Bestest gun barrel scene I have ever seen! I loved the blood. This was the first Jame Bond Movies I have seen and when I saw the other gunbarrel scenes I was like"Wow, that's nothing compared to Casino Royale"
@MercenaryRundas Well, Goldeneye's Barrel looks like the rest of the gunbarrels predating this with Bond walking to the left and firing his gun, different is the actor, and the music playing.
really its up to interpretation. there were many novels but the one's closest to ian fleming's were the timothy dalton movies. CR and QoS felt like flemming books where as skyfall felt more like a john gardner bond novel
If you think about it, this is the most sensical barrel scene out of the lot; why would someone aim so long at an enemy, watching them walk in a straight and not shoot, even a sniper wouldn't take so long. This one makes sense as its a fast reaction, dying man on the floor takes aim with his last ounce of life, bond reacts in time , bam! music kicks in perfectly for the films intro. In fact, this is my favorite! :)
They probably will go back to the main theme/style in Quantum. Casino Royale was different because he had not yet become the "Bond" that we know today.
You've got to look at it from a continuity point of view. MGM/Sony logo - Fades out - Excellent modern james bond theme fades in with the traditional gunbarrel sequence, add a different touch or two to it but nothing too different bam! gunshot, blood, fade out to reveal black and white setting, however, I can understand why they'd change it because it was 007's first kill.
Also the Casino Royale gun barrel sequence will not be repeated in the next movies, given that the whole point of this gun barrel was the first Bond kill
I like Chris Cornell's theme, but mabey they should have put the James Bond theme in the opening like in Dr. No. But the 1967 Casino Royale theme song actually fits in the opening too!
i think the new style is to do it fast.. the quantum version had the original type of blood spewing down the gun barrel. The casino Royale gun barrel looked so much better, with like real blood.
mmm apparently it was to show that the new bond era has "officially" begun. the casino royale gun barrel scene was crude, better but crude. now that bond is going to start behave, his intros will now match his attitude as he was raw in casino... casino royale = BEST gun barrel ever.
2 things: it doesn't matter if he ever used a glock, it's not his gun - and this is a much better gun barrel scene as it gives a a context for a rather ridiculus opener otherwise and atleast he looks tough as connery looked to be jumping, also the "blood" is finally more "realistic"
I disagree, i think casino royale was the first Bond movie to have a storyline with real depth. So much so that it needed a sequel as there where so many questions unanswered and characters to be explored; importantly bond- after having his heart broken i'd like to see the edge it add to his mentality.
Roger Moore made Bond a slapstick, campy dude. Moore was the worst by far. Sean Connery faced off with SPECTRE, so that's classic. Not to mention he had all the charm. Pierce kinda gave Bond a post-Cold War purpose. Goldeneye was a good one. Dalton was good in The Living Daylights, but License to Kill was pretty lame. Craig is perfect for the reboot.
I'm not hating on Craig Daniels, but I didn't like the new Bond movies as the previous ones. Gunbarrel sequence was pretty cool (Still prefer the older ones though) but why did they put it 6 or 7 minutes into the movie? Just put it at the beginning like normal! I thought Sean Connery and Browman era was the best. I loved the gadgets, and Bond was more kick ass then!
Argue all you want about Craig but this gunbarrel is the best ever. You just didn't see it coming, completely blew me away.
Bestest gun barrel scene I have ever seen! I loved the blood. This was the first Jame Bond Movies I have seen and when I saw the other gunbarrel scenes I was like"Wow, that's nothing compared to Casino Royale"
The best gun barrel sequence by far.
THAT stance is the one Craig should have in ALL the gunbarrels -.-
INVICTUS the spectre stance ain’t bad this ones awesome still love bronson stance though
what a great variation on the original gun barrel opening, thanks for posting.
IanLoewen: Casino Royale was the first Bond book by Ian Fleming so it does play like the origin story.
was a bit surprised when i first saw this, but i like what they've done with it. and it leads into such a great song.
@MercenaryRundas Well, Goldeneye's Barrel looks like the rest of the gunbarrels predating this with Bond walking to the left and firing his gun, different is the actor, and the music playing.
Ah...so THAT'S what inspired the gunbarrel motif! :^D
"Sir, I lost the bleeps, I lost the sweeps and I lost the creeps!"
HAHAHA! Spaceballs is such a classic!
This is one of those great moments for bond fans. The DB5 + Bond theme moment in Skyfall was too.
Connery maybe classic ones, but at gunbarrel scenes, what I really admired is Brosnan's (further from Tomorrow Never Dies).
best gun-barrel ever
You've got to love bond. Can't wait for the next one.
totally the best james bond opening sequence yet
really its up to interpretation. there were many novels but the one's closest to ian fleming's were the timothy dalton movies. CR and QoS felt like flemming books where as skyfall felt more like a john gardner bond novel

badass music
Amazing how he managed to get the bullet RIGHT down the barrel of the other guy's gun, simply amazing.
but seriously, this is the best one EVER!!!!!!
Daniel Craig is great as Bond, IMO - he's got that cold and serious attitude that I expect in James Bond. :D
i love the gunbarrel thing its so cool
This one is catchy!!!! I didn't see the gunbarrel scene coming XD! But still! I still like the others except Quatnum of Solace's.
I can't believe this movie was made in 2006, it feels a lot like something from the 60s.
THIS-IS-EPIC. Best fucking gunbarrel.
Thunderball was in a differernt aspect ratio, so they re-shot the gun barrel sequence with Sean Connery. Previously it had been Bob Simmons.
Yes, considerably

It's been confirmed that it's been changed to the traditional one now.
yeah , it was good,
i hope in the new one they have the bond theme in it.
Also the Casino Royale gun barrel sequence will not be repeated in the next movies, given that the whole point of this gun barrel was the first Bond kill
THAT'S where the gun barrel came from!
I like Chris Cornell's theme, but mabey they should have put the James Bond theme in the opening like in Dr. No. But the 1967 Casino Royale theme song actually fits in the opening too!
bt that gun barrel sequence will never be repeated in the next movies and so on cuz its a commemorative for the 20th of bond films
Yes, he didn't do it for the first 3 movies but he did for the rest.
i think the new style is to do it fast..

Well most people dunno that casino royale is the prequel.

Craig and Lazenby rules!!!!!
he isnt THE james bond even yet.
i'm thinking they'll give craig an original gunbarrel for the rest of his movies.
Mt favorite Bond is Sean Connery.
i thought it was very cool because i didn't see that gunbarrel even coming.
@drno62 Now for Bond 23 they need to put it at the beginning of the damn movie.
I can second that Asek92. I think this was actually supposed to be the first James Bond film. Dr. No is but I think this is like a prequel.
Yes... considerably.
actually he does, and im a brosnan fan and i like him
It's not been confirmed but suggested at least
Too bad he didn't do the sequence as well as this in Quantum of Solace.
Gotcha there.
For some reason the pitch is higher on the English version
yes, considerably.....
@drno62 - That's a shame. It would have been great if they'd integrated the gunbarrel sequence into the opening scene, like they did with this one.
i don't know who's the best bond is ???
But i love James bond
If you want me to I'll send you a fullscreen version with the pitch altered.
Yes, considerably.
the gunbarrel does not matter wether it's a glock or P99 because there is no such pistol in extistance
@DontheBon Not to be rude, but it's hilarious if you think about the subtitles saying that. LMAO
I disagree, i think casino royale was the first Bond movie to have a storyline with real depth. So much so that it needed a sequel as there where so many questions unanswered and characters to be explored; importantly bond- after having his heart broken i'd like to see the edge it add to his mentality.
I hated the blood here. It was very Jelly-like
@drno62 It sure wasn't confirmed that it would be at the END!
it always does, doesn't it?
@MercenaryRundas Amen to that
but they're gonna bring it back:P
You know my name
Bond shot first.
;D
Agree 100%.
So that is who is behind the gun barrel. I have been wondering about that for a long time.
owned while taking a shit
Crig is a much better Bond then Brosmann.
Brosman had to much a 'perfect american husband' image to me...
is it just me or does this seems sped up the tiniest bit
Roger Moore made Bond a slapstick, campy dude. Moore was the worst by far.

Dalton was good in The Living Daylights, but License to Kill was pretty lame.
Craig is perfect for the reboot.
ITS GOOD ONLY THE BLOOD LOOKS FAKE
I agree
indiana jones
hmmm i like the music but i like the old way better than this one
Because Pierce Brosnan's movies were far cheesier in my opinion.
@drno62 By who?
I'm not hating on Craig Daniels, but I didn't like the new Bond movies as the previous ones. Gunbarrel sequence was pretty cool (Still prefer the older ones though) but why did they put it 6 or 7 minutes into the movie? Just put it at the beginning like normal!

@xxXXHektorXXxx You don't have to stick with the original style, otherwise it would get boring...
