heard this song over the years from various Irish singers and only recently came across this version from the Boss, he is the first artist that has sung it with real depth and feeling, the performance from the backing musicians was nothing short of brilliant , you could tell something amazing about was going to happen when you see Patti step away at the start, truly magnificent performance from one of the all time greats

Much as I love The Boss, this is a shitstorm of the original song. All that is left is the scrambled lyric. The tune, rythm and story have been ignored. It's far more upbeat in the original and lacks the logeurs of Bruce's song
