Don't get too excited about this result. Brazil has struggled with qualifiers and this is a friendly match. It's best to avoid injuries. They also have a new manager. The US still has a tough road ahead and has issues transitioning. and finishing. The defense improved a lot though.
Chritian Pulisic USMNT captain set the tone of the game in favor of the USMNT with a hard tackle on a Brazil player early in the game. That is what I captain needs to do be bold send the message we are not going to be push around were going to fight.

Well said. Miss Dest and Adams a LOT, especially against the big powerhouses. Adams takes a lot of the defensive mid responsibilities away from Weston, which allows him to play more free and go forward. Getting Adams and Dest back is VERY key
USMNT executed better and this Brazil squad has issues itself. I wouldn't say that the USA were brilliant. The defense still needs a lot of work and they need to finish more opportunities, but overall it was a net positive and an encouraging performance for the USMNT. Solid even if it's not brilliant.

Great game for the lads they reminded me of tmhe best of previous US teams, lots of fight, good goal keeping with a sprinkle here and there of special attacking talent. However this team is clearly more talented technically than previous teams, the passing out of back (which they stay with too stubbornly at times ala VS Colmbia) was special
Colombia was able to put a lot of pressure on USMNT, which caused the errors the Americans made. However, with Brazil, USA defense was great, and the team showed a lot more focus, technique.
I'm glad Ream got some compliments. He was very Brave on the ball in risky areas, successfully keeping possession and maintaining calm and ultimately giving huge confidence to the whole team from that. The difference between what he did and the other option of hoofing the ball out of defense - is Monumental for a team's collective spirit. He took on huge responsibility and it paid off. One mistake and a resulting Brazilian goal and Ream would have been heavily criticized.

I don’t think you can knock Brazil down to be honest, yes they haven’t been at their best recently but they turned it up after the 65th minute after that VAR decision. Not sure we would’ve tied if they kept that aggressiveness for the entire game and I guess that’s what’s so interesting about Brazil, the fact they can turn that switch on in a second.

It's fair to say that Guimaraes, Paqueta, Pereira, and Douglas Luiz don't play for Top top teams and this is why Brazil are vulnerable. If they had a midfielder who plays for a Top top team (like Rodri) they would be much stronger.

I’m glad they mentioned it at the end. Brazil is going into this tournament relying on their history, pedigree, and individual talent. They lack unity and I think this result is a reflection of that, instead of US putting on a good performance.
While arguably the most talented USMNT side ever, against top competition they are not good enough to bring anything less than full intensity and grit while minimizing mistakes. Team USA can challenge anyone on their day when they bring the intensity.
I appreciate the team coming out and getting a result against Brazil. But the loss to Colombia is still Unacceptable. The team needs to be consistent. Improved effort by the US especially defensively. Turners error for the Brazil goal was disappointing but he made up for it in the rest of the game. Tim Ream for me was the best player on the night - he displayed good judgement and was cool under pressure. Scally played very well against Vinicius. My concern remains with the so called top players - it’s time for them to realize their full potential especially Pulisic, Weah , McKennie and Reyna . I expect more from these players . A win was on last night but there were missed opportunities.

I think Antonee Robinson needs to slow/calm down, especially going forward. Too often he looks a bit out of control going forward and his crosses often seem rushed and ineffective. I want him to succeed because he seems really likable, but at present I see him as a liability moving forward, and not good enough defensively to justify a starting spot. Antonee --> you have the physical tools ... just relax a half beat, especially moving forward.
What was more impressive? US draw with Brazil after being pasted by Columbia 5-1 OR Canada draw against France after being shelled by the Netherlands 4-0? Respectfully, I would say Canada’s showing was more impressive. Why? Well, (1) Only Jesse Marsch’s 2nd game in charge of Canada, (2) Canada was on the road vs US playing at home (3) France has a higher FIFA ranking than Brazil. One could argue that the US scored a goal vs Canada not scoring but Canada also had a clean sheet, so I think that’s a push. Question is, will these bounce back friendlies for both teams translate to success at Copa America?
The fact is, fans will not be happy until GGG gets fired. The USMNT can reach the semis and play at a high level beating Uruguay or Brazil along the way, but it won't be enough.
My opinion of the team really hasn't changed. Berhalter should be gone before we host the world cup in 2026. I understand they played better, but against elite competition, the defense still looks shaky and Brazil squandered a lot of good opportunities with poor shots and execution. The other thing is that when you play top-20 teams you have to bury good chances. Pulisic in the 68th minute should have buried that beautiful pass to the middle of the box. You have to convert those against good teams. That was as good a look as you can get. It's better than losing 5-1 mind you, but I still need to see them do it in Copa and actually make a run in Copa for me to feel any differently.

They have the two best gkers, ballon d or contestant in Vini, four 70-120 million dollar rated midfielders in Paqueta (who admittedly was a ghost that day), Luiz, Guimares, Gomez, starting CF for Madrid Rodrigo, not even including great talents Marquinhos and Raphina, this is a very talented squad. A good stabilizing game. Put themselves in a position to get a lucky win. But the stats at the beginning tell the story. Those stats will result in a US loss most of the time. They have to play this hard and be this scrappy consistently to have a chance of doing well. Still don’t believe Berhalter can get them there. Copa America will tell.
USMNT played much better but a wake up call to me is with Brazil. Their midfield is concerning to me and they were sloppy. Again it’s a friendly so we have to factor the intensity Brazil had vs the US.

Don't have the Copa start and be out there looking like it's a scrimmage. Get your team ready to play from the beginning! That's on him, and he absolutely should still be replaced. All this match proved was that this team actually can hang with the best of them, but they need the right guidance and a tactically sound manager.

I’m glad they mentioned it at the end. Brazil is going into this tournament relying on their history, pedigree, and individual talent. They lack unity and I think this result is a reflection of that, instead of US putting on a good performance.

While arguably the most talented USMNT side ever, against top competition they are not good enough to bring anything less than full intensity and grit while minimizing mistakes. Team USA can challenge anyone on their day when they bring the intensity.
I appreciate the team coming out and getting a result against Brazil. But the loss to Colombia is still Unacceptable. The team needs to be consistent. I expect this team to be one of the final four teams left in Copa America at the end. No excuses at this point. We know what this team is capable of. At this point its either put up or shut up. IMO Leadership changes are necessary to get the most out of this squad. This team should be farther along then they currently are. We've wasted way too much time.

Improved effort by the US especially defensively. Turners error for the Brazil goal was disappointing but he made up for it in the rest of the game. Tim Ream for me was the best player on the night - he displayed good judgement and was cool under pressure. Scally played very well against Vinicius. My concern remains with the so called top players - it’s time for them to realize their full potential especially Pulisic, Weah , McKennie and Reyna . I expect more from these players . A win was on last night but there were missed opportunities.

I think Antonee Robinson needs to slow/calm down, especially going forward. Too often he looks a bit out of control going forward and his crosses often seem rushed and ineffective. I want him to succeed because he seems really likable, but at present I see him as a liability moving forward, and not good enough defensively to justify a starting spot. Antonee --> you have the physical tools ... just relax a half beat, especially moving forward.
What was more impressive? US draw with Brazil after being pasted by Columbia 5-1 OR Canada draw against France after being shelled by the Netherlands 4-0?
Respectfully, I would say Canada’s showing was more impressive. Why? Well, (1) Only Jesse Marsch’s 2nd game in charge of Canada, (2) Canada was on the road vs US playing at home (3) France has a higher FIFA ranking than Brazil.
One could argue that the US scored a goal vs Canada not scoring but Canada also had a clean sheet, so I think that’s a push.
Question is, will these bounce back friendlies for both teams translate to success at Copa America?
The fact is, fans will not be happy until GGG gets fired. The USMNT can reach the semis and play at a high level beating Uruguay or Brazil along the way, but it won't be enough.

My opinion of the team really hasn't changed. Berhalter should be gone before we host the world cup in 2026. I understand they played better, but against elite competition, the defense still looks shaky and Brazil squandered a lot of good opportunities with poor shots and execution. The other thing is that when you play top-20 teams you have to bury good chances. Pulisic in the 68th minute should have buried that beautiful pass to the middle of the box. You have to convert those against good teams. That was as good a look as you can get. It's better than losing 5-1 mind you, but I still need to see them do it in Copa and actually make a run in Copa for me to feel any differently.
Confused on how this is such a bad brazil squad? They have the two best gkers, ballon d or contestant in Vini, four 70-120 million dollar rated midfielders in Paqueta (who admittedly was a ghost that day), Luiz, Guimares, Gomez, starting CF for Madrid Rodrigo, not even including great talents Marquinhos and Raphina, this is a very talented squad. The past Brazil great squads would have two world players and this one only has one in Vini but the transfer value of this team has to be one of the highest in the world

A good stabilizing game. Put themselves in a position to get a lucky win. But the stats at the beginning tell the story. Those stats will result in a US loss most of the time. They have to play this hard and be this scrappy consistently to have a chance of doing well. Still don’t believe Berhalter can get them there. Copa America will tell.
USMNT played much better but a wake up call to me is with Brazil. Their midfield is concerning to me and they were sloppy. Again it’s a friendly so we have to factor the intensity Brazil had vs the US.
