x D is a laughing out loud face and was used by dominos pizza as a company car.. it is also great for delivery because the seats go forward.. don't underestimate this great hatchback..
great little money maker. for a plain gas car, its also excellent on gas.. I agree though its not the car for rough terrain but given the type of driver you are Id say its still a good little money maker..
4 speeds are reliable, and keep cost of the car down.In this segment, good reliability and low purchase cost is more important than performance or fuel economy.
Are you talking about 4 speed automatic or a 5 speed stick? (there is no 4 speed stick these days). Toyota makes great transmissions regardless of stick or auto.
Hey don't worry we'll still have the venerable 4 speed for years to come, the new Corolla comes with the 4 speed for the basic models, you have to pony up for the top of the line to get a CVT, not much better IMHO
What type of cars similar to the xD would you recommend, given the xD's old age and mediocre handling? I currently own an '08 xD and am looking for a small, yet fuel efficient car for I work in the city.

Why do you find it so bad? I guess I would get a Yaris iA, but it won't likely be as reliable as a fun blown Toyota like your XD since it is Mazda at Heart.
I'm still in my '13 xB, has served me well.
Still rolling in my 09 xd.
I drive the piss out of it.
The best car in the world

@@djkenny1202 im pretty sure he means the 4speed auto. the 5 speed manual would be even more reliable
I saw one of these parked at a Walgreen's drug store yesterday. It was great looking. Definitely better looking than the Kia Soul.
I thought you were reviewing the xD, not the iQ.

The xA is the predecessor of the xD but these are older than the xD
Honda fit
You make it sound like a bad thing, Pedro.
Not IQ its a xd
Yeah. What would you recommend instead?
Corolla Xrs or Matris Xrs. A lot more sporty & still excellent mpg
Scion X:treme D:elivery
I've had this 2014 for four months now and totally disagree with his review of this car.
Take a Yaris, give it a better interior, a Corolla engine and you got an xD!!!
pedrof830 I owned a Yaris and it is VERY similar to the Yaris. I’d pass
4 speed automatic in 2013? More gears would help with acceleration and fuel economy.

Toyota Yaris

@@djkenny1202 Mitsubishi Mirages kick ass in mpg. Great owner reviews MirageForum.com
