Is now possible to control the gain of these Dante stage boxes? In live situation having to use external device such as laptop just to adjust gain in my opinion makes this not usable at all
Thank for your video we have a yamaha tf5 with dante stage boxes. but we want to have a behringer wing, using the same stageboxes TIO, but i want to know one thing. May we use the ultranet using the TIO boxes with a dantes card?
Hi Drew. I really like your videos. You always say we can leave a comment here if we have another topic we like you to make a video about. So here is my request: x32 pitch shifter. Have you ever used it, when to use it and when not to use it, and what are your recommendations on the settings? Greetings from the Netherlands!
I haven't personally used the Pitch Shift. The main use for it is to create a "doubled vocal" sound. If you have the Mix knob at 100% it will completely shift the vocal up or down in pitch. If you are looking to make a doubled vocal sound it would be best to have the mix knob at a lower level. Let me play around with it for a bit and see if I can find a use for it. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@DrewBrashler also, since a lot of churches use the SQ series consoles, are you considering doing a series on the SQ as well? Or are you only doing Behringer products?
@itownmusicians Sorry for not replying earlier. I would love to do a series on the SQ, I just don't have one! I'm hoping in the future to get my hands on one so I can make a full series on it!
possibly can i use my wing rack as a stage box for yamaha tf? what is needed for this (I know that this is not a very good idea, but I have such a situation)
Great for this video. What's the possibility of using a Wing on FOH and adding an old TF5 for Monitor or Broadcast Mix? If possible, what will be required? Best regards from Nigeria. P.s all available now is a Wing, DL32 and TF5.
You would just need the Wing-Dante card for your Wing and the Dante card for the TF5. Then you can send the input source to the Dante card for sending to the MON console!
I can likely verify this, as of today since I'm prepping a TF5 for an install (firmware updates). In my studio, I have a Yamaha DM2000, and I finally landed an opportunity to test running one for head amps (monitor world), digital trim on the other (front of house). It works flawlessly. I also tested it in both directions, and it's fantastic how well it works.
It's all up to the manufacturer and whether or not they give you the ability to control headamps from something other than their console. For example, the Allen and Heath DT168 can be controlled with DT Preamp Control software.
Any dante I/O that can be routed via Dante Controller would be able to be utilized by the Behringer Wing with the Wing-Dante card. Just like @stevecobb7889 was saying, most of the manufactures will have a dedicated software for controlling the preamp level.
Thank you for answering this question for me Drew. I have recently acquired a Wing console and wondered about the possibility of adding the DANTE card so that it could interface in a YAMAHA Dante based environment. Sounds like it will. I have a client that sends CLs and QLs out on shows with RIOs. I’m excited about the possibilities of interfacing a WING into that work flow. Thx for the great tutorial video!
Great video as always 👌🏽. In another topic: what mic/effect or processing do you have on your vocal in this video? I get the impression your voice sounds “brighter” but smooth sibilance
Thanks for asking! I just started using an editor for editing my videos rather than editing them myself. He is MUCH faster than I am at editing. Once I used him I changed my vocal processing chain a little bit. The new voice processing uses the following vocal chain: F6-RTA, EMO-D5, L2, Clarity Vx. The Waves F6 gives EQ tailoring and a HPF for my voice. I then have the EMO-D5 for an expander, compressor, and de-esser. I then have the L2 for mastering my level up higher for UA-cam, then I have the Clarity Vx Pro for reducing the sound of my room and AC unit that is in the studio. I then have another L2 on the master mix for controlling overall levels for getting up to UA-cam standards.
Yes it does! You can do the same steps that I used for the TIO for the RIO stage boxes. If you have the new D2 boxes that do 96kHz, you will need to run them in 48kHz for the wing to be able to connect to them.
Hope one day Audinate could release a technical appendix to unify preamp control protocols of all brands of Dante devices.

Would you still need the R remote when it is just sending signal from board to board?? For example Tf5 to x32 or vice versa
Does this works with the default control/AoIP eth ports ? (so without a dedicated Dante card)

Just a question, why do you install a Dante card when the console has Dante natively? Seen a couple of people do it?
It does not have native Dante
please do a video for yamaha dm3...i would to.know is it possible to expand channel if we connect dm3-dante to tio 1608
Would this work with any dante enabled stage box?

Definitely consistent greatness gets achieved not by one big step, but many increasing steps.

Wing Rack is coming!
Who said!???
That would be awesome! I don't know anything about it, how did you find out?
Long live the Chicken Wing!
The chicken wing? HAH
Might be a fine example of, just because you can do it doesn't mean you should. This looks like a pain.
please. don't hit the 57 ..😃
Should have been a 58, then you can put a nail in a 2x4. 🤣
