      it wasn't ahead of its time, the other cultures regressed, at some point all the civilization of the bronze era fell, then Egypt got kind of stucked, then Grece appear, then Rome, and again all went to shit again after Rome fell, and we entered the dark era, knowledge was lost and old healthy customs, the new generations, weren't that much intelligent, that is way too much ignorance produced unhealthy customs, only a few were scholars, but mostly monks at monasteries, where they collected books, once science return with the Renaissance, things started to return, we reached Egypt level of culture, well kind of, some other bad habits prevailed, like the treatment of women, torture, etc, etc, but mostly we started to be better, now we surpassed our ancestors, though we have forgotten some ancient technology yet, not useful now, but that were in the past.

      @@sheronedge6723 Nope, The ancient Egyptians started out black. What you see now are the descendents of invaders. It's like visiting the USA and saying only mixture of races EVER existed there. When we know that Native Americans started out in the USA. When you look at many ancient Egyptian walls you see Dark and brown skin people. You can find this with a simple search, also Egypt is in Africa. That's like saying European people have ALWAYS been in South Africa. I think most people have a problem with most ancient Egyptians being black because Ancient Egypt was so advance. I think there is a cognitive dissonance whenever people encounter an advance black civilization. This is not to say that much later generation of Egyptians didn't mix races, which in turn gave us later painting of lighter complexion Egyptians , but the roots of Egypt are black.

      Kananda Almeida There were most likely no real “history classes” like today, but instead most people at the time in Egypt believed in mostly mythical origin stories that have been passed down for generations. But if we were talking about the Late Kingdom after the first millennium BC where Egypt had a long and lengthy history by that point, then probably many educated people would have heard about the “great Ramses” or the many other Pharaohs that had been well-known that have ruled many centuries before them. I am sure as well that they have kept track of the history of the old Pyramids through stories and mythical tales surrounding those who have been buried in the tombs.

      I don't want to make it seem like women in Egypt are the most oppressed women in the world, but the Egyptian society is male-dominated and treats women as second class citizens. And the worst part is : people here - even women - don't even realize how disgusting and unfair it is. Feminism was clearly described as "an American ideology wrongfully applied to the Egyptian society"
      People wrongfully interpret Islam and use their biased opinions as tools to control women. Considering the fact that women are legally obliged to present virginity tests for marriage and certain jobs. And abortions are illegal.

And when I returned to Egypt for the first time since I was two years old, I was slapped in the face (metaphorically of course). People looked at me in disgust when I sat next to a boy in class or when I said that a man should not have the right to prevent his wife from getting a job. They also were able to work their way out of slavery, so it wasn’t a total lost cause. No expert, but I guess their liberties would be constrained only by how much of a dickhead their masters be.
      Also, you’re very wrong about there being no diversity. Ancient Egypt had strong trading relations with many countries in the ancient world thanks to their bountiful supplies of gold, and had been raided and conquered by many, many tribes and countries over time, which meant that the people living in Egypt would’ve been a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities thanks to all the people settling down/taking territories and whatnot. Hell, it’s even been proven by Egyptologists that a few pharaohs actually had red hair. Can’t have red-headed pharaohs without some red-heads settling in Egypt at some point.

    Ancient Egypt has got to be my all time favorite aspect of human history ever. Just studying their paintings alone captivated me, because how diverse they were based on the kingdoms (Old, Middle and New). I hate how people obsess over ethnicity and skin color today. The Ancient Egyptians would've seen us as primitives obsessing over insignificant differences. They had diverse skin tones and shades. I think they would've been very puzzled and amused by the modern discussions about skin shades and tones. 😂I certainly think it is a stupid topic to discuss in any Ancient Egyptian video, since the ancient paintings clearly depict them as tan, brown, black and a cornucopia of humanity in one place. The Old Kingdom may have had tan or brown skinned individuals while the Middle Kingdom due to the invasion of Nubians from the South made Egyptians have darker skin tones and later into the New Kingdom we see more lighter skinned Egyptians due to the invaders of Romans, Macedonians and Phoenicians. Gesh! People simple reading and looking at Ancient Egyptian paintings would make you all understand Egypt isn't made of one particular group of people, but of many.

      I think for the same reason that Abuwtiyuw was an onomatopoeia for a dogs bark, since I actually happen to study Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics I know the ancient Egyptian word _ab_ or _jb_ means heart, but the Egyptians believed the heart was were a persons mind, you might be familiar with the phrase _"whatever your heart desires"_ , the mind is truly a persons heart. This is more figurative and poetic than literal; the word _jb_ literally means passion, desire, love, lust, etc. these are emotions coming from the conscious mind or psyche.
      The heart is the seat of emotion.

    • @LJRiley-io7nh
      @LJRiley-io7nh 5 років тому +1

      I can see where they thought that about the heart. Because when you feel fear your heart beats faster. When you are in love you feel that emotion in your chest. When you cry you feel it in your chest. So to them, the you that makes you you is centered around the chest area. But how did they overlook the thought process of the brain because you can definitely tell that your thoughts originate from your head. Specifically the forehead area seems to get all the thoughts and then sends them to either side of the brain as necessary. I mean, at least I can "feel" my brain processing things in this manner.

      tommy d u b b s It wasn’t that long ago that we had phones without the internet. In the very early 2000’s there was nothing compared to today. And people were genuinely a lot nicer and respectful than nowadays. I’m 40 and have seen such a massive change. Which makes me feel ancient!

    The narrator for these videos is what keeps the stories interesting to listen to.
    I’ve always liked learning about history but I find that if the story is being narrated it matters who narrates it.

      Last Ice Age? We're still in the ice age. Well, technically, it's the inter-glacial period. Otherwise, still in an ice age.
      But yes, the first known account of recorded history is around 5,500 BC.

      Yeah he got that wrong. It most definitely predates Pharaonic/Historic Egypt. At around that time it was the end of the Khormusan industry.

    Current science also states that humans have neural (brain) cells in multiple organs (most especially the heart), so they weren't really wrong or incorrect. They actually had more accurate info about the human body than current medicine today in a lot of ways. The new research in quantum physics kinda proves a lot of what they were supposedly wrong about. Granted they probably didn't have 100% correct information but in a most ways they were way beyond today's knowledge regarding just about everything.
