- Is the 2020 Bourbon County Stout the best vintage ever? Well as you can see, we certainly think it's worthy of discussion! We were lucky enough to get an early sneak peek of the 2020 Bourbon County Stout base variant and wow, it does not disappoint! Aged in the same three types of bourbon barrels as the 2019 Bourbon County Stout, Heaven Hills, Buffalo Trace, and Wild Turkey, our first thought was the 2020 Bourbon County Stout would be very similar, well it's not...It's BETTER! This does bode well for the rest of the 2020 Bourbon County Sout variants and we will also have them for you as well. Sounds good. I was considering passing on this years variant after 2019 was a bit of a let down. With the cost being approx 27 USD to get in the UK, it really has to be worthwhile. May well take the risk
Mick that is a steep price in the UK for this and only you can determine if it's worth paying for again this year, but we will say this, the 2020 base variant is the best we have tasted in many years. Hopefully, you get that from our video. If you do grab one, please come back and tell us what you think? Really Bumpy? Its still available down here...even some of the variants. Keep.looking because one of our local stores got stocked with a second shipment this week.
Hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving.. went to Total wine and More in San Jose today, they had every variant except Proprietors .. the standard stout was no limit to purchase, and all the rest were one to a. Customer.. got them home, had to make room in the fridge, so I opened the 2017 stout.. take care!

The 2020 is so much better for me personally, it has become my favorite barrel aged, but I think I got a line on some KBS. Can't wait to compare them!

So those rich fudgy/chocolate flavors come from the roasted grains and barrels used to age the beer. It is so amazing how that happens without adding any chocolate into the actual beer! Gina i hope you get out on Black Friday and grab a bottle would love to hear what you think of it. Cheers friend!

This is great. Last year i procured a couple of bottles before Black Friday. This year, likely not. But I hope to grab some original and as many variants I can snag on Black Friday. I also look forward to your Bourbon County and variant reviews. PS- Did you guys get your hands on the KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge variant. If so, that is a world class beer you should post a review on. 2019 was great after 6 months to a year in the bottle!
We did a 3-year vertical review (18, 19 and 20) and 19 did improve like you said, stay tuned for that video to see how 2020 stacked up to an aged 18 and 19 Bourbon County Stout. Cheers!

Hey there That Guy. If you have a bottle capper and just want to save it for the day, I'm the carbonation should hold. Only thing you have to worry about really is oxidation, but if its a day that should not be an issue. Cheers!

Why is there a difference in abv between the BCBS's? And does it affect the taste?
Most likely the different barrels used for the variants and also bases each year. It usually does not affect the taste very much. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving Lando!
