Although, I will say this game sucks all of the asses, the fact that it's so broken makes it a lot of fun at times. It's like when you're watching a horrible movie, and it's sooo bad that you laugh your ass off the whole time.

the same way most people find about wrong warps: they have some basic mechanics of the game and they try to apply them so that they can skip portions of the game, through glitching them in the way they know to try and skip to a certain point of the game.

A natural instinct about liquids is to taste them.
Think of it: as people we already have a natural instinct to breast feed. When the cow's milk looks the same as the peoples milk, they probably decided to drink that instead since breast feeding is hard on the woman. We knew how to milk the cow because we saw the baby cows feeding, and we figured we could apply the same pressure to get milk of our own.
"Baby human drinks human milk from human titties. Baby cow drinks something from cow titties. Therefore, what baby cow is drinking should be cow milk, and it propably is edible."

I have a very simple explanation to why the boss fight ends after throwing that sky gem:
*(Bear with me, folks. This is a complicated one.)*
The when you grab on to a boss, you are physically attached to that boss. Wherever it goes, you go. This is how you get to ram bosses into obstacles (even when it's a bit hard to control).
By throwing a sky gem, the game tries to force Sonic to wherever the gem has landed. But because you're physically attached to the boss, it drags you to where the gem landed. But now, the boss keeps going in that direction through any and every obstacle because it's not a character; it's an entity that will phase through everything just in case something goes wrong. Because it's not touching a surface upon landing where the gem is; it keeps going. But the stage ends at some point. And because of how fast the gem will usually drag the player, after about 30-40 seconds, the game "ends", and it deletes anything that has touched this point. This is why, for example, a crate respawns after being dropped into the ocean; it touches that point after a bit. However, a boss is NOT meant to respawn, therefore effectively defeating the boss.
Usually when you defeat a boss, it gets deleted when you get the final hit on him, and it switches from an interactive entity to a standard entity, and plays a death animation while in standard form. Deleting a boss instantly gets rid of a lifebar, unless deleted in this way, where you are not one hit away from defeating him. It kinda just gets rid of the boss altogether.
Hope this helps for anyone curious s to why this occurs.

One time I was playing Sonic Heroes my game for some reason started to glitch out (this was back when I had my GameCube, I should also mention that I never used cheats or attempted to glitch out the game before).
I got to the fight against Team Chaotix after the jungle level during Team Rose's storyline, and before I could start the fight the floor below Team Chaotix started glitching out. I instinctively switched to Cream and jumped, while the other team tried to jump but soon fell into the water.
And that's how my save file has me completing that fight in 4 seconds. I was never able to replicate it, nor did I ever understand why that happened to begin with. But it was hilarious.

Hype. Sonic is a tremendous and *unpleasable* fanbase. Hence, you can expect instant huge sales.
***** Unpleasable? The Sonic fanbase seems to love this and even Sonic Boom. They're pleased by pretty much any crap released with the name Sonic in the title.

Someone actually genuinely made these gems, effectively chucking a moon jump hack in the game - it's equally glitchy. I can't even believe how broken this game is.

The xbla demo version actually has a gem meter (the little line under that bigger line at the bottom right on the hud) but since they lost progress in a system crash/error, they had to switc back to an older build and work up from there, and frankly, it's probable that there were other things more important to fix till the rushed release day.
Nicely done, I'm loving these. Looking forward to Shadow and Silver. :D

I think I know what happened with the "boss-killing gem" glitch: The boss charges at you, an you grab its horn, which lets you control it to make it crash into something, right? But, becouse of the gem, Sonic teleports away from the boss after it went on player-controlled mode. Since there's no player control it becouse Sonic regained its "normal" control, the boss just keeps going... and going... and going... and, at some point, it goes so out of boundaries that the game either ignores it or erases it, and gives you the victory becouse "the boss is gone"
... Dunno... just guessing =P

Definitely more. At least you can play Gen 1 games normally and not encounter loads of glitches during your adventure.
this one is worse,gen 1 had glitches but they were out of the way for the most part and you'd have to look for them on purpose to find them. it's 100% impossible to play sonic 06 normally and not encounter a glitch
I disagree. Pokémon Gen 1 games have massive glitches that rally affect your gameplay. Sonic 06 has tons of tiny glitches that don't really matter. They're just annoying.

Glitchfest = Just showing off all sorts of glitches.
Glitch Quest = Playing the game from start to finish, glitching along the way, mostly so in a way that makes finishing the game quicker and easier.
While we're on the subject of Knuckles' section, i might at least add another glitch. It happens in his section. I don't know many details, but i'll try to explain how it happened. While playing in his section, there is a platform you can glide to, but if you land in a specific space there, you'll bounce off a bounce that *isn't there*, launching you into the roof, making you stuck temporarily on a wall. You can watch it in the Game Grumps Sanic 06 LP, part 20, at the 7:39 mark.

I'm just one guy, these video take ages to make. :( This one I was able to do in 1 week, but that's because most of the footage had already been recorded during the 2 week period from the Glitch Quest finale to episode 1 of this series. Shadow's section I need to get all new footage for.

... honestly, I like the style of what you have right now. It's something of its own in contrast to the endless always-the-same things we keep seeing everyday... it has its charm and doesn't look bad at all.

Considering how many glitches this game appears to have, Sonic '06: Glitchfest will eventually outnumber One Piece in terms of episodes :D
Curious on this I looked up stuff and there discovered there is an anime that has been ongoing since 1969 and has 7071 episodes albeit they are only 6 mins long (though technically they are 3 episode per tv episode, so that makes it around 2255 tv episodes). One Piece placed 19th on that list.

Ever since I was a kid I've been fascinated by glitches, back then I caught a 'M' block in pokémon red that really messed up my game.
(gave me a koffing lvl 100+ with infinite hp and also changed the color palette from red/brown/green to green/red/red)
You approach the glitches really well and your videos are very entertaining.
You also have a good voice to listen to, it reminds me of wowcrendor.

It's actually by chance. The development crashed when about 90+ % of the game was finished, setting the work back to zero. They then had to frantically work to make a game that took several years to make in *less than a year*

I found that spin kick on the crate glitch when I played this game when I was like 10. I used to mess around with it alllll the time lmao.
One awesome game for glitching is LoZ: Majora's Mask, particularly the Fierce Deity glitch! Another cool one in that game is inside the Milk Bar where you can move 4x as fast,
and many more.
