Water the whole pot generously. In summer you'll need to water more frequently, in winter you should water them less frequently. - Always pot your plants into pots with drainage holes and use an underlay tray to catch excess water, empty excess water out. **Light** - No direct intense sunlight (if it's not a succulent or cactae plant). However you should still keep it in window proximity. This all depends on the orientation of the apartment though. Southern windows get direct sunlight for longer periods than other windows in the northern hemisphere. From the looks of that plant at 4:06 it seems like it had some water issues (not good enough drainage or not watering frequent enough).
What a gorgeous space! I love how light & airy it is - I can imagine in the summer it'll be lovely to have the windows wide open & have all the fresh air & sunshine streaming in. I'd definitely be interested to know how you've moved to Portugal from the UK (I'm also from the UK) - helps with the daydreaming to move somewhere sunny & warm! 💜
