- This video, from Poland in 1995, starts in Grodzisk Wlkp. where Ty45 no 279 has just finished shunting and collecting a lot of grain wagons to bring to Wolsztyn.
There are some problems with the brakes in the rear of the train so the departure of the freight train is delayed. It has to wait for a meeting train from Wolsztyn.
There are some Norwegian steam locomotive drivers on the Ty 45. They are having steam locomotive training. This was arranged in collaboration with the Polish Railways.

Superb video. When we all thought it would go on for a year or two at most and it is STILL just hanging on in 2021. 2020 was the first year I hadn't visited Wolsztyn since 1990 and I am missing it so much. A pale shadow of what it was back then but it is still there. Just.

Thank you Petter for this pair of films, well captured! Couldn't get a clear count of how many wagons were on the complete freight train but could see that the trailing load was at least 1000 tonnes if the wagons were full - did you have any record of the actual figure? \m/
No I dont. I dont have any video scene or photo where it is possible to see the end of the train. (!)
