Yo Todd! I've recently rediscovered the Audix D6 and I like it alot! I use it (centered) inside the kick which gives a perfect (in my opinion) blend of attack and low end. The "smily face" freq response of the D6 is of course a acquired taste, but if you're in to rock or heavier stuff it does the job. The D6 actually removes my normal need to use two kick mics, which is a nice bonus! //Markus
Thanks for the comment. For me, the D6 is a little too much most of the time, but I agree, right inside helps to capture more click and less “sub boom”. Of course, I had to find one neutral position to represent all the mic, otherwise the video would have been over 30 minutes long. 😉
