Small part of me wonders if any of this is pre-rehearsed cause its just so good and extremely quick. It's blatantly obvious when its on american talk shows like Jimmy Fallon does the "imitate a singers style playing this random chosen song" that there's no randomness do it and they prepared ahead of time.

You can be sure, that like all comedy genuises, this stuff is well-rehearsed. He's very good at off-the-cuff one-liners too - but these stand-up routines are practiced for hours. He makes it look like he's winging it, but that's why he's so good.
yeah. i've heard him use some of these jokes in other places before. probably part of why the things he talked about were pretty tangential to the topics - he was pulling out stuff that he's already practised. still very impressive and well done but definitely not invented on the spot
I'm glad others have pointed out that not much of these shows is actually "off the cuff" but they're very clever nonetheless to come up with the material initially.
