I love the P42 much more, but I may decide on one of these at a later time. Good job Kato, can't wait to see the TTX maxi stacks this month, have 20 sets to get.
Same! I’m dying to know if they’re still producing one as well, it was tentatively announced more than a year ago and I’m a bit concerned that they’ve gone silent about it
I got one of your starter sets recently, the detail and quaility is incredible. Good value for money. I was kind of a skeptic, as I mostly do o scale, but you proved me wrong. Thanks for the trains 👍
Maybe you could add siemens venture cars and sc-44 charger locomotives? Also,I wish you could do the gen 1 and gen 2 acelas.I wish you could be the bachmann of n-scale in that you offer a lot of n-scale stuff where bachmann falls short. Also I loved the detail on my p42 and superliner starter set.
You guys make incredible products! I never had any problems or anything negative to say about any of your products at all. The only thing I wish that you would improve on would be your selection of Road names. Commuter rail specifically. Lots of interesting locomotives and equipment in commuter rail. As I love the Metra and VRE etc. Those are great sets! And I know there have been customs and small Productions of other commuter services with the same locomotives that suit the ones I mentioned above. But much more use those same locomotives, and even ones that don't such as a GP-2 pH which I think was produced would be a heavy seller for the East Coast North American Market as those locomotives are used today and were used on practically all of the North American East Coast Commuter rails throughout the years. It will be a great addition! Of course there are small variations to this locomotive depending upon which commuter rail service its services. But with all that in mind small things.. it would be great to have those commuter sets that you guys put out already in Road names such as Metro North New Jersey Transit the MBTA SEPTA MARC all will be incredible to have!! All that being said again incredible products and I always look forward to your stuff coming out! The locomotive above looks great! Pretty sure that lots of commuter rails might be purchasing a variation of this locomotive in the future. It'll be really cool to see those Road names made by you guys. And not have to go for the other companies with inferior workmanship usually on the trucks and couplers haha! Half kidding it's all good great stuff Love Trains!
Me too. Since I live in the Midwest, most of the short distance Amtrak trains I’ve seen now use only the SC44 Charger and I would want to see one made so I could model one os these short distance trains.
Looks great. I have the Class 800/0 in GWR colours in N scale. Do you know where I can post suggestions to Kato? I would like to suggest a Class 185 in N scale for the UK. I hope Kato will do more UK trains.
Hi Kato I love the new Siemens ALC-42 Charger it is look good so far as for the add-on lighting parts for the rear Grills I think it should be fitted in the factory so people don't have to pull the body apart and damage thing because not everybody has the confidence to be able to do so ? P.S Good video cheers
the only issue with those new snap in truck and towers, is the TINY little O rings that sit before and after the worm gear. Those little buggers just LOVE to jump if your not looking for them when pulling the truck out.
Not to Bad of Engine actually has Character of its own Micheal I am going to Miss though the P42's they had a Great long Run.. when there all Phased out from the Amtrak's Roster but I guess its time to move on and give them a Good Farwell & for some of the Engines I'd say they'll find uses for them in other Railroads or few Museum's On the Model And it being a New Product you mentioned the position of the Engine one of the Drives or Dog Bones is going to be shorter than the other with that being Said is there Going to be enough Stock on Hand should a Modler need a one of these offset Shafts or Trucks or Truck parts since there a New in Design as I mentioned its neat to see any new model coming out but almost a must to have a good supply of parts if need arises to replace or fix broken part.. Yeah it would be nice if KATO would remember to do HO scale once in a while I guess that’s why we’re switching over to other brands because they never make anything at HO anymore. of course scale trains or as some people know it by rivet counter beats the pants off of KATO anymore far as detail goes.
Any chance u guys be making the other charger locomotives sc-44 amtrak midwest scheme
Any chance of a VIA set coming?
I hope they do, they'd probably sell like hot cakes!
Please do VIA Rail too! I will love to see them running along with my future Amtrak set.🙂
I love the P42 much more, but I may decide on one of these at a later time. Good job Kato, can't wait to see the TTX maxi stacks this month, have 20 sets to get.
I hope Kato will make a *HO Scale* model of the ALC-42 Charger too! I'd LOVE that!❤ Looks great! Keep up the great work Kato!!😊

We intend to. It will come after the Big Boy.
@@KatoUSAinc You just made me a *VERY HAPPY* Modeler!!!🤩❤🎆
@@KatoUSAinc your making an ho scale big boy
@@KatoUSAinc will that be an n scale or ho scald big boy?!
I hope these will be as widely available as the p42s were. I would love to get 301 and I'm worried I might miss out
YYYYEEEESSSS!!! FINALLY!! PLEASE TELL ME YOU GUYS ARE MAKING THE SURFLINER CARS IN N-SCALE!
Chill with the caps, foamer. And these aren’t even the Surfliner engines
I hope the ditchlights will be ready for alternating flashing and independent on/off from the numberboard lighting with a DCC or Sound Decoder.

That grill detail looks awesome
This looks awesome!! I hope you guys eventually do the Amtrak Midwest SC-44 as well!
Me too. Since I live in the Midwest, most of the short distance Amtrak trains I’ve seen now use only the SC44 Charger and I would want to see one made so I could model one os these short distance trains.
Awesome overview! Any plans for an SC-44 to go with it?
I hope they include Caltrans if they do one.
No more waiting please make a update on the Kato Big Boy. A pre production sample to show
Are we going to be getting a brightline trainset once these are done?
Taking pre-orders now!
Nice that you can put in the lighting kit for the interior. Can an FR-11 chip also fit in that area with the lighting kit?
When will you be making the phase 7 alc-42?
Exciting news for the Amtrak modelers .

Awesome, love the day 1 paint scheme..
I hope when you do the ho scale version you add alot more detail to those sideframes
Do you plan to make them available in Amtrak Cascades livery?
when is these new kato engines going to be in stock?

It’s literally the easiest thing ever. The shells are very durable. You’d have to try to break it
I'll definitely be picking this up! Are y'all gonna do more EMD engines? And smaller steamers?
Well there be a complementary passenger set?? Or sold in a set??
Yes to both, these will be sold in a set with Superliners as well as with a separate bookcase style set of Amtrak cars.
Hi Guys, when can we expect the christmas video? And also we miss H0 Stuff. Thank you
Definitely a good one. I’ve actually seen a Real ALC-42. The number I saw is the 307.
Great looking model. The additional lighting should just come with the train as in normal service they light the generator section always.
These look great! Will just the plain silver undercoat with dark roof be available? Without Amtrak livery?
They will be painted Amtrak ... the word is still out on whether we'll have undec bodyshells available through parts.
This will definitely be going on my Christmas list 🥵🥵🥵
Sameee
Agree 🙂
I might consider buying one of these! Will you make a video about the official release? If so tag me if can! Thank you for the amazing products!💯
What is the speaker size that will fit into the fuel tank?
the only issue with those new snap in truck and towers, is the TINY little O rings that sit before and after the worm gear. Those little buggers just LOVE to jump if your not looking for them when pulling the truck out.
i can't wait for Amtrak Surfliners if they are to be available in stores soon
This isn’t the Surfliner engine
Very excited for this! Excellent work!
Any upcoming locomotives for next year
What size speaker size does the fuel tank take?
Thanks!
Can't wait!!!
N scale Tier 4 UP? N scale AC6000 UP? N scale Dash 8-40CW UP..... Cuando van a realizar esos modelos?
Will there be one of these in the Amtrak California paint scheme? Or are those sc-44s
Those are SC-44s, the ALC-42's are specifically Amtrak's long distance engines that are designed to replace the P42 in general service.
@@KatoUSAinc ok, that’s what I thought but I wasn’t sure. Hope you guys get an sc-44 out at some point
Wow awesome 😎 I can’t wait for it to come out 👍

Yes
