@NostalgicMem0ries You may have your opinion, but a lot of people wouldn't agree. I still think Cha cha cha was the most awesome song ever. Might forever be my favourite of all time.
Actually Cha Cha Cha was the 2nd in the Eurovision song contest. It had the most ppl's vote and in my book it was a real winner. The jury gave more votes to Sweden's song. That's why Cha Cha Cha got 2nd place.
Lordi comes from Rovaniemi, which is a small city (65k residents) located in Lapland right on the Arctic Circle. When they won the national competition and were chosen to represent Finland in the Eurovisions, they celebrated by having a gig at home, and I was there. It was a small club, and the pyros were insane 🧨🎇. I don't know how they were allowed to do it, but I loved it ❤. When they won the whole Eurovision, they had a big celebration in Rovaniemi. I doubt that the main square has seen more people at once before or after that. The square was renamed Lordi Square 😂. Their hand prints were put on a concrete slab, and to this day, it's still hanging there.
I was at a Lordi concert last year! They played all of their repertoire ... Last song? Hard Rock Hallelujah! All was singing along! It felt like the roof was lifting! ^^
You hit the nail on the head. Mr. Lordi is a huge KISS-fan :D Lordi was founded on 1992. Still gigging, saw them last summer. Mr. Lordi makes the costumes himself.
After they won a Finnish news paper published an article with pictures of the band without the costumes and the Finnish people was so mad the paper risked going out of business.
@@nocturne7371 It was 2 tabloid magazines named 7 Seiska and Katso. But many news channels and papers tried to get pictures to but where not able to get as clear pictures as those 2.
Thanks, this was fun! 😂Finland never scores in the Eurovision song contest, but in 2023 Finland almost won the competition with "Cha Cha Cha" by Käärijä. 💚💚💚 People all over Europe absolutely loved it and voted for it, even learned to sing it in Finnish, but the official jury did not give much points, and so it became second, loosing to "Tattoo" by Loreen from Sweden.
Good reaction! This was a good song. I still like more older Lordi's songs, but as a finnish guy, this is something to show to other countries that this our fkin' best side
I don't watch the Eurovision, but I made an exception that year because it was so off beat. The funny thing is that my mother, who was 70 years old at the time and more of an Elvis Presley fan, loved their act!
Fun fact about Lordi is that lead singer Tomi Putansuu is a big fan of KISS and that was a big part why Lordi decided to go Full monster look as a band.
As a big Kiss fan, Putaansuu (Mr. Lordi) founded a fan club called Kiss Army Finland. In 1996, it organized a fan tour to Stockholm, where Kiss, who returned to the original line-up, arrived to perform for the first time in 13 years in black and white face makeup. That cruise was significant in Lord's history because it was where all the members of Lord's first full line-up met for the first time.

Hi! Good me 52-yo Finnish woman here. I'm a person who actually prefers classical music and opera to any of this. Never listened to any hard rock, heavy or techno in my life as a young person. Yet I could listen to Finnish hard rock/heavy metal bands on loop. Why? Because they have a melody. When my nephews were like 1 and 3.5 at max I played 'Räyh' by a Finnish metal band called Hevisaurus for them on loop. They could not get enough of it. I have videos of the little boys who today are 13 and 17 dancing to that tune. ¨ I still rock to Käärijä when I go mushroom picking. That's just Finland.
You should react to the Finnish Love metal band "HIM", they were quit popular in states too an d of course in everywhere in Europe too. Here few songs of them with video: Wicked Game(Chris isaak cover), Join me in death, gone with the sin, wings of the butterfly and When love and deat embrace. :)
Suggestion: Marko Hietala and his song Impatient Zero. 😊💜 Or Amorphis and their song the Bee. (may be okay to watch the official lyrics video on that one)
Next from Finland. Battle Beast NOORA LOUHIMO. Wher Angels Fear To Fly official music video. Bearwood - Rise Above & Marko Hietala official music video 2024.
I just remember the interview, where Mr Lordi says "we smell like we look" 😂 because that year, Eurovision was in Greece and it was +40C 😂😂😂 The main vocalist's wife did the costumes, I think. Someone correct me on that, if I'm wrong.
