As a 27 year old woman MY Superman is Christopher Reeve, the iconic and legendary one, who embodies the spirit of Superman, and it shows throughout the years of his life with the accident which btw you all can watch his documentary. Christopher Reeve is the standard Superman everyone knows it, it shows in the later films & tv series. The fact that Gunn paid homage to THE Superman theme with a twist for the younger gen, is already a sold out. Y’all don’t understand because Superman IS the beacon of hope, the REAL Superman PROTECTS, Superman SAVES PEOPLE, Superman is about Honor & Justice. Superman DOESN’T KILL. Superman is about kindness. That’s the REAL Superman.

I agree. Zack snyder gave him a biblical approach which is the exact opposite of superman. Who ever prefers him over any other adaptation thus far just doesn’t understand the character and has never read a superman story from start to finish.
At least with Watchmen he stayed quite faithful with some scenes being basically shot for shot remakes. The main difference being the alien squid is replaced with a Dr Manhattan bomb

He understands and gets the character of Superman better than everybody. And ofc he won't make the movie another "Guardians" he's not stupid. He recently addressed this in an interview saying Superman will be an epic, emotional and poignant Superhero story. And even the humour in it will be more like Game of Thrones-ish than Suicide Squad-ish. His catalog already speaks for itself.

I'll say this. Superman has always been my all-time favorite superhero. He embodies the best in humanity. This is the most excited I have been about a Superman property in a very long time. Not true. Snyder was told to make the movie realistic because WB loved Nolan's Batman so much. You can't really make a realistic Superman movie, but there was one comic that tried. Superman: Earth One; Volume One and Two. Snyder took those two books and adapted them to make Man of Steel and BvS. The alien invasion searching for the Last Son of Krypton and the gravity beam wrecking Metropolis, Zod fighting Superman to near draw, only in the comic, Zod brutalized Supes. Alexander Luthor was brought in to consult by the US government after the invasion and then Supes going around the world and getting involved in foreign wars. Alexander created a weapon to weaken Supes which he used in the fight with Zod to allow Zod the upperhand. Zod had shown up claiming to be Kal's uncle and that he wanted to take him home and would leave Earth if the government helped him with Supes. Alexander figured out that Zod was actually playing them and so became the hero and used his weapon on Zod which allowed Supes to win. Alexander died doing it though and his wife, Dr. Alexandra "Lex" Luthor swore vengeance on Superman. They're really good stories and Snyder did his best, but there's elements that people wouldn't have liked. Clark was barely in his twenties and was super mopey because Jonathan was recently deceased and he was not dealing with it very well.

Even though i really liked the DCEU it was not a connected Universe, it was like Zack Snyders Movies, Wonder woman and Aquaman were seperate from the others. I look forward to seeing this in the DCU. I like that James is bringing forward so many of the DCU characters to the screen and animation. I for one was sick of seeing Batman-Superman-Batnan-Superman over and over again. Marvel's success is down to the large number of characters it has brought to the screen.

Svpermav, you kept saying the trailer reminded you what we missed out on in terms of what Henry Cavill could have been with Superman. Well you have to blame Zack Snyder for that. Even though like you, I really liked Man of Steel. But to a lot of people, this trailer reminded them of Superman. And what Superman is at his core. And I don't disagree. Love the trailer too.
@@adeolaatitebi4575 I don’t blame Zack Snyder because I still loved his version of Superman. I have a lot of respect for him as a director and as a person, something that the studio failed to do when he was working on his films. When I say “what MoS could have been” I was moreso talking about the sequel that everyone was hyping up, and later on never happened even after teasing Henry’s return.
@@svpermav I respect what you're saying. And I really liked Man of Steel too. But where I would push back is Zack Snyder could have made a proper Man of Steel sequel. But he chose to have Superman face Batman in the next movie. And then it snowballed into Batman v Superman, instead of a sequel to Man of Steel. Also, the fact that Ben Affleck's Batman didn't get a solo movie before facing Superman is yes on the old WB executives at the time sure, but that's also on Zack Snyder. They were all trying to catch up to Marvel so fast that they didn't take the time to let the audience get to know these characters. And I also have to say respect to you that even though you love Henry Cavill as Superman, you're willing to move forward with a new Superman and DC universe.
This is like bad cosplay...and I grew up with the Christopher Reeve version! Pass.
