I am not a fisherman- Only been hand fishing a few times. Aka "Trout tickling " But i am curious, how come you don't kill them immediately and put them on ice? What is the purpose of putting the string through their necks? When I've been hand fishing, I was taught to take a knife and sever the nerve from the brain, basically severing their spinal column - Supposedly it's the most humane way to kill them.
Stringers are fairly common in my home state. Keeps the fish fresh without the need for a cooler. Most of the places I go we could carry a cooler but alot of the times we do a ton of walking and don't want to lug a cooler.
Should knock the fish out then place in a bag in the water to keep them fresh more humane and the fish stressing on the rope ruins the taste of the meat abit aswell
Fun trip! We have golden trout here but I have never caught one...Yet!
I want to catch that golden Trout my pond just stocked it 2 days ago
Very nice trout slayer!
Trout are very common back east even if there stocked I moved out to the Midwest and there a specialty stamps and all.
we have to buy a stamp even to fish for stocked fish, but you're right super common. We have some wild trout streams around too.
