  • As part of the Master of Science Arts & Creative Industries Management programme at Kedge Business School, Jean-Philippe Thiellay, President of the Centre National de la Musique, gave a MasterClass focusing on three questions: why a CNM in 2020, a French singularity? How did the CNM intervene in the Covid19 crisis or the strength of the French cultural state in preserving its sectors including music in this pandemic? Will we still be going to opera in 15 years? An arlesian question that opera houses are working hard on.
For the record, music is the number one cultural practice of the French, who listen to it for an average of 2 hours a day. It is one of France's leading cultural industries with a turnover estimated at nearly 10 billion euros in 2019 (EY study), and a growing dynamism in exports.
