Much Respect! Today, I live in 5 bedroom home, two cars in the driveway and I am a Minister in the Church; But i was homeless on those same streets you walked down......i spend most of my days on the streets, and in Bryant Park and Port Authority. To see someone come out of their comfort zone, to walk the streets to make the homeless feel a sense of being loved, brought tears to my eyes. Most people shy away from the homeless with a air of condescension, not wanting any of them to actually rub shoulders with them!, never mind sharing a hug! Big Up to you!

@@humblewiz4953 because the system sucks. They take something from the people and can't live. Like taxes. Bills. They pay more and more for nothing. It's not his fault. All the money that government was stealing all these years people would work much less with much more money..
The first guy couldn't even accept a free shirt because he has nowhere to put it. He has to carry everything he owns with him, everywhere he goes. The only resources he can accept are the ones he needs immediately
The only way back on your feet is someone giving you a place to live long enough to get everything straight and get a job and then save up.
The only way to fix homelessness, is to fix the system that allows companies to make billions off the backs of the poverty class workers they employ (and become rich off of, while paying less than a liveable wage)

The thing that bugs me is when people do acts of kindness but record it and put it on the internet so they can get a pat on the back. If someone else records it and uploads it its different, not when you go out of the way to make a video of yourself doing these things. Feels weird.

The shyness your talking about is not what you think ...take it from one that's homeless... they feel like they're at a low actually Excepting things like that from random people on the street is the lowest you can get as a human.. I'm homeless and even I wouldn't beg for money on the street never did ,never will.. people actually have tried to give me things and I don't take them ... The only thing I might take is cash or a meal... It just means they are absolutely desperate.. If you also notice a lot of the homeless aren't even begging for $$$$ They're just sitting there.. I would think people are pretty much all the same I don't live in a big city I live in Arizona at least it doesn't get too cold here but man does it get hot in the summer it can still get cold in the winter but not relentlessly cold.. I'm from the Phoenix metro area
It comes with mental health problems, they have probably low self esteem and don't feel they deserve.
