Thank you so much for posting this video. It is encouraging to know that cardiac surgeons are recognising that myocardial bridge is not always benign and can cause debilitating symptoms.
Had both HOCM surgery performed in 2015 by Dr. Smedira and myocardial bridge w/lima bypass by Dr. Pettersson. While I’m a survivor of both conditions I personally still struggle with symptoms that are from damaged endothelial cells after decades of being trapped in the myocardium. My question is if Bypass is discouraged then why did Dr. Pettersson proceed with both unroofing and LIMA bypass for me. I’m 61 years old in 1 week.
@@slimshady5510 thank you for asking. Unfortunately no, I’m not symptom free. I am however, still here and try to make the best of each day. Heart issues have definitely taken a toll and reduced quality of life.
Would you usually recommend unroofing for a patient with a small shallow bridge but who also has plaque and a very low IFR reading which was 0.69 to 0.72 with dobutamine but was also significant at rest ?
I was born with myocardial bridging, lately ive been having frequent chest pains, i have to take nitroglycerin now more often. It was discovered in 2012 and i hardly had to use nitro, now im having more angina pain, so i have made appt to cardiologist, its scary😢.
Hello, everyone. I’ve an myocardial bridge which is 15mm and complete. I’ve an CT Angiography. They said there is no blockage in vein and no meaningful narrow between systole and diastole. After that I’ve done Nuclear stress test. Nuclear stress test resulted, there is no problem with blood flow to my heart. But I’m still having symptoms. I’ve pressure on my left shoulder and there is a numbness on my left hand. Sometimes I feel, numbness on left side of my jaw. In a day life, when I stand and slow-walking, I feel painful pressure on my chest, 4-4.5 over 10. In addition to that, I feel dizzy while I’m standing. I’m a little fatigue in a day, can’t find energy to do exercises. I’m living in Istanbul/Turkey. I got contacted with one of the best cardiologist in Turkey and his name is Afksendiyos Kalangos. I showed my reports and he said not to worry about my myocardial bridge because reports show that, I’m not feeling these thing because of MB. But why I’m having these symptoms?
you're not alone in these feelings. I have this, some days I can exercise fine, lift weights and so on... some days i can barely walk around my small garden without having to have a sit down. Chest pain's every day and arm tingles most days. Seeing a new cardiologist next friday. Fingers crossed.

After unroofing do you need to be on beta blockers or other meds?
