    Low-cost bullet trains are a fantastic idea, especially for the environment. Not many countries have managed to implement them successfully so far, but France seems to have figured it out. Great video once again!

      Thanks! Yes, their concept seems to work quite well as an alternative to low-cost airlines and buses.

    SNCF was enterprising to introduce Ouigo. Originally it copied Ryanair by operating only at out of town stations but Ouigo became so popular that its network was expanded and it began serving some Paris termini. UK's equivalent is Lumo but the latter is slightly more upmarket with onboard catering and no charge for luggage (although luggage space is limited).

    Sounds like a great alternative to the cramped, slow Flix bus. Bon voyage Jack.

    On busy lines SNCF have cleaning people on board to save the time of clearing as wait time. Thses are sub contractants. ouogo is a great solution to travel from Paris to any major cities. No reasons to do otheways... Only need to have a good cell operator with service along the rails and bring some food/drink 🎉

    Excellent video. I traveled this month in October with OUIGO twice two weeks apart and I can only unfortunately note the deterioration in cleanliness in the trains compared to when I took it last year in July 2023, which is really deplorable

    Nice thumbnail. Hope you like your train ride with low price, departing and arriving on time, even though the floor needs to be clean.

    Great video again, can't believe how ahead France are with their trains compared to other places. Caught a 30 gbp tgv from biarrtiz-bordeaux and the space, speed wifi and comfort were all top noch. In the uk trains are dated, slow and over priced. Paid the same amount from chester-manchester airport and there wasn't even a food car

    Nice review! In the UK, we don't have a fast and cheap bullet train, so I am a bit jealous, despite the dirtiness.

      Lumo is UK's nearest equivalent to France's Ouigo and has found favour with travellers. It's certainly fast (not high-speed though) and tickets are low-cost when booking ahead. SE Trains runs 140 mph 'bullet trains' from StPancras into Kent.

    • @JamesKeller1993
      @JamesKeller1993 4 місяці тому

      @alexmcwhirter6611 Lumo is quite a lot slower, though, and their network isn't as vast.

      @@JamesKeller1993Thanks for the reply. Yes Lumo has that one prestigious route but it wants to extend service to Glasgow and start a new service from Greater Manchester to London Euston. By contrast SNCF can do more or less as it wants in France. I believe where Ouigo is badly needed is Paris-London (perhaps using the original Alstom sets) where Eurostar *can* cost more than a flight CDG-LHR. Earlier this year my son had to travel Paris-London at short notice. BA wanted £50 + whereas Eurostar standard class was around £200. These are one-way prices.

      @@alexmcwhirter6611I agree, Eurostar tickets can be ridiculously expensive.

    Judging by the way the water was moving in that toilet was the ride is not as smooth as the Chinese bullet trains. The cabin looks awful. In oui is very nice.
    Thanks for the review

      Less than 5 kg of CO2, and probably about 400 kg for the same trip by plane. And from door to door the time is the same, and you can work in the train (or do what ever you want).
