This was fun! I don't usually watch graphite or charcoal tutorials because I really enjoy colour! That being said, I was amazed how the image of the last spaniel started to appear by just using white charcoal. I always enjoy your 'musings' - I can relate to what you say about not having a desire to buy new things (electronics, clothes, etc). I've had the same car for 23 years! Love your work! Looking forward to the greyhounds!
I have started enjoying monochrome work more too in recent years alongside the colour work and I also find is satifying the way the subject appears with just the whites. I often find myself half not wanting to add the blacks LOL...
Thanks for sharing , Toni. It's a shame the camera couldn't close in a bit, to see the charcoal strokes with more clarity. Great trio of dogs nicely crafted on the paper.
Thank you for all the charcoal tutorials! Started teaching myself charcoals last week and it’s so hard to find any animal tutorials. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
@@TmHudsonArt yes! I have found a few here and there but I actually think your style and way you work through them has been the best. I haven’t seen anyone add the highlights first but most are using white paper.

I just used my iphone in a phone holder to film this....

Glad you found them useful. I think a lot of the tutorials are people portraits aren't they?

Excellent work
Thank you....:)
Hi, do you use fixative on your completed pieces?
No…it would dull the whites.
