  • This video shows how to clean the Keihin carburetor in a Honda HRC216K3HXA commercial lawn mower that was left sitting unused, for a long time. This method applies to the K1 and K2 models as well. Fuel related carburetor issues can be avoided by using SeaFoam in the fuel at all times.

    This video was perfect to walk me through the cleaning process. The step-by-step instructions were great, as were the little tips about things to watch for. I’ve never disassembled and reassembled a carburetor before this, and my mower went from non-running to running. Thank you for saving me weeks of waiting for the repair shop to get around to it!

    Thanks so much for this well presented video. Just what i needed to get my Honda HRC mower running again.
    Top tip...after reassembly, remember to put the spark plug back on, otherwise the engine will never start. Don't ask how I know! 🥴 Engine then fired up first time like a champ and ran oh so smooth😊

      You're welcome. Thanks for watching, and for the comment. Pick up a can of SeaFoam and start using that in it, a few ounces per tank of fuel, and you'll stop having carburetor issues.

    Thanks - great vids - like the pace and thoroughness. 14:18 - orientation differs from 1:50 (or am I mistaken?). No start!!! :)!

      Thanks for the comment. I'm still learning about how best to shoot and edit the videos, so they're a work in progress. It's bit of a balancing act to have a camera in the way of the tools, my hands and arms, and the work flow in general. I want it close enough to show detail, but it also has to be far enough back to catch all the movement involved in removing and disassembling parts. It'll get dialed in as I shoot more vids, and learn from the process. I'll be sure and start them in the future!

    Should I turn off the gas when I am done mowing so gas does not sit in the carburetor?

    • @austinado16
      @austinado16  3 місяці тому +1

      There will still be fuel in the carburetor bowl, even if you allow the engine to sit and run, with the fuel lever turned "off," until the engine dies. This is why it's important to treat the fuel with SeaFoam, year round, unless you're mowing weekly, and using up the fuel in your fuel container, monthly.
