Can you control the speed of the fans that are plugged into the hub individually with a app like Fan Control? I want to have different speeds on my front fans and bottoms.
No, u can’t do anything. It’s a $50 fan hub that everyone else makes for literally $10-$15, that isn’t even enclosed. lol they’re robbing tf out of everyone.
It's not a smart fan hub. If you want to have individual RPM control over Front, Side and Top fans you'll need 3 Hubs and plug each one of them into a different header on your motherboard.
@@squall6789so you cant adjust them individually?? It is useless then. I was looking to buy this to have 3x exhaust at different speed than intake and cpu at different speed!
can you run this controller without a PC or with a Raspberry Pi? I'm trying to figure out a fan solution for my network rack which has raspberry pis in it among a lot of network gear but not sure if this will work.
so it's either sata powered (54w) not pwm controlled, or pwm controlled (but maxed at 24w) only ? can i use both ? so i can use sata to power (54w max), and the pwm to control all the fans ?
@@PCCrazyDario thanks for the info. finally decided to buy it and just finished installing it few minutes ago. it works just as you say, sata for power while pwm control the speed. +1 subs from me. 👍
Using it with SATA only makes alot of sense, as this will skipp the motherboard all together and should be more stable in cause you bought an Asus motherboard that randomly decide to stops the PWM fans from time to time. From the manual at Noctua this option will require the addition of NA-FC1 to controll the fans.@@PCCrazyDario
@@Kjeilen I don't know about ASUS boards since I don't use them. SATA + PWM works perfectly fine on MSI and ASRock boards. No shenanigans like on ASUS. NA-FC1 is optional if you don't want to use PWM control. And of course, I stated all of this in the video, except for the motherboard brands.
Hi I found this little thing on aliexpress, can this be safe for my motherboard? I have a processor cooler that I need to connect to 5 volts, but I only have 12 volts argb on the motherboard, can I safely connect that thing to my motherboard and then connect the cooler I have arctic freezer arg to that fun adapter?
I would only try that if you’re using the SATA power. I don’t know exactly how much current you can draw just from your motherboard header but it would be a good challenge to see how many fans you can split before your motherboard starts smoking.
Ok, I checked the specifications on Noctua’s website. There’s a self-resetting fuse which will prevent drawing too much current. The 5v header can handle up to 24w and the 12v SATA can handle up to 54w. Just look at the label on your fans. Just add up the wattages on your fans and make sure it doesn’t exceed the wattage rating. Since there’s a self-resetting fuse, you can push the limit if you’re feeling adventurous.
I really likes how Noctua hides all the electrical components and circuitry underneath the pcb. Thanks for the walkthrough!.
Quite nice, isn't it. Thanks for the comment.

All same speeds since only one signal is coming in the control from the motherboard
ok 👍👍 thanks for taking the time to respond!@@PCCrazyDario

@godnamedtay I have had the cheaper ones and they never last.
How much current is each fan header rated for? I don't understand why fan hubs, including this Noctua, almost never state this important info.
Will the fans increase/decrease speed as temperatures rise and fall? If not, any pointers on how to do this would be great :)
Yeah, you adjust the curve in BIOS.
@@PCCrazyDario are all the fans limited to one shared curve? If I have 3 fans on a radiator and 2 as case fans can they have different curves?
Works for 2 fans (3 pins) of the case & 2 fans (4 pins) of the radiator's liquid cooler (nzxt x53)
So you can control all them fans using the hub running off the motherboard fan header and and without sata power ?
same question here

Can you control all using the Noctua NA-FC1, 4-Pin PWM Fan Controller?
Yes, they will be controlled all at the same time.

I honestly don't know about availability in Japan, sorry. :/

No, they are all running at the same speed.

Nevermind, just read the other comments. This seems kinda useless in 2024...
Yeah pretty lame! I want my front intake fans to speed at slightly different speeds to have less noise( what apple does for Mac Pro )

does it have a physical dial on the hub to control the fan speed manually ?
no, bios or a fan controlling app.
i going buy it i have a good reason nzxt fan hub is to weird and i have 8 fans in my h6 flow build 2 are 140mm

nope

When you use SATA for more power, you also use the PWM to control the speeds. So yes, you can use both. Otherwise, only SATA doesn't make sense.

CPU fan header

No, but you have a PWM input from the MBO to the hub.
