A native of Syria, Abdullah moved to Jordan when the civil war started. After spending a few months there waiting for visas and paperwork to be filled, he arrived in the UK in 2012. After charming guests at a bank holiday party with his Syrian dishes, Abdullah started a catering service. He has also been running the Damascus Chef pop-up dinners in Hither Green, southeast London. His Bedouin upbringing influenced Abdullah's relationship with food and continues to inspire his cooking.
