When I was a teenager a friend bought a '66 Lincoln convertible used. It was a luxurious, technical masterpiece that required the talents and skills of wizards when the top sequencing system stopped working.
I own a 63 and I love my car when she is running. Had it for 8yrs and she turns heads all the time. But definitely a pain trying to find the right mechanic
These Lincoln's had such style and engineering and become such beautiful cars. Nothing today even comes close to them, today there are no designers everything is a copy.
They're build inside a Computer using Autocad . But you can only design that car based on the Softwares limits. These Lincolns came from a Clay Model where sculptors shaved off what wasn't needed to match the free-hand drawings . Once the model was done as a static display , the workers made molds with plaster and then each section was then made of wood to perfect it and then the stamping DIE's were made from steel and finished off to match the Wooden version specs . Thanks to Wind-tunnels , most basic sedans look the same for their shape to reduce Drag but now with the Pedestrian saftey design the cars must have a low impact point to hit the person near the knees and have the body slam into the hood. The older designs with a high bumper and flat nose used to launch the person forward into traffic or to slam into the ground and do added damage .
WOW! What a stunner! (And the Lincoln ain't bad either!) The Conti is truly an amazing vehicle. Kudos to whoever restored it. I may give a kidney and a testicle for it if interested! 😉 (Woulda offered liver but that is shot)
John Texas nice answer! I was a bit confused when he used the adjective “loose.“ I thought he meant the verb “loosen the dice,” but that didn’t make sense either. Lol
I think the song you chose makes this a touch better. Just all goes together very well. And the girl driving I'd bet is very cool and down to earth. If she's yours I'd say your lucky to have her. Gorgeous car.
Sam and Dean Winchester would've loved driving this car in their show Supernatural. I could drive this car all day everyday and say pardon me do you have any Grey Poupon LOL totally love the car awesome.🚗🚗🚗😀
That leather is also beautiful not the vinyl looking stuff that was original. I will say that if you ever had the chance to drive one of those old big body Ford Thunderbirds or Lincoln Continentals they had a feel that was all their own. From the accelerator to the steering to the body roll and slow transient response they were a joy 2 drive especially when you didn't know what a real sport sedan could drive like classic buddy. All these comments expect the car to be like a brand new 2020 something that's the way they were made back then and they were very enjoyable I'd love to have it and her
Fascinatingly impractical car. So luxurious you have to hire a special mechanic just to keep the top and windows operable, and you have to have another car or truck to follow behind with your luggage.
my first Lincoln (Chevy Guy) after watching your "why not to.." we will probably fabricate every electric this pneumatic that to make her run..... tips on the ls swap?
WHAT a paint job!!! (BTW, does the top unscrew from the windshield header while the "tonneau cover" flips out from the deck lid, or while the top is folding into the trunk?)
@@NathanWilsonDrivingDreams I believe it's because these model Lincolns with the retractable soft top are for dry, sunny weather driving and enjoyment only as they were top of the line luxury American cars of their day. Note there's no boot (or trunk, sorry, I'm from Australia) lock on this model or style of car. Hope this clears that up for everyone, thanks for the video, it's still a beautiful car!!
yes. i believe that one went to dubai. i have a baby blue 66 vert going on ebay next week. finishing up the video now. better condition than this black one here.
Where were you when I was selling it! Lol. I'm just finishing up a triple black 64, but it's pretty custom with air ride and shaved handles etc. I'll make a video.
How effing dare you show this icon, America's only 4 door convertible with the right windshield wiper missing, then have the effing Gaul, audacity to install an incorrect wiper, on you you, have absolutely no place owning this American treasure, I demand and insist you Get the correct wiper arm and reshoot this video, that you have Any respect and integrity of owning this automobile.
Very Nice Lincoln 👌, I have a 71 Mark 3,Love the Lincoln Ride on a Cloud ☁️
This car is flawless.
If thier was a 767 of cars this is it, beautiful and classy, with Luxury...

That's a great way to put it... and still true.

Perfect work of art...and I am a Cadillac guy
Beautiful Lincoln. I prefer the 1961-65 body style but the 1966-67 had several improvements over the earlier convertible.
I want one soooo bad!!! my dream car since I was 12

Continentals ALWAYS carried its Class from then . . .to now and Lincoln knows how to do it. . .

Great work, you're a real craftsman.................I love these, II's, III's, and 67 T-Bird 4-Door formal roof line hardtops.
Johnnyc drums thanks!

Thanks. It takes me hours to put these together. And yes my wife is pretty down to earth, she's outside feeding our pet pigs right now...barefoot. ;)

Lincoln's the best
The original "transformer". Very, very nice.
My dream ever...
What a car
hard to find one of these. I been searching for awhile for one . oh well maybe someday :-(

search "diving dreams lincoln" to see some of the others we've done.
Nice
Wow
my first Lincoln (Chevy Guy) after watching your "why not to.." we will probably fabricate every electric this pneumatic that to make her run..... tips on the ls swap?
cooooooollllll!!!!!!
I'm considering getting a 1963, 1965, 1966 or 1967. Which of these years is the best to get?
I prefer 64-65, but technically 66-67 are "better" cars with less issues.
WHAT a paint job!!!
(BTW, does the top unscrew from the windshield header while the "tonneau cover" flips out from the deck lid, or while the top is folding into the trunk?)
Wtf Happened when the upper back panel is full erect it hits a limit switch that activates the "top unlock" relay.
I assume that "upper back panel" equals what I called the "tonneau cover"? Many thanks
I had a 69 two door loved that car but this one so hot
Beautiful Lincoln!!! what's the name of the song in the video playing?
Bad company
"Suicide Doors" 🤪👍😆 THEY WERE VERY "CHIC" AT THE TIME 😉
So there is no trunk cargo capabilities when the top tucks down ?
Only about 3 sq.ft.

Great car, how do you get away with using that music?

i have only stratus cabrio
66 third has same top mechanism
How much it cost?
WHAT A BEAUTY. The girl aint bad either brugh. Nice & thick.😉
Yea. I was too busy looking at her thickness to notice the car.
Why is there only one windshield wiper?
Can't afford two, these cars are expensive!
@@NathanWilsonDrivingDreams Then steal one.
sold?
yes. i believe that one went to dubai. i have a baby blue 66 vert going on ebay next week. finishing up the video now. better condition than this black one here.
Beautiful car, but the styling just not as refined as the 62, 63, 64
اقول ابغاها ذي
