I love how you don’t pause and restart the video. You just listened quietly and absorbed the music. This is my favorite song ever I’m so glad you enjoyed it
Thank you! (I was the requester :) I think you nailed it about her level of artistry and uniqueness. In a world of more flashy artists and performances, her vulnerability and emotional honesty really stand out to me. I'm happy you see it too but you have that kind of sensibility so I'm not surprised. I'm a rocker at heart (I still play guitar in a rock band playing rock and prog music). I was always curious and looking out for all types of music but, as I'm getting older, I gravitate more and more to this kind of quieter but powerfully emotional performances. But songwriting has always been very important to me and I really believe Phoebe is one of the very best of her generation. Another you might want to look into is Lizzy McAlpine. Attempting to answer your questions, I think she uses that sheet of paper to control resonance and feedback on louder stages although I'm not sure how effective it really is. Usually a kind of round black rubber "plug" (for lack of a better word) is used for this purpose as it is denser and really blocks the soundhole of the guitar but it probably dampens the resonance of the top piece of wood on the guitar too. I never used such a device in my acoustic guitar. As for he drummer, not sure but having played drums myself many many years ago, I figure he uses it as a softer kind of mallet by reversing it instead of grabbing an actual mallet during a performance. Don't know what else that red thing could be used for. That would yield a softer sound for cymbal swells or hits on actual drums. Thank you very much again! :)

Awesome video!
I love Phoebe. She is so amazing
great video, it would only be better if you listened to the official audio so the violin part would've been included:)
