Completely agree. The Fall are the Fall. A one off of artistic vision that challenges and opens ears to listen to other music one wouldn’t have listened to. Also inspiring the listener to go to the library and rent out the literature of Albert Camus. It’s like when I talk to people about the Fall before I play the Fall. They say, what does the Fall sound like. I reply, The Fall sounds like The Fall. Mark E Smith was once asked in an interview what his favourite shop was. He replied ‘Bargain Booze’. Such a great answer.

I've heard King Gizzard quote this song quite a bit in some of their live shows, and they did it again at The Anthem, Washington DC. Holy moly I love this song now thanks to them.

You know how back in the day there were TV ads for new Windows operating systems? And they used iconic songs, like "Start Me Up" for Windows 95 and "Ray of Light" for XP?
Well, when I switched over to Linux, I figured that *I* needed a song to symbolize my new OS. "Blindness" was being used in a TV ad for a car at the time. So I picked this song for my switch to penguinny goodness...even though I couldn't name another song by The Fall if I tried.
So for me, whenever I hear this song, I think of Linux. 🐧

I always wondered if the version on the UK pressing is different from the US Narnack 2xLP pressing, and it is. I prefer the latter (marked "alternate version") on the label...I love this LP so much I bought it twice, I managed to score the white w/black splatter version NM/NM--and I paid LESS than I did for the regular black pressing! Both rare records but the white w/black variant is like rocking horse shit. Incredible record.
I dunno why the UK version is pressed on one LP, I may get it one day.

It's a good bit of bass...but isn't it taken from 'Witness (1 hope)' by Roots Manuva? It's essentially the same thing except with more bass and no 'trancy' up beat at the end.

Not really, the Pixies were more accessible and Sonic Youth were more avant garde, at least up to and including Daydream Nation. I like the Fall but always struggled to really get into them. Smith is a legend though.
