First of all, these incest cases were both despicable, period. First case where this brother and sister murdered their baby, I'm shocked that they both didn't receive the death penalty. Would you explain to me what kind of sentence that the brother received "banished beyond the seas means"? Second, case the minister disappeared but sent a letter of resignation and his sister escaped custody, was she ever detained? Great investigating, presentation and backstory, as always. Take care 🦋
Hiya, Yes, really shocking cases and also the kind of cases that authourities did not want to deal with. The Braids in particular - everyone knew about it, but it was very difficult to find newspapaer articles on them. So, the brother was deported to never return. Apparently, he had made a good stab at a defence for himself which is why he was deported rather than executed. The sister apparentlly generally collapsed and did not much defend herself. Those who did not have the money to hire a lawyer or the talent to defend themselves were at the mercy of the court system. This is where a "lawyer will be appointed to you if you can't afford one" comes in. Also, women were expected to be the rpimary protector of children. A woman who did not do this, was not a woman but a monster. The minister case (which by the way came up from our research into when reverends go bad). It COULD be, but we do not know, that the sister was allowed to escape as no one really wanted a trial. We have no follow up of her. It all sounded somewhat contrived to us. Thanks so much for your support! We were uncertain about running this episode, especially as pictures were few, but we have always tried to approach the stories unflinchingly. Tomorrow's episode is one of our favourities. We had some real technical issues for a few days, so it may sound a bit diffifernt than usual, but we uploaded it anyway as we are on a super tight schedule. This one will be the first in our series, WHEN OBSESSION TURNS TO MURDER. Hope you like it and thank you agaIn so much for your support! It is very much appreciated!😊
Giving Brief Case good run for its money. Well done!
Thank you 😊
