This is the most reliable setup, proven to 280kW-320kw 250 walbro fuel pump Upgraded gauge to fuel pump T28 Ball bearing turbo (from s15 jdm) Z32 maf intake (3" intake) MLS headgasket ARP headstuds 1000cc injectors Fuel rail upgrade 3" down pipe A quality exhaust mainfold E85 NisTune / apexi HiCas delete (its 4wd steering otherwise) Simple setup without opening the head. The KEY thing to SRs is LET THEM BREATH. Tomei poncams are drop in, no need to do head work. If you run agressive cams, you need to head, which would make it super choppy and fun. Check your intake pipes for oil. If its got oil, its not blowby, you don't need a catch can. If its been running 32 psi its got blown valves, it will hold coolant and run fine, but the valve will be stuck and it will sound choppy / cammed / stall out after cranking. Ask me how i know.... edit: after watching the video, that's blown buddy, take apart the head. It doesn't sound healthy.. Edit: sorry Matt, but this isnt 90s nissan things. I've had multiple S and R chassies and they were fine. That's bodgy modders breaking things. Should avoid running it until you do the head, otherwise say hello to low comp soon...

All that thing needs a tune, you said you buddy imported it himself and just drove it and it's still on a apexi so it's still tuned for the high Japanese octane there fuel octane is much higher than ours so just tune related (every skyline I've ever imported needed to be retuned for our octane levels)
If the turbo seals were done it would blow thick white smoke constantly, also the temp gauges and thermostats on these cars don't show past half on the gauge until its already too late and the engine is cooking itself, I'm from NZ and grew up with 90's to 2000s jdm cars trust me the head gasket is sus don't drive it.
I was the one who was going to trade him an e30 for it until I saw the milky oil. It’s a really nice car I just didn’t wanna take the chance trading my working car for one with a blown head gasket. Glad you ended up with it!
If you can find a local wood mill that produces railroad ties. They cut the ends off to square up the ties and it produces these small slab pieces that burn super clean, leaves little ash and stack better than split wood. It’s before the railroad ties are soaked with creosote of course as you wouldn’t want burn the soaked creosote. I just get a truck bed full, if you can find them you won’t be disappointed.

Water is heavier than oil the water wud be on the bottom oil wud be on top. That's why when there is actually water and oil mixing when you pull the drain plug it's water that comes out first.

You should get with Jimmy Oaks and put a Linx on it and have him tune it. You will need to clean the oil out of the inter cooler. Looks like a good CX are. The could have told him head gasket to try and buy it cheaper in the beginning and dude just took his word
Headgasket can fail between fluid ports and still be fine for combustion/compression. Youll know if it overheats at cruising rpm in top gear. Also look for bubbles in coolant overflow if in doubt and change coolant temp sensor.

Love it, you are lucky the engine run's ok, one suggestion, get one of those wood pellet fireplace thingy's those pellets are a lot cheaper then wood and uses a lot less tbh, i got two of those things in my vacation house in sweden, and it heat's up a two story house in a couple of minutes, while it is freeshing -20 celcius in the winter right now there, because i dont have gas around there...
Its prob to cold to show an issue if its the head gasket. Need to make sure there is no detonation and the afrs are right before boosting it. Hopefully its the turbo.
guys take the turbo intake pipe off and see if the turbo impeller has play in it and see there is oil in it also get a head gasket tester the type you put the chemical in and test it on the radiator coolant to see if it changes color cheers from down under
I had an engine that would only leak on a 1/4 mile pass. Leaked cylinder pressure into the coolant and would lift the rad cap some to spray a bit of coolant in the engine bay But otherwise drove/ran fine forever! Best case scenario head gasket leak, not all mix fluids.
Hey bud just so you know if it was a head gasket when you pull the drain plug for the oil you will always get coolant first then oil! Coolant always settles at the bottom of the oil

It can still be a head gasket. If it's burning it and not mixing, will take awhile to overheat. Once it burns all the coolant, then it will overheat. Keep an eye on oil color, and coolant level.
I’ve bought 4 mazdaspeeds just because I loved the platform cheap and easy to make 400whp but man buying my is300 manual was a awesome buy can’t wait to learn and make it into my first drift car also the value of the car is going crazy just because it has a 2jz motor in it idk if I want to keep it stock and drift the f out of it or boost it and drift it and hopefully it doesn’t blow but that’s a lot more money idk if I want go spend or not
Be careful with fuel when compression testing, the fuel can deteriorate the seals in your compression tester and lead to false readings. Don’t want to pull a good engine for low compression when it’s actually fine
Not saying the head gasket is there is not your issue but I will say that if you put ceratech and your motor it will give you that milky look if not even brighter than that happened on a car that I bought and I put like 30,000 miles on that car without putting ceratech in it

End of video car sounded like it had a high idle. Maybe vacuum leak or sticky throttle. I think u should 100% go over the hole car bolt check and all. Bet u will find a bunch of issues.
Love following Matts Joruney I am assuming Matt is on a Calorie Deficit which can make lead to "I was struggling with a 30 when I normally do 35" When I started at 240 I was doing higher weights then I dropped to 170 and during that I had to lower weights. Now with bulking and cutting I am working my way to do that weight with out the fat. Form and Control > Weight Everytime, its very easy to ego lift in the begining please dont be ashamed to use low weight. I've been lifting for 2 years now and there is still plenty of times I use a 10 or 15lb weight for High-rep sets that give me a far better burn then a high weight. Especially arms its good to push yourself but your arms do not need high weight for good stimulation and growth I would be much happier to see you using 20-25lbs with perfect form and contol vs swing 35 or 30's around injurying yourself. I HIGHLY recommend the youtube channel Renaissance Periodization to learn about proper lifting techniques and tips. Please don't give up on your journey!
