  • Not what you would typically use a Zero Turn Lawn Mower for but this is the only mower I have and it is well capable of cutting it down

    I’m guessing if you slowed down it may only take one pass versus three. I have identical looking property.

      unfortunately, here in Central Texas everything stops growing during the hot day Summer...now that Harvey is bringing a ton of rain, that is changing but I have to wait a 2 weeks at least after it stops raining until I no longer sink into the mud...

    I like my Two year old Maverick. It’s a hard working mower. Keep up the maintenance and it will last. I did one thing that made it much better. The front wheels have cheesy bearings and 1/2” axle bolts that do no last. If owners are honest they will admit this too if you’ve owned it awhile. I bought 5/8” axle bushings with grease fittings. Then I drilled out the fork holes to 5/8” and used 5/8” x 9” bolts. No more busted bearing issues. 😄. Spindles last a good while if you keep the blades sharp and balanced. The spindle bearings are sealed but you can grease them by prying off seal, pack grease, then carefully replace the seal.

    • @orange13
      @orange13  7 років тому

    Just a little possible advice, I have the same mower and LOVE it... I also have land I use it on the typically would be cut with our 15' shredder, but at times equipment isn't always available to use when I need it so For mowing, I use my outlaw.... Even in a pasture area like yours, I have better luck putting the deck down to about 2.5" and then once I cut 2passes or so, I come back up the the opposite direction once more, and usually that's all it takes to look really good.... Central Texas is a pain for having tall weeds that never cut easy but this mower makes it look simple.... Good luck

    Love the HD with the Honda motor but hate the 1 fuel tank

    agree one hundred percent with brandon pritchard. go a bit lower and you'll bet a better cut with less passes - counterintuitive I know but it works because the base of the grass is stiffer and gets cut before it has a chance to bend over.

    That must have taken all day. Not the mowing. All the film. Nice use of the drone. 👍

      thank you. on the last drone shots I somehow triggered the wheel on the remote that controls exposure correction and it caused the footage to be overexposed. I recovered as much as I could in post but it's still way too bright :-)
