They really arent making Cate a likeable character at all. No redeeming qualities to her, even in her flashbacks. Kind of a crappy person all around lol

Yeah I’m getting a bit fed up with all of the drama. I’m gonna give it one more episode before I decide how much I like the show.
At the first 3 episodes.. it was going pretty well for me, pretty much invested. Then, the 4th episode was kinda meh, and the last 5th episode really made me almost drop the series.
Episode was a waste of time IMO, the interrogation bits was too short, The red zone bit was very meandering and not very interesting, all the events could've been resolved in half the time. All we got was bringing back that jetstream pattern thing to find Kates dad, so we got a direction for the show at least, and May is now a mole for Monarch. That's effectively all we got in this episode. Next episode should hopefully be better paced with more plot threads coming to fruition. It feels like the show was probably written for 8 episodes worth of content but forced to stretch it to 10, with episodes 4 and 5 are kinda the slow crawl to make that work.

Interesting fan interpretations.
This show definitely has some interesting mysteries going on. Firstly, Shaw definitely had some sort of lifespan extension from one of his adventures. A 90+ year old dude couldn't do all the stuff he did. Secondly, how did Keiko not die from the fall? Thirdly, what's going on with May's secretive past? One way the humans could actually be cool in the series is if they did something similar to that Kong animated series from the early 2000s.
I don't think Keiko survived the fall, since she was covered with Baby Kaiju Bug things at the time.
It's most likely some stupid way of story telling by jumping around different past events showing a lovable character dying and then wondering what happened after with her husband and friend
Some 90 year olds can do stuff, called taking care of yourself, and also maybe Monarch did stuff to him or some of his missions, maybe put stuff in his food or something
Rooting for a titan…any titan will do…to eat the 3 young protagonists. How does a viewer stay sober with so much on screen whine.

4:11, Cate and Hiroshi’s infidelity and neglect of the people close to them could also be a bit of set up for a reveal that Keiko had an affair with Lee, torn between her career of searching for titans as embodied in Bill and a more personal connection with other people as embodied in Lee.
It would certainly add more to the duality theme the show goes for as each of the characters are torn between attempt to hide different aspects of their lives.

The special effects are amazing but this episode was absolute garbage, not impressed with the series yet, it should be called Monarch: No monsters, all they are doing is using clips from the movies to save money. I really hope it picks up

I’m much more interested in learning about the aftermath of G-Day than seeing some random Titan in every episode. Save the budget for the actual fights later
That’s what I’m saying we got 4 movies of Godzilla and King Kong fighting each other or other titans this is a nice change of pace showing the aftermath that one of these titans cause and I think the character development has been really good not sure why people hated last episode and this one.

Not only that but there’s also a new Godzilla movie that just came out minus one which is one of the best kaiju movies ever made.

This is my last episode of Monarch, I started watching the show with my young son who loves Godzilla but this episode destroyed for me, no monsters, no flashbacks to the fifties, out of the sudden felt like I was watching a completely different show. Bye!!!
Last 2 episodes have been weak. The current day characters are less interesting than the flashback ones
Feel the same. I get the feeling it will pick up next episode, as 5 at the very least established a direction for the show, going to Africa. Main issue i think is they just didn't have material for 10 episodes, more like 8 I bet, so 4 and 5 were the glacially paced parts, right in the middle.

I've watched the 1st 4 episodes so far, just like most TV series, this is *BORING AS HELL!* All talk no action. Lots of useless, pointless "filler" just to drag it all out. For example, how much time did they unnecessarily waste showing the pencil shavings??? I keep thinking of Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park "So, are we ever going to actually see any dinosaurs on this dinosaur tour???" That's what I keep asking during Monarch, are we ever going to see any monsters in this show about monsters? 4 episodes in & all we got so far is 1 tiny monster about the size of Godzilla's toe.
And it really felt like the writers were saying "Well, we really don't want to put any monsters in this show, because we don't have the budget, we just want to have the humans talk themselves to death, BUT, we're 4 episodes in so we better put some kind of monster in or else the viewers will be pissed." We really don't want to put any monsters in our show about monsters because we don't want to spend any money on the effects. So let's add as many scenes with pencil shavings as we possibly can and hope nobody notices.
That's what I'm getting out of it. Just like pretty much every TV show out there. Twisted Metal was boring as hell with hardly any action until the last episode. And the Agents Of Shield season with Ghost Rider hardly had any Ghost Rider in it. The effects are too expensive so the entire show is Robby Reyes with just a teeny tiny glimpse of Ghost Rider. The exact opposite of what every Ghost Rider fan wants to see. It truly amazes me how they can take an awesome, action-packed movie & turn it into a boring TV soap opera that is 99.9% lame, boring talking.

We still haven't found out what happened to Keiko at the end of episode three yet. The search for Cates dad is so boring and I don't even care anymore if they find him or not. The show is at it's best when the focus is on Keiko, Kee and Billy. I'm going to be so pissed if this show ends with them finding hollow Earth. I've lost total interest in this show.

this show had an interesting start but then detoured into character backstory for characters that i don't think anyone asked and wasnt very compelling and didnt really move the plot foward for and now it just totally nosedived straight into the hollow earth's depths by appealing to the average twitter user kaiju fan.
i won't be suprised if kentaro gets competely emasculated and may and cate end up getting together and wouldn't be surprised if Shaw gets emasculated and killed off too as tradtion when it comes to monsterverse and A list actors.
if you guys want a good kaiju show i recommend Godzilla Singular Point and Gamera Rebirth instead.
Didn't care for the drama in this one with the PTSD moment. It felt forced and a bit too much filler. How does going into a tunnel cause your PTSD to happen? I understand the first episode with the threat of Godzilla coming with the sirens and everyone getting to the shelter, but this one felt they forced it just to cause drama. Maybe if the PTSD moment started when they were walking past the school or she saw the back of a school bus I would find it relevant, but running from the guards into a subway was just dumb. Also the knowing the guards are around and doing the singing just to cause the guards to show up was also stupid. I hate that they put in all this drama over things that is forced and shouldn't be in a show about monsters and Monarch who chase monsters. All the useless background info is just filler to drag a story out because the writers probably couldn't write a full season about finding their Dad who worked for Monarch and seeing all the Monsters along the way.
