Welcome to the VoicePlay Universe! The subterranean bass singer is Geoff Castellucci, who also has his own channel full of amazing covers and arranges many of VoicePlay's songs (though this one, I believe, was arranged by their beatboxer, Layne Stein, in the letter jacket, who co-owns the studio where this was filmed and sings a gorgeous baritone when the mood takes him.) Omar, the 'front man' here in the orange shirt who also joined them for another Warframe cover (Sleeping in the Cold Below) and several others, was a finalist on The Voice some years back. Eli, the bald fellow in the glasses, used to sing in a metal band, hence the hair-raising shriek you heard at the start and end of this number; he arranges for them now and again, and usually sets up the lighting for their videos. Cesar, in the overalls, is a sweetheart of devastating proportions and will either make you laugh out loud or reduce you to a puddle of heartbroken tears given the chance--you have been warned!
Choose any song in their channel that catches your eye and I promise you will not be disappointed. Like and subscribed, hoping to see you react to more of their stuff!!

It was so cool to hear your reaction as someone who was familiar with the Warframe world. I love VoicePlay and hope you listen to more. Sleeping in the Cold Below is their other Warframe cover, but everything on their channel is good. Thanks for reacting!

This is definitely a rabbit hole you want to go down. It doesn't matter what song you pick, you will be amazed. They are completely independent so they do everything from arranging to videoing. They have a great makeup artist as you will see in some of their other videos as well. The "guy with the long hair" is Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci and he has his own channel. He does everything himself on that channel as well, though it is not acapella, he does all the music himself. His wife is the production manager for both him and Voiceplay.

Yes, they are completely acapella! Everything they do is wonderful and they never cut corners on production. I had never heard this song until VoicePlay covered it but it’s a banger! You should definitely check out more from them ❤

Oh, another note as I’m finishing your video…Omar is the one in the middle. He was a finalist on The Voice a couple of years ago. He has such a beautiful voice as they all do. 😊

Thank you for the reaction, I really enjoyed your enthusiasm!
You're in for such a great time, I promise! Honestly, "cover" seems to be a bit of an understatement. I consider them re-arrangements that can stand on par with the original version while offering something unique. Liked & subscribed - if you're going to react to more VP and/or Geoff, I'm very excited to see which songs you'll choose and what you think. There are no "wrong" choices, but from what you've said, here are some ideas (no pressure though).
VoicePlay are nicknamed "the theatre kids of acapella", so if you're delighted by the immersive aspects like acting, set, costumes and make-up, you'll find a lot to love here: From video game inspired songs (For example "Valhalla Calling") to iconic Disney Villains ("Hellfire", "Be Prepared") and the full range from spooky ("Thriller") to hilarious ("Drunken Sailor")... On the other hand, there are also songs that are almost visually minimalistic. Just five stunningly talented people with incredible vocal ranges coming straight for the hearts and souls of their listeners. The VoicePlay cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is such a song. (And if you know the original, you know that's a hell of a challenge for an acapella group.)
I'm sure other fans have already mentioned: the group's bass singer, Geoff Castellucci does solo (non-acapella) work on his own channel, using "clones" and multitracking to create harmonies and show the full extent of his impressive range. His "Hobbit" Trilogy and "Ghost Riders in the Sky" / "Unshaken" are a feast for eyes and ears, his cover of Elvis Presley's "Way Down" never fails to cheer me up, and his reimagining of "Sound of Silence" is hauntingly beautiful.

Omar was in the orange shirt. Voiceplay is amazing. Warframe provided props but gave them free rein on their arrangement and video. They have done several gaming pieces but they can do any genre.
They used to tour extensively pre-Covid, in fact they were on one of the cruise ships that had to sit offshore for a couple of weeks before it was permitted to dock. Since the world was shut down, they upped their studio work which was already great. Geoff (bass), Layne (beatbox), and Eli (bald tenor) are all married with children and find being home much better. They have done a few corporate gigs and a concert with Chicago in November 2023, but mostly they stay in Orlando.
They are one man short and have a variety of talented friends who work with them to make up the fifth voice.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay.

So the full story behind this amuses and delights me, it goes something like this:
    1) Somebody (I don't recall who, sadly) made a cover of Sleeping in the Cold Below
    2) Geoff heard the cover and really liked it
    3) Geoff had VoicePlay do their own cover of Sleeping in the Cold Below
    4) Digital Extremes (the Warframe devs) saw VoicePlay's cover
    5) Digital Extremes quickly contacted VoicePlay about doing a sponsored cover of Party of Your Lifetime
    6) Months later: you are here

Geoff (pronounced Jeff) Castellucci is the bass singer, and has his won solo channell (you gotta see! Voiceplay did a cover of Sleeping in the Cold Below from warframe as well. The do not call Voiceplay the theater kids of A Cspella for nothing!
