) will it run after sitting many, many years??

- I recently picked up the vintage 1950s rpm lawn boy with the iron horse engine on it. I got it at an estate auction for only one dollar! ove wanted one of these for awhile and boy did the Lord bless me with this one. follow along as I try and find out if there's any life left in this old iron horse. thank you so much for watching and please subscribe, God bless you.
I had the same type mower 45 years ago and wish I had it now. It mowed great, was very light and would go around trees and shrubs very easily. I could start it by twisting it with my hand. I just went through the engine on my 1967 Lawnboy D 408 engine and am waiting for the exhaust gasket to get it going again. It's another great old Lawn Boy.
I'm not sure they ever made a bad lawn boy. The old iron horse is tough to beat unless it's a bricktop. Really glad it brought back some memories for you. Thank you for watching God bless.

I was lucky my dad was a mechanic in the 80's. He taught me what i know about cars and motorcycles

That is awesome you saving this motor you'll get it once you get that tank clean lawn mower is broke down like the motor went lawn mower the motor blew on it turn on my tractor to coil one on it so I haven't gotten to watch your videos lately but I'm on it now thank you for the video

When I was a kid someone gave me a 1954 lawnboy in a box. I put it together with new rings and used it for about 20 years until I could no longer fix all the cracks in the deck.

Do they have farm auctions in the UK? I've gotten some really great deals at farm auctions. I'm praying you find what your looking for.
@@gregsmowersandmore5878 Hi Greg, tbh I'm not really sure.. I live in a small town and don't have any personal contacts in the rural community.. I only have a small workshop so I mainly repair chainsaws, disc cutters and small two stroke garden machinery.. This time of year I do get a few push mowers too.. I stopped half way thru the video when you was having trouble with the ignition system. From what I can see this is an old omc engine. You can find that coil on small Evinrude or Johnson outboard motors. Maybe you get it running later in the video. I'll watch it to the end to see.
Alpha, I do manage to get spark out of it and do get it to pop off for a few seconds in this video. Part two will be out Sunday and I get it going the rest of the way in that video. Really appreciate you watching and commenting. God bless.

The petcock comes apart and there's a screen in the tank
I did wind up taking it apart and cleaning it. The old fuel and oil had broken down and congealed in it. It was bad to say the least. Thank you for the help and for watching. God bless
