@Str8DV8 no, it doesn't answer my question. I asked why is there more truth in his answer than in all religions put together. Even if some religion is forced on someone, it's a genetic fallacy to say it's false because of how people got to it. For example, a child can be forced to accept that 2+2=4. That's doesn't change the truthfullness of the claim. Again, because Buddhism doesn't have an official doctrine it makes me harder to believe in it. In the case of Christianity, I at least know where do I stand and is it falsifiable. Actually, if we are going to take this step, the religion that mostly feeds on the fear of its believers is most likely Islam. We have to defines what we mean by religion, but if we take the standard definition, Buddhism can sometimes be a religion, depends on a believer. That's at least what I figured out. Christianity also doesn't believe in some Santa Clause as we think of it. Christianity believes there is a maximally great being whose essence is existence and this being caused the universe into being and the universe is dependened on that necessary being called God. God created humans and gave them free will, but they rebelled. This God is also just and loving which means He must punish sin, but He doesn't want humans to pay for it. That's why He takes form of a human called Jesus of Nazareth, lives a perfect life as an ideal for His followers and dies on the cross to pay the debt with His blood. He rises from the dead to show He was in fact innocent and to make people know that His claims are true. The Church He founded preached the good news that people can now be reconciled with that same God they did wrong. That's in a nutshell what Christianity is all about. I don't know in which point of life you are and what's your backround, but if all this, Christianity as a worldview were true, would you become a Christian? Christianity is true if Jesus is God, died and rose again (Romans 10). If it were true, would you believe it? I'm waiting for your response.
@Str8DV8 I like answering these kinds of questions, but tell me, why would I when you said that if Christianity were true you wouldn't become a Christian? It would be casting pearls to swines on my part and on yours, in a way being guilty of the same thing that makes you dislike the God of the Bible.
You overcome that contradiction with what questions are we trying to answer in our religion. Put short, if the core of the religious teaching (or truth) is to treat others how you would like to be treated, and basic values…who cares about the religion you used to understand that
Peace is required between all religions as Christian I am peaceful I love peace safety security understanding compromises reconciliations hoping it happen one day for successful comunity & good civilisation good luck 🙏🙏🙏
Some of the comments are really mean. Why cant we think that all religions are ultimately conveying the same message, that is to be good, do good. I'm personally believe that all religions and teachings eg: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism are beautiful
The answer is simple: they are scared shitless for the fact they (the ones who say their religion is the true and only one) might not be as unique as they want to be.
@@jgappy5643 True. I left the church and found Buddhism to make me feel more whole. There is no guarantee which belief is right. The bitterest truth is better than the sweetest lie.😔
@@geonite2072 you left church cuz not every pastor is same. Some fool you and you need to be careful. You have to go in their perspective. I have witnessed that too. But keep your faith strong and do read Bible.
I don't think that this analogy even works. In medicine you have pretty much the same cure for a specific disease. Sometimes pills or surgery, but if it doesn't change the fact if I say it doesn't work for me. If I say that some X treatment would help me because "it works for me" that's not the case. If Christ rose from the dead than that's true for everyone in spite of "not working for someone".
@@eugengolubic2186 Well actually, when you get a bacterial infection you don't nessescarily just use say, streptomycin like when it was first found to be an effective agent against TB, now we commonly use the likes of isoniazid or rimfapin and depending on the strain and drug resistance of the TB in the host, we may require an add on of bedaquilline or linezolid. It heavily depends on the disease and the patient, even the same disease can require a variety of treatments. Edit: Grammar fix
@@eugengolubic2186 You didn't get the message to the core I think. He didn't mean it wouldn't be true for everyone. He simply meant that for one person one religion is the best path, while another religion is not. And that is why no religion is 'the one' or the right path to follow. Simple. The medicine analogy does work, because for some people one kind of treatment may work, while for another person the same treatment couldn't cure their illness. That happens. That's why there are so many kinds of treatments and medicines.

In my opinion he is saying something more clearer. All multi set religions are ok (for the mind) but when one is in love then only a one set is used. He used the example of eatery to signify choice. And choice is mostly the thinking not the feeling. The message was so clear but many people who commented here did not listen to it even though they heard it. They were only hearing their thoughts. In his way he so clearly accepted everything as well as accepted only one (set) as well as rejected many remaining (sets) all in one.
Amazing SOUL, I have a son, who is an atheist, and I see the truth in this thinking that His Holiness expresses. I am praying (in my way) that my son will see the beauty of SOME religious belief... because a spiritual base gives a deeper meaning and richness to the tapestry of life. Great Blessings...
most top religious people always show respect to other religion eg. Pope never say bad things of other religion. Becos they reach a point of understanding what it means to be religious. It would be nice to see all top religious people come together to form a meeting.
God and religions are a shared ideology, fed by each cultural idiosyncrasy, since mankind's childhood. If there's a real God, IS beyond human concepts and beyond rational aknowlegement by the ordinary human mind. Tao : The Tao that can be trodden is not the enduring and unchanging Tao. The name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name.
If God is beyond human conceptions, how could you concieve Him? How is He known by you and people who believe the same as you do if He is beyond rational acknowledgements to ordinary mind? Are you saying your mind is extraordinary? If so, how and why? How could you prove it. All this seems as if you said "We can't know the truth." making it a self-defeating proposition. If your mind is ordinary after all, how could you claim what God is?
I remember Dalai Lama saying don't settle for less than logic and experience.. I agree and stopped going to church. Truth is truth.. what other truth is there? and I am not an atheist. and there is truth in other religions.
Brother,as am Tibetan Buddhist.you don't need to stop visit church .learn more and collect all necessary by using your heart and brain l.but add more compassion act toward other + every human being .i can't promise for heaven or luxury life at present but i promise you someday u will achieve a happy and meaningful life.that only thing u can carry when u die.may Jesus bless u. .
The main cause of violence around the world is the attitude of one’s beliefs or faiths as the truth and superior to the other. Just imagine if every religion messenger has an ideology of his holiness then the world will be better place to live.
@@eugengolubic2186 he gives a rational / reasonable explanation for his answer, explaining how his reasoning leads to his given answer in sequential steps
Thousands of religions on Earth with no solid foundation. Many religions are in fact just hybrids of an older religion, and perhaps that was a hybrid and so on and so on. My conclusion: No such thing as a true relgion. Every person on the planet is capable of creating his very own path to spiritual enlightenment. We don't need religion to accomplish this, just good ol human mind and heart, both filled with endless possibilities.
What do you mean by religion? Religion is, as I understand it, a belief in a God (or gods) and worship of that deity and following spiritual teachings of that deity (often through a some kind of prophet(s)). So, you would make yourself your own religion while saying there is no such thing as a true religion. I find this to be a defeater.
Religion is not the subject to be imposed on someone forcefully Instead we should teach our children all the religions and leave its upto them to choose which religion they feel is suitable for their personal development and well being . It's like choosing a career after going through basics of every subject thoroughly, right choice of career depends on your interest in that particular field and your inbuilt brain mechanism suitable to understand that field, in the same way we all have different mental dispositions and thus we need taste of different religion to know which works best for us. You should be able to choose your own path without any prejudices , imagine a world in which each family member follows a different religion see how beautiful our society will be . Here Dalai lama is saying us the same thing . We should think on it.
I like this analogy and I would take it a little further for those that still want to argue their religion is the only true religion which was his point btw. When the physical body needs food it takes in that food and even though there are various kinds of food you can eat it is all broken down to the same basic elements that give the body the energy necessary to survive. I think the spiritual part of humankind also craves sustenance and just like different kinds of food are broken down by the body to feed the physical, I think that the spiritual side has various needs that are all broken down into the basic elements and feed the spiritual side. It confounds me that a creator that has given so much variety to his creation would create only one spiritual food.
Santa Tim I do have a similar view point. I believe theres a higher power but religion is a way to understand, interpret this being and also a form of enlightenment.
His whole point is flawed. How could different religions be true at the same time? Let's say that Christ rose from the dead. How can Christianity be true at the same time with something as Buddhism or Islam?
I have noticed that my Bible has 1,465 pages and with in this Bible there are 73 different books in total with thousands and thousands of different verses all with unique ideas made to help equip someone for all they need for the purposes of good works, and to help them lead a Godly life. I myself would need multiple life times to savior all the food in this menu of thoughts. Peace be with you my friends.
This might be a little far-fetched but I just want to add something. As a martial arts teacher of about 4 different styles, some that I know have similar techniques (like punches and kicks), others have moves that are totally different but can be just as effective. It depends on which matches your "fight-or-flight" thinking. Like the 20+ belief systems, there are many different styles of self-defense, and you choose which one makes the most sense to YOU. Because to me, it's whatever works for the person practicing them. There is no right or wrong way of protecting yourself. So why should there be ONE TRUE martial art? Now add "religion" to my little statement and tell me what you think. Thanks. :)
Even Salvation through Jesus does involve enlightenment to some extent. What do you think priests and pastors are doing during church services?? en·light·en 1. to give information or understanding to; instruct; edify 2. to free from ignorance, prejudice, or superstition 3. to give spiritual or religious revelation to 4. Christianity is not the true religion, because it's not a religion at all, Christianity is a personal relationship with God, it's not a religion, religion is bondage, relationship is freedom, religion brings strife, relationship brings peace.
A true religion has no dogma or creed. It allows the person to have a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. Basically search for the truth and meaning without doing harm. A religion which promotes the inherent worth and dignity of every person, and shows respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. A religion was which promotes a world community with peace, liberty and justice for all life, walks of life, etc....which allows the right of conscience and the use of Democratic process in their congregations and in the society at large, and promotes justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
GnosticTheist You are right. A true religion has no dogma or creed. Abrahamic religions are based in dogma or creed. Eastern religions are not based in dogma or creed. Native Spirituality and Celtic and even Pagan religions, Pantheistic religions or Nature Rooted religions are without dogma or creed. I'm a Unitarian Universalist and my religion is without dogma or creed.
GnosticTheist Dogma or Creed is controlling and does not allow for growth, change and questioning the authorities of the dogmatic creed driven religions. And they are less likely to be tolerant of other religions which do not conform to their way of thinking and doing things. And they believe that they are right and everyone else are wrong. I find this kind of mentality to be a dark age mentality.
GnosticTheist I don't believe me or you or anyone on Earth has a monopoly on truth or any form of philosophy, or ideology. Want truth? There are so many philosophies, ideologies, religions on Earth, and they each believe that they have the truth and that the other is in the wrong. Want facts? Pick up up to date books on the latest scientific research and findings, or search for tangible proofs which can be perceived by the five senses: Sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. The use of human reasoning based on tangible means.
why fight each other Dharma and karma is the main principles of life if we lead our life in a way Dharma (rhight things to do) then according to your karma you will get what u did so finally our goal is to achieve muksha( break from cycle of rebirth) even budda, mahaveera, basavanna, shankarachaya every enlightened person did this. don't fight over who is great and who is not. you shouldn't have to believe in God and don't have to offer him anything u just do what is rhight things to do like
Ever notice that everything starts with, goes around, and comes back to, the individual. YOU. lol. It's because each of us is a 'you', and everything we are aware of, know, experience, decide, realize, etc. has to do with each of us individually as 'you'. Which is why, what is true, is what is true for each person....as he says about different religions etc.
0:06 Yes. The synthesis of all true practitioners. 0:22 First of all; what does it mean to say that only your religion is "true"? "True" about what? And to say that someone is "true" means that they are always reliable. It's not usually used about objects. So they are saying that only their religion is infallible?
Love this, but there’s one major problem: how do we decide what “effective” means for human beings? Who gets to decide what is most “practical”? If believing in God is “another valid way to being compassionate”, then are we really idolizing compassion above anything else? And what does compassion mean when it comes to abortion, for example? (I understand there is no single buddhist view on abortion, only a general majority against it)
I understand what he's trying to say but the analogy of religion being like a medicine is only useful if all religions were made just to heal hurts, to fulfill certain desires (to feel wanted/loved/to have hope). The fact of the matter is, once you delve deeper; each religion deals with more than just "how do I make my life better" (some certainly focus on this life and not on the next life, if you believe there is a next life). Moving back to the point, if there is no afterlife/accountability/next step, then yes any religion would suffice because you would only need it for this lifetime. The question is, what happens if there is a next step? That's where religions begin to claim their possession of truth. If there is no standard/no judgment/no Supreme Being deciding between right/wrong then there is no point to adhering to a specific religion since their only purpose would be social structure and cohesiveness. Once again the question is, is there something next? Will there be a final criterion, which I will have to meet? If this alternative is true then there HAS to be a truth. Whether mankind knows it or not. How would the common person be able to distinguish between these? It would require some sort of insight into the world "outside" our own. Experiences, which could be attributed to the supernatural. This brings me to my own belief. I believe in Jesus, I believe He is the Son of God. I know this truth through my experiences with the supernatural and the satisfactory explanation of these experiences through the Christian doctrine. I believe Jesus to be necessary and sufficient for my life and that it is to HIM whom we will answer to.
+Jesse we Christians must do more to get the truth out that there is truly only one way, and that is Jesus Christ. i just typed in what is the true religion and not one Christian channel came up. Islam, Buddhism, and everything comes up. Its quite sad and shows the state the world is headed in. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the light, no man comes to The Father but by me. And i now know this to be true. I just wish there was more we Christians could do to make sure the Gospel truth is heard...
Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them. This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
@@Nathan_091 is that what you see in this comment section? All that I see is people fighting over which religion is better, it's not at all open-minded.

@nayanmalig ...well... Ravi Zacharias makes an extremely good defense for why Christians believe it to be true. Logic, reason, consistency, and coherence I believe to be vital in finding truth.
Finally someone! They believe that two contradictory views can be true at the same time. That's my problem with eastern religions. People think they are so deep... Maybe on certain points, but basicly it's all self-defeating. It seems that Christianity has the best explanation for reality so I'm gonna stick with it.
there is only 1 Objective truth. if you talk about subjective.. anything can be subjective truth... this worldview is creating so much problem now ....
The thing before Christ was just an additional information and prophylactic for further nonsense questions. And yes there are no good people we are all corrupt also the ones who live in a jungle and never heard about the gospel. Paul writes: “There is no one righteous, not even one. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” - Romans 3,11 see next post.
Truth is NEVER subjective...hard facts inexistence on any discourse should be used to gauge the truth.....i bleive there is ultimate truth to everything...the true religion exist
@CalamityStriker Buddhists say everything is empty & an illusion, but to question that, as well as everything else before accepting. from a Buddhist perspective it's impossible to find a truth in an illusion. so they don't offer absolute truth. all they do is suggest the 4 noble truths & the noble eight-fold path as a way to happiness & ultimate bliss thru meditation. so he' s requesting others to search within & find their own way. Christians & Muslims think they know the truth. but I doubt it.
And THATS why we must spread the Gospel. Summasumarum: If you never heard about Christ you will be judged by your works for the sake fo justice although you are corrupt by original sin you can be saved. But if you heard the Gospel you have no excuse. So .. people you get judged by their works are very little in consideration of how many people know about Jesus and reject him anyway. I can assure you .. you and Dailai Lama wont be judged by your works.
I'm not going to prtend to know anything here. I only will ask if there is anyone in the know... How whould the 1st Dalai Lama respond to this question?
It doesn't matter what he would said. Do you always orient yourself only to what someone with supposed authority says? Think for yourself whether it makes sense to assume that there is only one true religion.
Ähhm .. yeah .. you are right. Thats exactly what I mean. :-) The blood of the lamp is the only solution. But the Dalai Lama doesnt seem to understand it. He can smile and be wise how much he wants. He wont get salvation without accepting Christ as his savior.
@@petagonkyi how do you know he (or she?) believes blindly? After all, what difference does it make? You just made an ad hominem. Christ says He is the only way for salvation. If that's true, our beliefs don't change that fact.

There are no good people. The bible states clearly that every human being us born in sin and therefore separted from God. God does not condemn, we are alredy condemned by our nature. The point is if we engage with Gods help and get saved. So we must be thankful that he gave his son for us. You understand? We are sinner from beginning!
If god burns good people who help people become good people because his image of that which is greater than himself is different then you fell asleep during bible studies and got confused between god and the devil.
Thats right, but in Christianity it is more called wisdom and insight which is given throught the Holy Spirit. Enlightment in a buddhistic way is always starting by one self and ends also there. Thats a significant difference. There are many equalitys in Christianity and Buddhism, thats true. But in the base the are completely different. Wisdom and insight are a consequence of salvation. Without salvation every wisdom and insight are spiritually death.

Im worried, What if I have this illness, I take this medicine which I think is the best for me, and I end up in Hell because I have taken the wrong medicine, and god of another religion just said "you're wrong taking that medicine. Your fault..". If only religion doesnt drag us to the afterlife, it would be easy.. But because Im threaten now of the hellfire, which im scared ill be there, i must take the right medicine.. Or is it just the medicine,And no afterlife? Which surely ill never take any medicine and just live my life.. Haha
The way he said it make me feel he doesnt even sure of Buddhism.. For me religion is true, because it has shown us some true acceptable evidences.. And if it is true, than hellfire, like most religion believe at, must be true.. So, which is true?
I'm assuming you're agnostic? If I were you I would do research on the religions that believe in God (namely the Abrahamaic religions) and make a decision on which religion you believe to be true. :)
Why would an all knowing, loving God create "spiritual beings" to torture in eternal hell fire??? That is completely void of any literal or spiritual reasoning whatsoever!
But Jesus was reincarnated, Paul even said how he did not recognize Jesus until he spoke, meaning he took the incarnation of a completely different person. You should read the gospel of Mary of Magdala. "26) The Savior said There is no sin, but it is you who make sin when you do the things that are like the nature of adultery, which is called sin." "22) The Savior said, All nature, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots."
So, No real answer... I get the point, but it's interesting how "holy" people cannot give a simple answer to questions like these. Instead, everything becomes an analogy... The question wasn't about going to a buffet. Lol.
The moment this person draws his last breath, and falls into the reality of ETERNITY, he will suddenly call out , and find out , that there is one there , because he rejected the ONE AND ONLY WAY for ETERNAL LIFE . That way is Jesus Christ , the only way.

@Subhobrata Chakravorti ohh yes Jesus was never born. He never died. He was just an animated character. Idi*iot why do you have to put one's religion always down? You have put Jesus pic in your profile and shaming him? B**tch listen you better change that and also don't talk sh**t about one's religion. The same I could say for your religion
I did, reason I don't believe any of it considering the people who published the final version burned people at the stake for having different beliefs. God of Jesus: "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) God of Moses: "I will tear open their breast, and there I will devour them like a lion." (Hosea 13:8)
You all need to know that: Buddhas was the one who God sent to born in the higher place as the King Palace, so he can teach and tell people to listen to him. Jesus was the one God sent to born in the very low place, only people who have mind and vision can see and understand Jesus is the saver. Amen.
You can hold to Buddhism if you like, it more or less distracts from answering the question. But, if you want a sound coherent non-contradictory answer I would suggest listening to Ravi Zacharias (who is from India and was troubled by Buddhism and hinduism's irrational and incoherent approach toward truth). What would it hurt to at least hear Ravi Zacharias out?
I can't believe he said that. I thought he was smart and wise. All religions cannot be true at the same time for different people. If Christ rise from the dead, than that's a fact. If Muhammad split the moon in half and if he is the last prophet, then that's a fact. Christianity and Islam can't be true at the same time. U don't care if some Muslims or anyone else thinks differently, but the Christian God and the Islamic god are not the same being. So, if Christianity is true for me, it's true for everyone. Another point I would make is what makes Dalai Lama's answer true? Because it works for him? Something else? What if my religion teaches that Dalai Lama is wrong? Which is true: my belief or his claim? His worldview is inconsistent.
His is a very Buddhist answer. Unlike Christianism or Islam, in Buddhism you get multiple chances and there is no belief requirement to be good. So he is saying that whatever religion helps people is good because it puts them a step closer to enlightment.

Well, logically no two religions can be true at the same time because they all contradict each other. You can’t both go to heaven and be reborn at the same time.
@star 3 I don't see it as a sacrifice to be moral. It how I choose to live my life. I like to be kind to others. I like to see other people be happy and thrive.
@star 3 Well, sadly some people likes to kill people and some people do become killers, both believers and nonbelievers - that is why we have the police and criminal justice system. If you look at the statistics nonbelievers are not more likely to kill another person, so believing in something doesn't hinder someone from becoming a killer.
"I just like it" isn't my best explanation. I could some with a very long explanation on why I like it. Another short explanation is that humans are a social species.
You are wrong, we are dealing with a problem Humanity is fallen for Gods sake! Thats why we need salvation. This is a core point that everbody must understand.
His explanation works exclusively if "religion" is a group of guidelines that tell you how to live. Some "religions" are truly nothing more than that. But his explanation fails completely in regard to any faith that says its book is "the word of the one true God" and requires a person to follow said deity in a specific way. That deity is either real and true or a lie. People expecting a guide to their deity and the described afterlife (in these faiths, afterlife is eternal) are completely denied and living useless lives if said book/guide is false. He also assumes that the afterlife for all is the same and people merely follow different routes to it (in keeping with his personal world view). For Jews, Christians, Catholics, and Muslims (and a few others), this response says nothing more than "I don't believe in your God". He said all of that for nothing.
this is cheating about one truth,.........one truth and one true religion must exist .....but variety is not denied ....people got free well to choose one truth or multible lies ....then they take responsability of thier own choices ....this is the test of life
Is he serious?! Truth is exclusive. The law of non contradiction can not be overcome: several truths at the same time in the same sense is sheer nonsense. There is one truth about God and only one. The question is: are we willing to accept it?
Nicky 1/ I didn't argue that buddhism is a religion. 2/ The goals of the Dalai Lama may be highly commendable and worthy of praise but that doesn't change reality for one bit: truth is exclusive and several truths at the same time in the same sense are impossible. Denying the law of non contradiction is actually affirming it. Truth will always be truth.
Truth is exclusive, but the Dalai Lama is wise enough to understand that not everyone is willing to accept that truth no matter what. The Absolute Truth that the Buddha found out, that is, that there is not absolute truth and that everything is relative is, after all, quite difficult to comprehend.
The concept of one God is not obvious to every kind of person..Dalai lamas answer is intended to harmonize people with different beliefs. Truth is exclusive.. But when we are in this world what matters is people living in peace and Harmony and forcing your beliefs on some body is not the way to that
There IS only One Real Truth--Therefore How many Relivion's RE LIVE the ION is where Religion came from ONE PUNY LITTLE WRONG WORD and everything goes to POT. why would someone want to come back when you die, to many people suffer, feel hurt, struggle through life why repeat it, I would rather choose Jesus who offers to take away all the pain and gives us rest forever in endless peace
That's the mindset of a person not willing to take responsibility for his own salvation, preferring something else or someone to die for all their sins and troubles etc. Or for a devil figure to blame for all of their selfishness and evil they themselves willingly choose to do to others around them etc. You people want an easy way out, so you distorted Jesus' teachings throughout all these years, and make it conform to your own selfish needs for peace without personal effort.
Actually, if you do very good in life, you will become a human. Throughout your lifetimes, the more good things you do, the higher you are. If you repeated great lifetimes for like a billion times, you can break free, of this universe and join the Buddha.
The true religion is Islam To worship God alone, without a partner The Christian book has been corrupted Same thing with the Jews book. But the Quran is preserved because God pledged to preserve it until the Day of Judgment God said: {إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ} Meaning: {We have sent down the remembrance, and we preserve it for him} Allah only accepts the Islam religion since the revelation of Quran God said: {وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ} Meaning: {He who desires a religion other than Islam will not be accepted from it, and in the hereafter he is one of the losers}
You are wrong. We still are born in sin, but by accepting Christ our sins are forgiven. Everybody before Christ who died got opportunity to take his sacrifice as he preached in realm of death between crucificition and arise. And God is not a hypocrite. People who never heard about God and Jesus will be judged by their own law and their own heart. Read Paul. But everybody who heard about Jesus and rejects him has no excuse. God is righteous.
Is truth relative? I don't think so. Truth is an absolute otherwise there is no foundation at all for what is. If everyone is special no one is, likewise if truth is relative it doesn't exist. To even say that truth is relative is an absolute truth statement. The Dalai Lama is wrong.
@Ellie Fuller No.. it sounds that people do not want to face the ugly thruth. And here it is: You are a sinner. No elightment will save you from damnation. Thats why you need salvation, not elightment. Enlightment is good for your ego maybe.
Completely out of context. You see.. you have NO insight. Scripture ALWAYS has to be considered as a whole. You do the same mistake as the people who burned people on the stake. No reincarnation: "Just as people are destined to die ONCE, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many". - Hebrew 9,27-28

Romans 6:23 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Dalai Lama answer is very respectful to all religions, and there is more truth in his answer, than all the religions put together.
except to his own religion! a foolish power obsessed demon!
In what way is there more truth in his answer than in all religions put together?
@Str8DV8 and I never said that.

I love this man. He talks like Yoda 😂 But I totally understand when he compares religion to medicine. Simply amazing!!!

The problem with creating our own path to spiritual enlightenment is lack of concrete evidence and likelihood of plagiarism of existing bleifs....
We need to reflect on religion and spirituality....
Religion is not the subject to be imposed on someone forcefully
Instead we should teach our children all the religions and leave its upto them to choose which religion they feel is suitable for their personal development and well being .

(I understand there is no single buddhist view on abortion, only a general majority against it)
3:33 There's Yoda

I believe in God, I know a man who died and came back, he said that heaven is more real than Earth.
Your HOLINESS Dalai Lama.
Greetings & best wishes.
TRUTH IS TRUTH AND THE TRUTH IS ONLY ONE LIKE THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD THE ALMIGHTY WHO MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH AND EVERYTHING IN IT. Who said" IAM THE TRUTH, THE WAY AND THE LIFE(ETERNAL).
I believe HIM, THE TRUTH.
With love 💘 and respect

Im worried,
What if I have this illness, I take this medicine which I think is the best for me, and I end up in Hell because I have taken the wrong medicine, and god of another religion just said "you're wrong taking that medicine.
"26) The Savior said There is no sin, but it is you who make sin when you do the things that are like the nature of adultery, which is called sin."
"22) The Savior said, All nature, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots."
When was the "gospel of Mary Magdala written"? Who wrote it? What makes you think it's reliable in carrying on Jesus' words?

So, No real answer... I get the point, but it's interesting how "holy" people cannot give a simple answer to questions like these. Instead, everything becomes an analogy... The question wasn't about going to a buffet. Lol.
As much as i want to answer from islamic point of view, the true answer is no, all religion has it's good and bad....
The moment this person draws his last breath, and falls into the reality of ETERNITY, he will suddenly call out , and find out , that there is one there , because he rejected the ONE AND ONLY WAY for ETERNAL LIFE . That way is Jesus Christ , the only way.
@cooperstan581 YouR Demi-god "Jesus Christ" doesn't exist bud. At best, Jesus is a combination of multiple itinerate rabbis with the same name who lived around the same time. Stop shoving your religion down everyones' throats, everyone has the freedom to believe and disbelieve in whatever they want to.
Yes and no, the religion of Buddhism is United with Spirituality.
Islam is the true religion, i promise
But I. Love you
1:36 In what 'religions' does ब्रह्मन्/God not feature. In one sutra, the Buddha's name is Ocean of Atoms of ब्रह्मन् .
1:52 And who IS talking about "creator"?
In GENESIS 1, הָֽאָדָם֙ were created by אֱלֹהִ֑ים (Elohim plural; male and female). GENESIS 1: 26 And אֱלֹהִ֑ים (Elohim) said, Let US make אָדָ֛ם in OUR 'rupa', after OUR 'character': and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the 'land', and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the 'land'. 27 So אֱלֹהִ֑ים (Elohim) created הָֽאָדָם֙ in own image/form, in the image/form of אֱלֹהִ֑ים (Elohim) created; male and female created them.
GENESIS 1:1 In the beginning אֱלֹהִ֑ים (Elohim plural; male and female) created the heaven and the 'ground'.
2 And the 'ground' was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the 'wind' of אֱלֹהִ֔ים (Elohim) moved upon the face of the waters.
لا اله الا الله
means: there is no 'OBJECT OF WORSHIP' other than Allah. 'Another
meaning for “Ilah” ” إله” is to 'find refuge in'. So: There is no 'OBJECT OF REFUGE' other than Allah.
Then if we take 'Ilah' as 'machine', 'tool', 'contrivance', we can also say; 'there is no 'CAUSALITY/CAUSATION' other than Allah. - 2:07
1:52 'Buddhism' doesn't talk about "the creator"? Shunyata is not a 'creator'?
2:39 "Several truths"? Or one truth expressed in different terms?
Salvation through Jesus.
Is your choice
@Subhobrata Chakravorti ohh yes Jesus was never born. He never died. He was just an animated character. Idi*iot why do you have to put one's religion always down? You have put Jesus pic in your profile and shaming him? B**tch listen you better change that and also don't talk sh**t about one's religion. The same I could say for your religion
You are worng. We are not save by works but by grace. Thats a main issue which the apostel Paul makes clear.
According to different illness, you need different medicine. 😮 1:20
I did, reason I don't believe any of it considering the people who published the final version burned people at the stake for having different beliefs.
God of Jesus: "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)
God of Moses: "I will tear open their breast, and there I will devour them like a lion." (Hosea 13:8)
You all need to know that: Buddhas was the one who God sent to born in the higher place as the King Palace, so he can teach and tell people to listen to him. Jesus was the one God sent to born in the very low place, only people who have mind and vision can see and understand Jesus is the saver. Amen.
God did not send Buddha.
God is God
Buddha is Buddha
How do you know. Every thing in this world was created by God. Buddha predicted to human that the saver will come after him.
How did you know God sent Buddha?
God didn’t create everything.
No one can gain eternal life
so his answer was no.
@@powerincarnate6783 the title is called is there the only true religion. If Buddhism is true, what makes it true? Where are the evidence?
I believe Catholic Christianity is true and from my point of view it seems it has the most amount of evidence and the exolanatory scope.
If Christianity is true, Buddhism can't be.
My most important question is: if Christianity were true would you become a Christian?
@@eugengolubic2186 You see, Buddhism is very different from Catholicism, the answer he gave was considering Buddhism to be true. With Buddhism is not like you'll be damned for not believing in Buddha. So if Christianism helps you more to be a better person, even if we believe it to not be true, it is better than to be a bad Buddhist.
@@powerincarnate6783 I don't know if you saw it, but I asked you if Christianity were TRUE, would you become a Christian.
Why should I or you believe in something false?
@@eugengolubic2186 If christianity was true I suppose I would, altough I would have to discuss things with Yahweh first. What does this have to do with what the Dalai Lama said anyway?
Disturbance of existence:
I will speak to you in simple words so that you may understand whom you are.
\
you are a mere snippet within existence called a "human being" created amongst others.
Who are the others- Simple- Entities living away from your existence! What they
do is prepare you for a new future- how they do it, has been done slowly within your history!
They do not want to shock you.
Why they do this is to unite us as one within existence. When we become united we then become Gods.
The question is where is God perfection today? If there is a God perfection we should not exist! Why
is it that we do exist? It does not make sense unless we live under a reality that is built to
punish us. God Perfection does not need to create or improve itself-its satisfied with itself!
so why do you exist under god imperfection!
Understand this- the universe and you are the same-We both have the same structure and
live equally in chaos!
Which means the greatest minds in existence are striving to know the answer as well as we do
by studying us humans and the rest of intelligent life across the universe by way of mutating their
DNA with not only ours but all species across the universe and as well within inter dimensional beings..
aliens are in search of perfection as we do! We are finally in partnership with them(aliens).
Why? contact me.
Alien studied results-Regarding the "human race" Religion and the money system are not the answer-
it keeps you in wars and in enslavement amongst yourselves globally forever unless you reject it all!
Simple is the answer, contact me if you want to know more of the truth.
If the truth is to hard for you remain stuck in your man made reality until
you are ready to receive the truth about peace and freedom.
Its an invitation to the truth-its for you to decide.
I'm here for anyone who wants to know the truth!
Disturbance of existence..your existence.
Spread the truth-this message- if you do this you will live in freedom
once and for all! Aliens want a betterment of you-they want you to be free.
Like them! Simply to become a society of explorers without worrying about food and money or religion!
Aliens show themselves by way of UFO/s so that you can get used to the idea that they do exist!
This is a movement called : Disturbance of existence

Genesis 3
ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil
same lie as the first lie, new paint job
Well, logically no two religions can be true at the same time because they all contradict each other. You can’t both go to heaven and be reborn at the same time.
@star 3 If some of the central dogmas of the religions doesn't matter then why be religious at all?
@star 3 Do you only behave moral and are you only kind to others in hope of a reward from God or karma?
Jesus Is The only Way.
this is cheating about one truth,.........one truth and one true religion must exist .....but variety is not denied ....people got free well to choose one truth or multible lies ....then they take responsability of thier own choices ....this is the test of life
"My perspective on religion - Patrick Harold Cross II" video on youtube Provides the only answer I have found satisfactory pertaining to religion.
Repent and come to Jesus Christ✝️ before it’s to late.
Jo. If I say "You have an arm!" and you say "I have a leg!" We are still saying different things and still both speaking the truth.
The concept of one God is not obvious to every kind of person..Dalai lamas answer is intended to harmonize people with different beliefs. Truth is exclusive.. But when we are in this world what matters is people living in peace and Harmony and forcing your beliefs on some body is not the way to that
Don't be a tard
There IS only One Real Truth--Therefore How many Relivion's RE LIVE the ION is where Religion came from ONE PUNY LITTLE WRONG WORD and everything goes to POT.
WE are ALL ION's and NOW WE have the ION of TRUTH called COMPASSION--come pass the ION.

AKA AS LONG AT WE MAKE MONEY I DONT GIVE A FUCK
why would someone want to come back when you die, to many people suffer, feel hurt, struggle through life why repeat it, I would rather choose Jesus who offers to take away all the pain and gives us rest forever in endless peace
Valdemar Daraujo does Jesus do that or your perspective does that think about it.
Valdemar Daraujo and endless pain to all other who are not of the same faith huh?
The true religion is Islam
To worship God alone, without a partner
The Christian book has been corrupted
Same thing with the Jews book.
But the Quran is preserved because God pledged to preserve it until the Day of Judgment
God said:
{إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ}
Meaning:
{We have sent down the remembrance, and we preserve it for him}
Allah only accepts the Islam religion since the revelation of Quran
God said:
{وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ}
Meaning:
{He who desires a religion other than Islam will not be accepted from it, and in the hereafter he is one of the losers}
If you say so!
Why are born or created out of sin? Isn't the creator god supposed to the almighty and compassionate?
Is truth relative? I don't think so. Truth is an absolute otherwise there is no foundation at all for what is. If everyone is special no one is, likewise if truth is relative it doesn't exist. To even say that truth is relative is an absolute truth statement. The Dalai Lama is wrong.
No, he's not. He's talking from a non dualistic point of view.
People dont need enlightment, people need salvation.
No. People need enlightment
Only true religion is Buddhist. I will convert my religion to buddism soon.. I have faith in Buddha. I studied all religion mostly but I found the best is Buddhism. If you want to experience than study. Don't blur
