Beautiful setup. Im parital because i have your exact truck, but in 2021. You're so right about the Aisin in towhaul mode and the exhaust brake. Everyone else is 2nd place when it comes to confidence in stopping power.
@@RockyRohde I wanna go for a ride. In the 80's my Grandma lived behind The Home of Big Foot and we used to hang out there everyday all summer. There was another Monster truck called The Beast. It was an old Dodge truck. The owner of it was good friends of my Dad and uncle. We use to watch The Beast and Big Foot battle it out in the Mississippi River. This was before Big Foot got famous.
Another great informative video! I love the onboard air for the reese goosebox. That's awesome. I currently have a 22' Big Horn with the 12" screen. Between this truck and your preview Rams, have you had any issues with the screen not turning on? The radio will work but no picture on the screen. Just black. Its happened several times.
@@DM-tf6mk it was one of the reasons I traded the 22 in.. My screen and radio would cut out all the time. Had to pull over shut truck off open door and restart.. Sometimes holding tune and volume button would reset but Bluetooth module would still be locked up..
@RockyRohde That's exactly what I have to do. Shut it off open and close the door to reset. The few times it's done it, I'm not traveling far, so I get to my destination or going back home, so I leave it off, but it's annoying. A trade-in may be in my future. Thanks again for the replies, and I do look forward to your 25' build.
I have a 24 3500 HO & was a little disappointed it didn't have 5th wheel package but after learning about the Goosebox I'm glad I have a B&W turnover for their offset ball, I really like B&W stuff. I have a Bighorn CCSB & payload is only 3860, shopping for 5th wheel toy haulers the pin weights are pretty high for my truck which is why I like the Goosebox. How's your setup scale?
The b&w ball with 5” offset and goosebox is as good as it gets. Lippert owns Reese and that is why the goosebox are approved. Just buy you a goosebox and when you go shopping take it with you. Rv place can install it in about 1 hour.. I have had most fifth wheel hitches. The fifth wheels are easier to hook up. The goosebox has no kingpin slack and no chucking.. My RV is close to 3k pin weight but it is a toy hauler. On long trips we load the golf cart in the back and it reduces pin weight by about 400-500 pounds.
Curious to know what your transmission temps were pulling at that speed. My F-350 gets up around 225 in the summer here in Texas. My camper is about the same size and weight as yours. Thanks.
@@willblackerby9055 Ford runs trans temps higher than GM and Ram. All of my Fords towing were 220 plus in the summer. GM and Ram both generally run 165-190 with same load. When my trans would get up to 230 in the ford I would drop it to 8th and it would cool back down.. if you have the constant shifting between 9-10 it will build heat.. dropping it to 8th gets rpm up and keeps converter in lockup and also allows more flow from higher rpm. The only time I had these issues were trips over 300 miles and 100+ temps.
Towing under 10k prob won’t notice.. Towing large RVs significantly different. Leaf springs provide anti sway that coils do not.. Towing large RVs with 2500 is not great. The 2500 mega diesel also has as much payload as a 1500. Most mega diesel 2500 have a 1700 pound payload rating. The 3500 is like pulling on rails..

Why do you get dual alternators with your Rams? I’m going to be ordering a 2025/26 also and want to know the advantages. The only reason I know why people get it is to snowplow, bucket trucks, and so on. Are there any other advantages I should be aware of?
Quick question I’m having a hard time finding somebody in Houston Texas to put a decent lift on my 1500 diesel with factory air ride so I can put 37 inch tires like you have can u recommend
Holy crap I can’t keep up with the trucks I can’t even change my underwear fast enough lol I was hoping for alil longer with the Denali to see how it treated you before I went and bought one
My recommendations as of today in those order.. Just my honest opinion after owning them all.. I really like my Ram Interior but the ford had some pros also.. 1. Ford 2. Ram 3. GM
@ thanks I have been looking into a lariat ultimate tremor 6.7 ho as well my local dealer has just can’t decide I’ll be getting rid of my 22 high country duramax
With the bigger tires, what is your overall height on trailer, I have a 3500 Mega cab with stock 20” tires, 40’ trailer top of Air conditioner at 13.4” with 40 lbs in trucks air bags i ‘m setting leave. I’m at 25,300 total with no water on board, When you get over here on the west coast you maybe down to 2-3 gear , on some of these hills over here,
@@RockyRohde You must of lifted the trailer to keep level, I just switch to a goose neck Gen-y with the same extension ball in bed,, coming from a pullrite slider,, hope not to get into cab with trailer

Yes, that Cummins is a beast!
I agree. I have a 2021 HO/Aisin MegaCab. I really like how it tows and the Cummins/Aisin work well together..exhaust brake is the real deal as well.
I love seeing your Monster Truck in the background.
Yeah I need to start the big truck and run it.. Maybe I will do a video on that next week

Just having two of one fails is my reason.. Redundancy.. Also if you jump someone off the truck voltage will not drop as bad.
Have you tried the ppei trans tuning for the aisin? How much does this toy hauler weigh? Do you have airbags in the rear?
Truck has factory air suspension. The trailer is close to 14k empty.
I just bought a dually 3500 8 foot pulling a bumper pull toy hauler planning on buying a 44 foot 5th toy hauler i have the same trans and high output
The HO does not dissapoint.
I’m in shock at what the 0-60 was with the truck with those big tires and lift and that huge trailer 😳 That truck is perfect
whats the loaded weight of the trailer? and Pin weight? nice setup
