Good review, but I was kind of distracted by how dope the background music was.
It’s from the game itself, the amazing music was just as distracting in game as it was here! Lol
I think KC Nwosu is my favorite reviewer for this series. He does a really good job balancing explanation of the general thrust of the game, acknowledging highlights and shortcoming, and giving his general opinion all in the time frame.
These reviews are good! Nice and concise.
I like this format of 3 minute reviews! Keep it up:)
Good concise review :) though for anyone who hasn't played it yet, I'd say the side missions are definitely worth attempting, don't mind the failure penalty, because if you play stealthy, all those side missions are perfectly doable, albeit taking a bit of time. The limited amount of saves seems restrictive, but in my playthrough it felt like an abundance of saves, more than enough. (I was playing on normal difficulty)
Turn based games never butter my croissants. At higher difficulties, it's like you have to make perfect moves the game scripted or else you lose. Nice review though
That's not true, except for a few titles
Not true, look at XCOM series
Sérgio Almeida xcom has a feeling like that if we include the old ones anyway
Soundtrack is pretty cool too
This looks like an interesting game. I've always been keen to play This is the Police too.
heck, i'd been looking forward to this game specifically bc of the story of the previous This Is The Police games. on the plus side, it's way cheaper than I thought it'd be and I still like strategy games :P
Thanks for the great quick review! :D
The turn based sections were my favourite addition to TITP 2 so I’ll definitely be picking this up.
I’m so glad this game is out, I always wanted to try out the xcom style gameplay in this is the police 2 but I haven’t finished the story for the first one so this game is perfect
Love me some turn based strategy and the story looks fun and interesting
I only lost 2 cops in my play though(on missions) and that was only at the last part of da game
Even tough the police don't have a backstory bulka is still my favourite
Good review! However only thing I disagree with is the over abundance of side quests. I never felt like they’re too many, only parts in which there are a lot are The Mansion and the Supermarket, but those are basically “stock up missions”, in which you aren’t really on a timer and you’re there more or less just to swipe the place clean off the valuables. If you have a tightly packed squad of six cops or split your men in packs of three then every encounter becomes quite trivial unless you start your mission with nothing. You’ll find out how easy later missions are when your entire police team is equipped with shotties and silenced guns!
Like playing capture the ayys in XCOM
I like the game, but it kinda blows that if I shoot someone the whole team gets seen. It does not make sense that if I can crouch behind a wall for all eternity and the enemy can't see me, but once they hear a shot from the complete opposite direction is their clue that someone was standing behind the wall all along. I get that they are now alert, but if I could not be seen because of obsticales then the enemy should run to the fired shot or look and shoot at my cops who are not behind cover and can be seen.
Thankfully, however, arresting will probably be completely silent, as it was in This Is The Police 2
humble bundle this month january 2022... looks fun, gonna get it
May I ask, what difficulty were you playing on?
Normal and easy.
Great review, thank you very much excellent job!!!!
Though Rebel Cops was good enough, I think that the game could definitely be better. I even wish that these things are added in Rebel Cops:
1. *More interactions in stealth gameplay.* If you are familiar to some games like Snake, Hitman series and The Last of Us, those games truly encourage stealth to the max. Sure, hiding and staying away from field of view are paramount, but there's still possible things to interact with unaware guards, and one of them is *distraction.* You can make a noise, not too loud to alert the whole gang, but also not too silent either, enough to make a suspicious guard look the other way. An option to pick an object and throw it away to the ground is one of a good mechanism, and is commonly used in Hitman. This option also liberates people to solve a mission in more creative ways, rather than sticking to the rule of stale and monotonous stealth by simply following the path of patroling guards.
2. *Option to loot enemy bodies.* In Rebel Cops, collectibles and loots are extremely restricted to a fixed amount of the level design it gives to you, simply stresses you into a long and boring hunt of loots across the map (and this is what I personally hate the most from Rebel Cops). Meanwhile, you can kill a suspect, possibly carrying with him a weapon and its ammo, but you _can NOT_ take them from his body, meaning the suspect simply brings his properties with him to the grave. And this is not a case you'll likely find in the actual situation. Since killing a suspect grants less XP than arresting him, I suggest a compensation with the option to examine the suspect's corpse and loot anything you can find from it.
3. *Confirmation for taking every action, and action undo.* In Rebel Cops, every action is done by a simple mouse click/finger tap. But, this can recourse into an irreversible damage where you mis-click into a wrong, fatal action and it can simply ruin your whole mission run, and nobody wants that in a long mission. Also, if the players feel like they just made a wrong decision of action with their cop, it is always nice to undo their action in order to readjust their tactic. Adding a confirmation and undo option adds a perfect safety guard for these cases.
4. *Add a random mission generator.* Though trivial and not really necessarily needed, it would be nice if the players can access random missions where they meet various tools and threats to creatively strategize and pave their way to solve the mission, and essentially build their sense of tactical police combat throughout experiences.
Anybody know what the music is?
It's part of the in game soundtrack
I would have liked to hear how this game compares to Xcom or Invisible inc.
Think of it as a less complicated version of XCOM or Invisible Inc. The management is similar to Invisible Inc, it is very simple, you buy stuff and upgrade your guys, that's about it (unlike in XCOM where you build a base and choose which mission to go to). The combat is just turn based combat with cover. I'd say overall it is closer to Invisible Inc than XCOM.
Very Amazing
I Really Love
Great Job
Like It
Nice
Is it any better than This is the Police?
I know the editor reads these comments, is there any way you could get someone to write longer length reviews? Or is that not viable? I like this reviewer alot, I just wish he had the time to go into more detail.
KC, you're saying we shouldn't play it on normal?
I really didn't like it much at the normal difficulty, you may feel differently but if you're asking me then yeah start it on the Relaxed mode it's really not that much easier lol
I play it on mobile and just finish it, its a kinda fun game but the ending tho, just like a kick to the balls
I think you meant: "It's available on PC..." and then the consoles. It's in the Constitution.
IT SHOULD BE THE ORDER WAY AROUND
@@levianderson8822 Please, you're embarrassing yourself.
An interesting idea though super heroic rogue cops in the US especially is an uuuuh, not fun premise to me.
It's like i am watching "This is the Police 1 and 2"!!
Seems like it can frustrate you easliy
Any tactical game with permadeath and update savefile that applies RNG chances to your decisions is frustrating in nature, doesn't matter if you plan ahead and play carefully or just run and gun everything that moves, no strategy, tactics or maneuver can save you from a bad roll of the dice.
@Denam Indeed, currently on my fourth campaign of Long War in ironman impossible, because I hate myself of course.
Picture this situation, last movement of an engagement against a pack of sectoids, 3 dead out of 4 and I have actions for an assault, gunner and granedier when 3 thin man patrol into my position (it was a bullshit 1 tile reveal when I moved my grenadier to nade range), they took cover behind a pile of rocks next to the sectoid, I carefully put a nade to blow the rocks, leaving 1 for my assault to take cover, thankfully the toid dies on the blast, that leave me with the 3 thin mans somewhat wounded, I suppress the farthest one with my gunner and run an gun the one in the middle with the assault, why? cus the assault has Close Combat Specialist, he will shot anything that move in a 4 tile radius, so I move him to flank, the thin man are in the open and flanked, they'll have to relocate to engage that will grant me free shots in close range, an aggressive maneuver, I know, but due to the close range nature of the shotgun I bet it will suffice the need of extermination.
Turn comes to an end with 2 thin mans standing in the open, the one suppressed by the gunner makes a move (I play with perfect information, that adds some flavor, salty flavor to the game) so the gunner take and opportunist overwatch 90% sot and miss, CCS from the assault, 99% shot MISS! Thankfully the thin man freak out and gets the fuck outta of dodge, retreating into the FoW out of line of sight, the second thin man, closest to the assault makes a move, CCS 99% shot MISS! He makes it to a tree, high cover, and shot my gunner in full cover with a 37% shot, hits for 6 DMG, farewell my gunner, he's DED on the ground, panic chain spreads like wildfire, leaving only my medic with steadfast to fend for himself, I relocate him an deploy smoke to cover my most vulnerable units in panic, turn ends, now a pod of 4 mutons patrol into my position, all went downhill after that.
In what world is "FAIR AND BALANCED" to miss 2 99% shotguns to the face shots IN A ROW? the 90% overwatch shot, well, is overwatch, even with opportunist, I never count on it to kill or even do damage.
Second

This game looks like too much work.
