Sarah Slean is a superb composer, arranger, singer, instrumentalist, and poetess. It's also amusing that she can visit the grave of Napoleon and come away with inspiration for music such as this, and the rest of us could go to Napoleon's grave and come away with a nice afternoon and sore feet ! I have often wondered what the world sounds like within her head.
What an artist! Sarah is an amazing storyteller. Her music is the perfect soundtrack to the illustrations her lyrics paint. I can't accurately express how awed I am. It's not every day you find music that actually makes you want to just burst with emotion.
To anyone that is remotely accustomed to the composition of Madame Slean, this shouldn't be a surprise, but this is definitely a noir gem from the 'Sea' end of the double set.
She has a fantastic voice and she seems really inspired. Her voice ressembles that of Tori Amos...the inspiration too. Excellent singer, discovered her thanks to the Montreal Jazz Fest!

Very well put. Superb is the only word that even begins to serve her justice. She is a gift of nature. : )
My favorite song from 'Sea'.. It's perfection.
"Don't get high on your only horse"
Brilliant lyric!
This song is incredible. A spell or a warning to heed.

She played with SNS in Halifax, and it was The Greatest.
All you need to listen too!
