  • We are thrilled to announce the solution to emergency heating and cooking! The Vesta by InstaFire is inexpensive and can be safely burned indoors. It is powered by canned heat which is safe to store indoors.
The Vesta can be used to cook your food or provide space heating. It is not very often that we strongly encourage our viewers to purchase something but this little device could make all the difference during a power outage.
VESTA Self-Powered Indoor Space Heater & Stove by InstaFire bit.ly/3TLAgHl or at instafire.com/providentprepper (use promo code PROVIDENT LOVES VESTA for 15% off on the InstaFire site only)
You can find SafeHeat on Amazon at amzn.to/3gOS6L4 if you can't find it at My Patriot Supply. The least expensive place to purchase it is at a restaurant supply company or Sam's Club.
A huge thank you to Konel for his brilliance in designing this heater cooker combo! It just might save a lot of lives.
It is a good idea to have a battery-operated carbon monoxide detector handy when burning anything. We like this one by Kidde amzn.to/3FnV57d

That's $4 - $5 for short heating of 3-5 hrs a day. $20 for 24hrs when cold all day and night. X30 means $600 a month if someone is home all day. They are way underestimating their canned heat burn times. Canned heat is made for dinner party catering.
That's more than a KeroSun heater costs to run on station pump K1 at $5/gal...add 50c worth of Fuel Treatment perfume to turn it into expensive lamp oil.
However the KeroSun makes 33000BTU running all day on a gal....this makes 7500BTU.
Heat pump, if power is available is about $80 a month for a whole 1200sqft new build house or apartment. Minisplit about $50.
This is a neat little sterno tent heater...or a shed The Trangia alch stoves they tried, burn up their fuel in under 30 minutes..so that seemed an odd experiment. If the unit is jostled, the lit alcohol spills and burns invisible....everywhere.
All the fuels exhaust CO2 and H20 into the living/sleeping space despite odor or not.

I have 2 of these. They were an answer to my prayers. Now, I could be self-sufficient in an emergency. But I want to warn anyone who will listen that you cannot turn your back on these. The 4th time I used them, I went into another room to resume getting ready for the day. I was not gone 15 minutes, and suddenly the ear-piercing scream of my smoke alarms went off. The top portion of the Vesta had caught fire (I don't know how) and there were flames shooting out all 4 sides starting to melt the plastic handles. Black soot was rising up towards the ceiling. I was so scared, but I acted immediately. I grabbed the whole thing, trying to hold from the bottom which was less hot. But my thumbs had to hold it stable while I ran like a madwoman to the bathroom and threw the Vesta in the toilet. I know, not a bright idea. But it was the most direct way to extinguish the fire. Seconds later, I realized it had splashed and caught the toilet paper on fire, and worse, the shower curtain on the bottom (which was rising fast). I turned on the handheld shower spray and extinguished the shower curtain fire while simultaneously throwing the toilet paper into the bathtub to be extinguished also. My thumbs sustained some minor burns. Please, please, be careful when using this device. I will no longer be using the top fan portion at all, because I am slightly traumatized by what happened. I will use the bottom portion, and may even use the grate. But I will NEVER turn my back on it again. My situation could have been much worse. Please let this be a warning to everyone using the Vesta. It can be a Godsend, but PLEASE be careful!!!

After watching this last night, I waited until this morning to make sure I wasn't buying it out of emotion. This morning I went for coffee with friends who used to live in Texas and were there during that huge winter storm power outage. They were out of power for two full days and had to huddle around their gas fireplace. Well, we do not have a gas fireplace, nor a wood fireplace. I have tried to figure out some things we could do from watching your and others videos but didn't think any were great options. I am excited about this stove/heater and ordered one today. My husband isn't really into preparing like I am so I like that it isn't stupidly expensive. It isn't dirt cheap either but I think a very fair price for the technology!

Last winter, with the electric going out, was enough for me to do so along with the extra canned heat. Seems the price has gone up (a bit) on them, too. If another sale runs on them, I will definitely order a few more. With the way things are going, you never knew when these will come in handy or if an elderly neighbor might need use of one. I just needed to know how to operate them and thanks to video, I have a bit more knowledge about how. Who ever invented these; thank and bless you!😇🥰

The cooking part we already had down with a butane camp stove, a duel fuel propane/butane camp stove, the BBQs down by the pool, and slow cooking using my 12v Hot Logic Mini plugged into my vehicle camper’s auxiliary battery power system with a solar panel (just back from a road trip more than 1400 miles round trip & no restaurants! Great food & hot meals). The heating in winter 🥶 has been on my mind. Sure we can put a tent in the livingroom & wear extra sweaters & wool socks 🧦, even plug the car blanket into a power station’s 12v socket to preheat a sleeping bag, but putting that heater/stove thing on the brick hearth in front of the fireplace we usually can’t have a wood fire in because of air quality restrictions sounds like a possible solution. I like the duel purpose of cooking AND heating. Already sent out a link to some relatives we were talking about using canned heat as a cooking alternative. Thanks for more thought provoking videos!

@@kinthecountry4301 my duel fuel propane/butane one burner camp stove is made by Gas One. I think they have a couple of different models. I originally got it because one of the fuels doesn’t do well at high elevations & sometimes there is a shortage of one or the other (in March 2019 you could not buy propane at all in those little green canisters or to refill the 5 pound tanks in Nevada on highway US-50 except at except some either end). I use it for camping, but it has a backup job if we have a prolonged emergency.

Extremely interesting that I should find this video as, last month I took a small table top Hibachi, put 2 tuna cans in the bottom, added cotton balls, filled 1/3 full with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol, lit them, said "I have a stove!" Then I thought about it, took the back from a broken tabletop heater, cut the end piece off, placed it over the rack with the cans burning and said "I have a heater!" No fan of course, but if I'm stuck, I think I'll survive. (Yes I have a detector also, better safe than - asphyxiated) Thank you, great video.

The cooking surface is large enough to hold a 10" frying pan and most pots and pans. I purchased 5, 12-pack cases of 6 hour chafing fuel at Sam's Club a little over a year ago. The price was much lower then. But like you said, they do last a long time. I watched a video of guy who had the same camp stove I have. We have 2 of these and I plan to get a couple more….for the purpose of warming us, of course does allow for cooking and for keeping a pot of water. We tested our first one and that fan did kick out a surprising amount of warmth. We had a power outage during a snow storm last May. I have chaffers, so that worked very well for heating food and keeping water hot tea, making french press coffee, etc. BUT I used three cans of this canned fuel under an oven rack suspended on top of 4 large cans on top of my glass top stove. I was able to cook a package of Mac & cheese, fried some Spam or ham, and a vegetable. I also fried, scrambled, or poached eggs this way, browned some brown N serve sausage links. Had hot water for instant oatmeal or cream of wheat…but could easily cook the real thing too. We also keep 4-6 butane tanks for our gas grill and we have the grill just outside our sliding glass door. We can easily cook, grill, bake and boil water on the grill. For staying warm we can take our car out into the driveway, and run it for an hour with the heater going, and heated seats on. Our car has wifi. We got thoroughly warmed, then came inside and went to bed. If roads are safe one can drive around a little bit to keep the car battery charged up…but the day we did that it had snowed and we did not need to be out on the roads….sitting in the drive way with our electronics for 1 hour worked extremely well. S
Slept very well nice and cozy. We also have 2 solar “generators” and we have electric throws. Those can be warmed up and then will keep us cozy if needed…. I have been purchasing cases of 12 or 24 of the canned 6 hour fuel. I use them for my catering anyway, and the oven rack on top of the stove worked magically.

    O. M. G. !!!! this is my answer! I live in Maine. We lose power 2-3 times a winter, and for days at a time. So, I've been looking for a safer heat source, and I can even cook, so no more cold food in a cold house! I'm excited! Thank you for sharing!

For emergency heat i have a generator that will power everything in my house but the central air and electric dryer that can run on my natural gas or propane or gas. I have a small Franklin wood stove that I can hook up to the chimney in the basement and pipes etc for it. I have 2 electric space heaters, a mr buddy propane heater, and lots of wool blankets. For cooking I also have a duel fuel Coleman stove and a small butane stove. Also gas, charcoal , and a pellet grill. So im pretty set but this thing looks very interesting as there is no smoke like my wood stove or noise like my generator. If there were unrest, this might be a great way to go in a smaller room. Thanks!

I've enjoyed all your videos on emergency heating and cooking. Already have a natural gas space heater that works without electricity, a Lil Buddy propane heater, a butane cooker, Coleman camp stove and others plus fuel. But, you can never have too many emergency heat and cooking options so I ordered one of these and 3 twelve can cases of fuel from Sam's. Thanks for making me aware of this option and for all the great work you do. We got our Harvest Right medium freeze dryer about 2 months ago. Life got in the way so we have only done 1 batch of fruit so far. Would love to see videos of preparing different foods for the freeze dryer. Particularly MRE type meals that can be used to prepare hot meals in emergency situations by heating water with something like the VESTA.

    Hi
When you try to pour the denatured alcohol from that can, like you're doing there, you need to have the opening at the top side instead of like you have it there on the bottom. I know it sounds weird but that's how you're supposed to pour it, with the hole at the top and then tip it over.
Thanks for the tip on the new little stove, I think I'm going to have to buy one.
Thank you for all the effort that y'all put into everything, it really helps.
    God bless y'all

I have several options for heating and cooking (wood stove, kerosene heaters, butane burner, etc...) but this option is intriguing because of the peltier fan. Question: Can you put a pot on top of the "room" heater and heat water? I'm thinking about a small kettle that might provide hot water throughout the day.?

Thank you! I will buy one when I am able to find my own apt. I'm blind and want a small safe way to cook. I live in Florida and hurricanes happen.
I have some Safe Heat and a small foldable stove, but like this idea so much better, especially since the cans are totally enclosed, there is a fan that Dian require a separate power source and the snuffer is included.
I tried some heat packs (think MRE heater type) and a pan designed specifically to use them but was very disappointed with the outcome. It did get the water to boil but wasn't really hot enough long enough to cook freeze dried food.
    Again a big thank you❣️

What an informative video! Great alternatives for cooking and heating during the tough times approaching. Excellent presentation as always. What a great back-up for apartment dwellers. Hope and I use kerosene all winter long to supplement our home where this year we are setting the thermostat at 60 degrees. Kerosene in the Midwest has stayed steady at $3.99/gal. We keep about 17 gals on hand. With three heaters we could heat the entire home with them if we had to. They burn clean and cause no carbon monoxide build-up. One of the older kerosene heaters, a KeroSun, has a flat top surface for cooking. I routinely make oatmeal with this one. Hope and I recommend your channel to our viewers (Under the Median) and mentioned you in our last video. You guys are tops! Blessings.

This device is good to have but does have some drawbacks as well, like just about any alternative. Personally i seperated out what i need for cooking vs. what i need to heat my house. For cooking I have a solar oven (helpful hint - heat up rocks/sand in a glass jar using a solar oven to use as a heat source), rocket stove, single electric hotplate (I have a couple of portable power stations/battery packs and use solar for recharging. i can also run my air dryer with these as well) and finally a grill that runs on propane and i stocked up enough propane to run it on high for well over 250 hours

Add pink fiberglass insulation to the cans of alcohol fuel. It keeps the fuel from sloshing around in the cans and prolongs the burn time of the fuel. The cap will need to be in place, adjusted so it does not cover the holes where the flames exit.

Great video! I def need to get one of these. When you went off-label I thought you were going to tea lights. I'm still bummed that the Eco HERC Tea Light oven is no longer available lol One small suggestion for improvement - I noticed when the drawer was pulled out the front of it dropped to the countertop. I know that it won't get so hot that it would damage the countertop, but perhaps to avoid scratching the surface that it is on. Just a thought.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I ordered the stove and thanks for the Sam's tip. It's very well made and is one of those marvelous things that is genius in its simple design but highly functional. I think this would fit into a soft sided cooler as a carry case. My Patriot Supply currently has a bundle with the stove and 24 cans of fuel. I have a buddy heater but that would be the only thing for which I buy propane, so like the multi purpose of this and longer shelf life of the canned fuel. Buying this for gifts. Keep up the great work!
